  1. I definitely immediately read this as "human," and thought it was pretty damn cool.
  2. So do you want me to change your name in the DKC2 project thread?
  3. I'll put in a vote for new year, but are we seriously going to be at the same hotel again? I think the con has outgrown the space. EDIT: also, I m whole-heartedly in favor of summer MAGfest, as long as it's not anywhere close to the week of July 4th.
  4. I have no trouble at all recording into sonar or reaper, but any non-multitracking programs I use don't seem to be picking up any input. Can't record into wave editors, can't use skype, etc. I suspect it's an issue with audio drivers, but I'm not positive. I'm using a Creamware scope home card. Any ideas?
  5. Unfortunately I had to take tonight off from my new year's resolution
  6. Arek, isn't all the music pretty much done already? Just put together a site and release the damn thing. We don't care about a storybook or any other bonus features: we just want to hear the music.
  7. I'm sorry, but you're being an idiot here. Who the hell are you to tell other creative artists what the right and wrong way to go about their art is? Take a look at Pachelbel's Ganon. Chords are different. Hell, the melody is even different. Yet is 1) recognizable as Zelda's lullabye, and 2) Freaking awesome. Use of source? Check. The artist's own added flair and creativity? Check. Awesome to listen to? Check. This, my friend, is what we call a "ReMix."
  8. This.... actually frightens me and makes me quite pessimistic about the game's quality.
  9. It was honestly really weird being at an OCR meetup without Jill and Andy -- I think it's the first one I've been to that neither of them came to. Definitely missed them both
  10. OK, I finally have time to write a bit more about MAGfest. On the way to MAGfest, I had a minor sore throat -- my guess is that at any other time of year, it would have been a mild cold. However, at MAGfest it is unusual to sleep more than an hour or two per night, and this year was no exception. The result, of course, is that this run-of-the-mill cold turned into the cold from hell. Uber sore throat and zero energy for the whole weekend. Also, by the end of the con half the attendees (if not more) had the same thing. And despite this, it was STILL face-meltingly awesome. Jamming with the Xenotones, going to concerts, and best of all sharing a few TITANIC pizzas with the OCR crew. Not to mention my annual epic Tetris Attack/Panel De Pon battle with Bahamut (he finally beat me this year -- I'll have to whip his ass extra hard next year). All in all, it was an amazing weekend, as MAGfest always is. Can't wait for next year.
  11. SO I've decided I'm just going to come straight up to MAGfest today. See you all tonight!
  12. Aw, definitely gonna miss seeing your name on all the NO decisions, Andy. Hope you'll still be around and be a part of the community. Don't go all Gray Lightning on us.
  13. Oh, man, I'm really torn here; a local friend of mine is throwing a new year's eve bash with a bunch of old friends that I haven't seen in several years, including one female friend from highschool who... well, lemme put it this way: starla actually has the second best ass I've seen. So I'm debating whether I want to come to MAGfest tomorrow or hit the new years bash and then head up new years day.
  14. Guys, enough. Teeth doesn't like rap, but many of the rest of us think it's fine. All of this has been established and isn't going anywhere. Now, this Moaning Lisa thing, on the other hand....
  15. As I said several pages ago, the source is very well suited to it. The bulk of it is beat-driven, with brief melodic breaks, which is perfect for rap. That would be pretty awesome. No. It wouldn't. There isn't currently, but we still have time. I'll talk to Josh about it, and tell him you requested it.
  16. Damn, willrock, you're just cranking them out! Definitely your best to date, imo.
  17. New fuzz pedal sounds AMAZING! I don't think I've ever played through another pedal that responds so well to dynamics in playing. I'm probably going to be looking for every possible excuse to use it in my stuff from now on.
  18. The narrative really wasn't bad; it was nothing life-changing, it wasn't entirely original, but it wasn't bad. It was completely acceptable. But to me, complaining about the plot being unoriginal is missing the point. It would be like complaining about a weak plot in Tetris Attack; the point of the movie isn't the narrative. To me, the main purpose was to show us another world, a stunningly beautiful garden of eden on another planet. The narrative was peripheral; you could have completely stripped the narrative elements from the movie and it STILL would have been amazing. The movie didn't set out to tell a wildly compelling story, it set out to show us a lush imaginary universe in stunning and visually BEAUTIFUL detail. And it succeeded completely.
  19. Every mix of mine posted on the site to date (except one) has acoustic guitars.
