I'm sorry. This is just awful. Pop music or not, this is just really, really bad and embarassing. I don't "hate all pop music", although I dislike most of it, as it's generally too predicatable, but this is awful. Not even enjoyable-awful. I just want to cry.

Don't be upset. I have nothing against the PS3. It's Sony. I hate Apple, yet my Dad bought me an iPod and I use it all the time.
-
Now that is funny.
-
Sony are total dicks. They sound like Atari did with the Jaguar. Trust me, I was there and I was there having fistfights on the playgrounds during the bit-wars. Fuck Sony. There, I said it. The ad is not funny either. The ad is as awkward and forced as a giant enemy crab stealing Ninty's ideas.

Solar Man is aweome. Wily Stage 1 kills too. Classic Mega-metal.
-
Yep. 10 chars. On normal. Haven't tried hard mode yet.

Already beat it this morning. Pretty awesome. Wondered if someone would post about it. Edit: Disappointing music (too much minor key for mega man). Surprisingly good story and later stages. The new metal blade is neat.

Bumpety-bump! I finally gave up and bought this game. For those who say this is totally worth the money - you're totally right. It's totally quality and totally respectful to the original game. The new upgrades are a blast, each one is useful and fun to use. I'm at level 5 now, and it has become extremely difficult. I can only imagine how hard the later levels are going to be. The bat boss was straight-up evil. Holy cow! I beat the game! That was fun...... apparently, the battle is just beginning.... uh oh.

I joined on facebook. God, if anybody could capture the essence of Sonic, it's you guys (I'd call Virt too, he did some wicked stuff on Contra 4, and it sounded just like Contra should).

Thanks for the review. I like what I hear. I was worried because of the short announcement of the game, and I get that "too good to be true" vibe; but your review helped. I'm still a little shocked that the game exists, but I will buy once my girlfriend forgets that I just bought another Wii game.

How inappropriate, yet awesome. Cheers. God I wish I could sing like that.

I like the classic. I like the Nintendo Wii. I like the games that have been coming out lately. Wish I could get more of them. That's it.

I was wanting to start a thread about this, but I already did it about a different game, and I don't want to be a thread-hog. I'm totally going to support Sunsoft, and I love the 2D retro trend. My main concern is control, hopefully it will be good. I'm surprised by the short notice though (but I will certainly buy, I just finally beat Blaster Master a few weeks ago!)

He's a douchebag. I think it would be cool if he got an egg-shaped girlfriend. Now that's a new character.

Haha, sometimes I switch to the easy mode. I wish there were something in between.... Oh well, I think I'm ready to play again. I like how the music changes in different areas. Very old school, and not in a cheap only-for-nostalgia way.

So, either way, it's okay to refer to him with either name? Makes sense to me.
-
I always thought that he and his cohorts referred to himself as Dr. Robotnik and that his enemies referred to him as Dr. Eggman as an insult. Is this not true? Come on.

Seriously, this is the kind of game to play before you go to sleep. I know this game was hyped a good time ago, but I finally found it cheap, so I picked it up along with some cheap beer.. and wow, this game is beautiful. I was in the middle of a fight, and I almost forgot to stop fighting because I was staring at the background. The game is really fun too. The first couple hours, I was like "Meh. This is alright" but then you realize that you can really power up and get the upper hand on enemies, much like an RPG. You realize that the system isn't empty and that the battle system and "level system" are integrated with the rest of the game. This game is just so well designed, and the backtracking doesn't bother you, because the vibe of the game is just so relaxing. Part old school Metroid, part old school Ninja Gaiden. Great stuff, and frikkin' gorgeous too. I don't even know how they did it. Wow. Does anybody else just dig the shit out of this game? That's why I made the thread. Frikkin' awesome. How could you not love this game?

You are not my after dark man, whoever the hell you are. "Look at me, I'm going to dis a console without giving a reason for it". Jealous much?

I highly recommend Smartball for the SNES. It was developed by Sony's old software house (yes, even before the PSone), and it's really fun. It's got neat music and simple but likeable graphics and has a cool vibe. The best part is the gameplay. You can stretch tall and flatten, climb walls and I think even ceilings. You can also shoot projectiles and power up Jerry (the blob). It's just an upbeat, loveable game and it's only a couple of bucks in good condition. Sony Imagesoft also made several other under-rated games back then, including SkyBlazer, a bad-ass platformer also on the SNES. Check 'em out people. I also think Bible Buffet is a very fun party game (especially if you add drinking to the mix). Too bad it costs a good bit of cash.

A year or two ago Aounuma and Miyamoto had an interview discussing Twilight Princess, and the main issue they had with the game is that it felt like it was missing something. I love Twilight Princess, I've played through it almost three times, but I and many other people on this board seem to agree that it's time for a bit of an overhaul. Twilight Princess seemed to lack that "newness". I just didn't feel that sense of urgency while playing the game, that feeling that I just can't put it down, like with Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past. It hurt to stop when playing those games. Also, the winter mansion was totally cool. I have also wondered about its history, and why Snowpeak is part of Hyrule and not Termina. But you know how they say "The different Zeldas are just retellings of the same story"
-
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised by an update from Nintendo. If the Wii proved anything though, it's that you never know what to expect. Man I'm a Ninty fan all the way but I'd love to see some of their games with the graphics that the 360 and PS3 have, kinda like how you guys are excited about Natal and all that stuff.
-
I am totally there with Malaki with this 100%.

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that Metroid is Ninty's best-made franchise. Each new Metroid game is superb and the series has rarely sold out (I can recall one instance with Metroid Prime Pinball). The story is still mostly cohesive as well, unlike Zelda, which is rebooted every other game. Which franchise is best is up to each individual though... I can't say I like one more than the other. Other M is going to be a monster, and I'm equally excited about the new Zelda - the first true, ground-up Wii Zelda game. All of you people who are doubting Nintendo and their franchises - man, this ain't the year to do it. Zelda and Metroid are going to shred like Steve Vai. I know it. All of these people saying "I sold my Wii" and "my Wii is a dust collector", well, you're going to wish you kept up with it this year.

I can tell it's going to be an awesome game. I just know it. I want to some damn screenshots and footage though. Badly.
