  1. I've shown my support in seeing some of his past WTF Is... vids and occasionally bringing them up in the IRC upon regular discussion. Think his moves have been pretty cool with that, and it's a sweet thing he's gone as far as OC Remix exposure and all. But really, one of these days he aught to thank me for realising that an OC Remixer spread the word of his vids months before he spread the word of the site. Bring it on. x)
  2. Don't worry Alex, I've actually been sketching up the arrangement for your track over the past few days. A WIP during the next 2 weeks may be more than likely :)

  3. Why is it that May 1st or around that time is a popular time for a checkup? Honestly, for me around that time, I've got a TMNT project deadline, first wips in for FF3, the Castlevania one Chernabogue's working on, Mirby's "gimme a finished track for my Cid project or I'm kicking you off" type deal... that sort of thing. I still want to keep going with this. Just don't expect me to have something by May 1st, because too many other people want me to have stuff in for that time >_<
  4. Aside from the bunch of Skylanders level speedruns on my Youtube page, I don't have much to be credited for. I do enjoy watching people pull them off tho
  5. Talking from experience, to me it's difficult to make first impressions just because you're a new person. But like SnappleMan said, make music and make great use of whatever talent you have to give. Sure, I may be a little more distanced than most - I'm in the UK for one thing, I live further away than the other three UK remixers that have handled the previous two OCR conventions in this country (WillRock / Fishy / ProtoDome), and my personality has made me really difficult to be approached otherwise. But you don't have to be everyone's BFF just to draw attention, as long as you are willing to put great time and effort into your hobbies and interests. That said, use the workshop often; offer instrument services for projects yourself; maybe even have a secondary skill on the side (like with me with video editing). It may take some time, but you will get some good contacts this way, and what's better is that they could even help you keep improving your skills, or at least that's what I found.
  6. Actually there's two of them ("Arctic Rush" / "Running on Shards"). Though to be fair, there'd been a restriction on repeats this time around. Yet, a certain Vince Kupo may still be a happy bunny anyway because it didn't stop there being THREE remixes of "Escape From the City" on this thing
  7. Newspost: http://www.sonicstadium.org/2013/04/tss-community-release-the-sonic-stadium-music-adventure-2012/ Website: http://projects.sonicstadium.org/music-album-2012/ Torrent: This way! So, you guys may remember someone sharing the 2011 album in Community last year. I got to check it out for myself, and saw some great hints of brilliance out of it; definitely worth looking into. And interestingly, through a strange twist of events, I got involved with this year's album as well! So I'm among the 40 contributors to all this from across the Sonic based fanbase, with a mixture of musicians that got involved with last year's album (inc. EAR, Freen in Green and Wolfblur) as well as some strong performers that made their mark elsewhere (Serenity Seven, TrickyWolfy, MasterJace and a handful of others). A load of games covering the entire Sonic franchise were there, as well as expanding to other Sonic based media, original works (inc. Arrow's contribution for Robo Blast 2) and many other SEGA games that had also seen release at some point. Granted, it's not there to appease to OCR standards, but we are all here to have a good time and making arrangements that make us feel great as musicians. Whichever's the case, hopefully you guys would check this out and offer your thoughts
  8. What about the 2 other Charge Man remixes Phonetic Hero did for the same WCRG ("No Ticket!" / "Plains, Trains and Auto n' Beat")? May need to look into those. Plus there's "AMP", which also brought in SuperiorX and Rozovian with parts to call their own as well, and also towing in hints of Needle Man and Crystal Man. You should be covered by those, surely
  9. I understand, Rozo (and to some extent Meteo in spite of his confused response xD). I'm not meaning any harm on the duplicate arrangements, but I just thought that was a rather unusual move even for a large project like this one. Nevertheless, keep calm and mana on.
  10. It's also a strange one to ask, but how did some of the tracks in the track listing end up with second versions in spite of initial versions being considered done? As far as I'm concerned, HL and myself held the forts for Angel's Fear / Weird Counterpoint; think an explanation may be needed with this o_O
  11. Yep, it DID finally get taken down. The user may have continued raging (to the point that he even deleted every single "you stole this intro" comment on that page), but he finally got to the part where what he did was wrong, he took the vid down himself and terms were just settled. Glad that was over quick, but his reactions were still downright unruly for a young adult :\
  12. Well, the track in question for this one isn't specifically an OC Remix, but it was a track with a VERY SPECIFIC purpose. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXtc7IVRkOk To most passers by, it would just come off as "random intro for a shitty game video". But the remix in question is actually something I SPECIFICALLY made for Silver's Saturday Show, an ongoing music block for Radio Nintendo. Now, I wouldn't mind if it was a regular remix being used, but I certainly do NOT authorise the brief remix I did to be used anywhere OUTSIDE of any links to SSS. And what's worse, the Youtuber in question is passing off the current naysayers as 'trolls' on his Twitter account. So... summarized nicely from VizardJeffhog in another comment: OCRAPS, what do you guys think of this case? More to the point, how am I supposed to flag the vid?
  13. There doesn't appear to be a formal process, so yeah - as long as you inform the staff that the track(s) are for the festival, that's perfectly okay.
  14. I've noted listeners stating love for even tracks from Project Chaos in the previous SFMF. So I'm sure tracks from Sonic Zone would work out.
  15. I'm not here to sign up, but I have been keeping an eye on the compo's development during the first season and checking out everyone's involvement. It's been a good showing - even went as far as playing Tuberz's track in the Ultra-Modern round on SEGA Mixer Drive because it just blew me away in regards to what was put together from both him and Hakstock x) Either way, let's see how this goes! Good luck, all
  16. http://radio.sonicstadium.org/2013/04/sonic-radio-radiosega-and-segasonicradio-team-up-for-sonic-fan-music-festival-2013/ I'm not too sure if this thread belongs in Community, but hey, gotta get the word out, right? Originating at Sonic Radio, the Sonic Fan Music Festival is seen as an annual radio marathon event that recognizes fan remixes for the Sonic franchise and the people responsible for them. Remixers were invited to submit their own content for the event, while listeners could also let them know which tracks they consider to be their personal favorites. Last year, it was all organised by Sonic Radio's SonicRemix and ShadowRemix and had help from RadioSEGA's Gavvie, so it was a small team but was still a very strong effort. This time around, the team has extended to involve more of the DJ team over at not only RadioSEGA (which also includes myself doing an hour-long slot on the day), but also at the currently-reforming SegaSonic Radio. I was pointed to this by chance last year and saw it as a fun ride through and through. And now this year, I'd like to spread the word to anyone around OCR who's willing to contribute to this. All submissions are to be done via email at sonicremixATsonicradioDOTnet. So if you've got any Sonic remixes you've made yourself, and you want to send them over to this case, you can do that. Or if you don't make music, and you want to share your personal favorites anyway, you can do that too. Thanks for looking into this. Spindash away!
  17. Seems as if the download link isn't working. Perhaps you need more mirrors, because I think everyone who wanted it just broke the server.
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Bunny Apparently centuries ago, the hare was believed to reproduce without losing its virginity, and thus was linked with Mary. In addition, due to its reputation for birthing large litters during the spring, the rabbit appears to be a symbol for new life. Either way, yeah, Happy Easter to you too. I'd be spending time with my mother's side of the extended family at a Chinese buffet today; will be glad to see the entire gang
  19. Kind of a brief one for me - when I'm in front of my desk, I use AKG K271s, which have aided me a heck of a lot when it comes to evaluating new music and mixing my own. For on the go... yeah, cheap Apple iPod headphones, here we go.
  20. Well, I'm in. And I know just the thing. Sure, my nostalgia with Saturn games may be somewhat minimal in comparison to most others here, but I think I could handle a Sega Rally arrangement out there, remembering my fondness for playing it in the Arcade as a youth (and of course there was DAYTONAAAAAA... but that's another story ). Most likely I feel keen to try something with Ignition - tend to be a sucker more for the hooks on that one more than anything else
  21. Apparently, it's been a general opinion amongst fans of Skylanders that the Wii version of Spyro's Adventure was much more presentable on the Wii than the X360/PS3 versions. But I do see what you mean with shoddy Wii variations o.o*
  22. I can't say I played all that many 'ports', but .
  23. YES! xD I didn't actually just do a single 'fish' in one recording - in fact, Brandon spliced it from one of my Dr Seuss takes and put it there. I'll put in my initial reaction for prosperity's sake:
  24. Thank you Corey :D I saw your FaceBook message regarding it as well, been rather busy to reply back xD

  25. My first WIP may be late Kyle, but do expect something in your mailbox by Friday at least. I've been kinda busy myself, but I've got a roadplan with this thing and by then my first ideas should be in a listenable form.
