  1. Gotta disagree. I'm really feelin' all the gating stuff going on here. I think this is a pretty solid track overall, gated-strings included. You really captured the fun halloween-y vibe that Grant does so well. Nice grooves, solid arrangement. I like it! YES Oh, also, I do have to agree with the other Js that I'm not a fan of the "if I don't make it with this one I'm quitting" thing. Feels emotionally blackmail-y. Could have done without that.
  2. Wooooow that's disappointing. I was just getting into this end it ends. Gotta agree with other Js. This is waaaay too short. Need more man, hook a brother up! NO, resub asap
  3. You go to some very interesting places harmonically, which I love, but there's a lack of complexity in the piano that's bothering me. The left-hand part feels like it's doing the same simple arpeggio throughout the entire piece. I agree with other Js that this feels like it's coasting after it gets a few bars in. I really like the soundscape, though the piano may be a little reverb-heavy, and I feel like the ocean SFX is on auto-pilot and isn't really accenting what's happening in the track in any meaningful way aside from being there. Some of the crashing wave sounds get pretty busy, which kind of pulls me out of what the piano and pad are doing. Would love to see you apply some of these ideas to a piece with more depth. The simplicity isn't really working here. NO
  4. Man this is swimming in reverb. Not a bad thing though; it works for the track. I'm with Dain; loving this arrangement. The atmosphere has this cool late summer vibe. Vocal loops are used a lot but there's so much evolution and variation that none of it ever gets old. Love how you've combined the sources too. Lots of integration. That's the real spirit of the multi-source compos. YES
  5. WOOOOOOOOW what a wild blend of sounds. The interplay between live and synth elements is really amazing. That part at 1:25 where the sound just opens up is fantastic. I love how this piece keeps evolving and never tries to coast. Definitely digging the performances here too. Tight and clean. Fantastic. YES
  6. Trying out a new Crusader this season. I need to compare him to my other Crusader to make sure I'm trying different builds.
  7. Hey man. Your "real name" field is for your real name, not for anything you want to put in there. If you're not going to put your real name there, please leave it blank.

  8. Start organizing it now. Go to the R&C forum and get it going. If you start now, you might be able to have it ready by All Hallow's Eve.
  9. Close! B major or G# minor. Ab minor is the relative minor of Cb major. Enharmonics, I know, but still.
  10. Alex Jebailey is sending us a list of requested sources from the community, so don't get started JUST yet. We want to see if we can fill these source requests for the games.
  11. Whoa man, sounds good. Need something high-energy if you can. Yesss. Let me know.
  12. Capcom already made a level builder in Mega Man Powered Up, a PSP remake of the first Mega Man game, many many years ago. They're not going to revive Mega Man Universe, which was not a very good game to begin with.
  13. You really need to back off. He's asking perfectly valid questions and you're being unreasonably hostile. Knock it off.
  14. To be fair, most of the later Mega Man games never sunk to the depths that the Sonic franchise went to. It was just a few bad Mega Man X games. The Zero and ZX series were really good, and Battle Network and Star Force had their run. Mega Man games weren't really "bad games" in the same way that Sonic games were; Sonic games didn't just suffer from poor design choices, they were also poorly made. Mega Man games were—at the very least—technically sound. But yeah, the real problem Capcom has with Mega Man is that while the games are good, they're not blockbuster successful, and there's a big fragmentation in the franchise. They have Classic, X, Zero, ZX, Legends, Battle Network, and Star Force. The brand identity is so spread out that it actually affects how financially successful the line is. Mega Man is a lot of different things to a lot different people, and that makes it hard for a company to pin down what to do with it.
  15. I know room numbers get tossed around a lot and usually people are okay with it, but I personally don't like when my room fills up with 15+ plus people, some of whom I don't actually know all that well. Your best bet is to keep an eye on the status of the OCR suite and hang out there with people.
  16. We'll create a Mag 14 thread when it's actually relevant.

  18. Everyone always says this after they see me for the first time. I have no idea why.
  19. Capcom doesn't have a problem with Mega Man fans. Mega Man fans have a problem with Capcom. Mega Man fans won't be happy until you give them a Mega Man game. That's the only thing they want. Putting him in Street Fighter won't solve anyone's problem.
