Mass Effect looks like will be an awesome game.

The price drop is only for Japan. Kutaragi (who should shut his mouth more often) said that the U. S. and Europe prices will remain the same, claiming that the consumers have come to gripes with the price. It is very possible that the price change comes to the states as well, the announcement has been said in japan because of the tgs, but I'm pretty sure that japan aren't the only ones that are complaining about the price, and I'm sure the media and the users have let sony know about it. Besides, having two very different selling strategies wouldn't be very wise.

Price drop just on the 20gb model though right? Have they said anything about price drops on the higher-end model? No news on that, it seems like this new plan includes a more traditional approach to marketing, and that is, no multiple SKUs. That's why they included hdmi support with the 20 gb version of the console, to make it more complete. The expensive one will be probably hard to find now, and will not be marketed a lot by sony, their focus will be on making the cheap version the "main" version now.

In more recent news, seems like sony is making a shift with his ps3 plans, and will be cutting the price to around 400 US$. This sounds like great news to us who are eager to get our hands on a ps3 but find it too damn expensive, however, with this shift in plans also comes a compensation for the low cost of the hardware, and sony will be charging more royalty to developers to make up for the money lost with the hardware, suposeddly raising prices to around 70-90US$. As many people are thinking now, is this a step back to neo geo era? This will only hurt the consumer in the long way, because after a few games you will be feeling the weight of those 100$ you saved on your console. User friendly is pretty old, I didn't find them too funny, but recognition is always good.

Since I haven't been visiting this thread a lot, I wonder if super special moves have been already discussed here. I was wondering which would fit each character the best, we already saw the massive 1,000 firaballs move from mario, and the atomic fart from wario or the "mega flare" (as I've called it) from samus... I wonder what we'll see for characters like solid snake, kid icarus or metaknight...

The first one didn't work for me, but I'll upload the others with the next update (I'll wait for a few more sigs before making a complete update) Keep 'em comming.

I have seen some banners supporting the n64 kid as a character for the next smash bros. I agree, absolutely.

Nope, anything DK related is Nintendo's, including DKC. Anything created by Rareware associated with Donkey Kong or Starfox became the property of Nintendo, even if Rare moved elsewhere. So characters like K. Rool and Krystal are totally viable for SSBB, and I comletely expect to see them... Meh, they already have Fox and Falco...they don't need Krystal too IMO. That'd be terrible, having Krystal in SSBB...who's next? Slippy? lol Really? I think Krystal would be great. Give her the staff with its rocket boost, fire and ice abilities, and the earthquake, and she'd be awesome. But I agree, leave Slippy out. You DO realize of course, that most of the time, Krystal doesn't have the staff... Fox does. Krystal most likely will be in, and have the staff; but I want to see Fox use the staff, maybe as an alternate version of him (akin to Zero Suit Samus). Just to put out a question... how many series do Nintendo own in a position similar to that of DK & Starfox? That is, how many more sortof-2nd-party series could they put in? I have a feeling that that's the first route they're gonna go to expand. Custom Robo, Pikmin, Chibi Robo, and future franchises like hammer and that surviving game thingy for Wii.

I wouldn't like to think of super smash bros of a title where they will put a lot of third party characters. Snake was ok, it was a good surprise and its a kickass character. But I would like to see only 1 more third party character, I think putting a lot of other non-nintendo stuff in it would break the magic. I know that the director, being the genious he is, wouldn't let this happen so I'd say, don't keep your hopes up for seeing a lot of third party characters in brawl.

I can see some of these characters, like bomberman and mister higgins, probably making an appereance in SSBB too. for those who didn't know, konami already had its own smash bros clone for gamecube, in which was showcased simon belmont along other famous (although more known in japan) konami mascots. I will look up the name and give you a link.
