  1. I'm going to go ahead and say that I really don't like people giving my childhoold heroes a bad name. For shame.
  2. All of the SNES Power Rangers games kick ass. The music rules, especially Stage 1 of the first game. Battletoads and Double Dragon anybody? Well, I guess that's more under-rated than unknown (David Wise is on the front page), but I don't see it getting that many mentions.
  3. What platform(s) will this game be on?
  4. Awwww... poor Toki. There was an arcade in my hometown that had this game. I remember it being pretty fun. What's this, a remake of some sort? It looks good.
  5. I was going to give the game its own thread, but Dragon Quest Swords is a terribly under-rated game. If any of you haven't tried it yet, I suggest giving it a rental. It's damn fun.
  6. That is totally awesome. The music, however, makes the video look like a softcore Mega-porn about your love for your drumkit. But that's okay, because I would make love to those drums too.
  7. I love the distinct sound of Sega's synthesizer. When there were games competing with those also released on the SNES, they sounded like crap in comparison (Street Fighter for example), but when it was used "correctly", you had great tunes that wouldn't sound as groovy on an SNES. The Sonic games are a good example. So are Ristar, Super Fantasy Zone and the Streets of Rage series. Streets of Rage was years ahead of its time musically. It's all about taste really, as the original NES sound chip will always be my fave.
  8. If you want another Sonic game, that's fine with me. I've just lost faith in Sonic, because I tried every single new Sonic game up to Sonic and The Secret Rings and it felt like they were making the same game over and over again. If they pull off a Sonic game that is just sickeningly awesome, then I will try it. But hey, if you enjoy it, then all the better for you. I still have plenty of love for the old games and a couple of the 3D ones were fun at certain parts, but I've learned not to expect anything. Someone recently mentioned that they should capitalize on the core things that made Sonic fun - speed and physics. If they focused on those things and gave the game the kickass musical stylings of the old games with some spiffy graphics it would probably rock.
  9. Sonic games are like that psychotic, half-likable ex that always promises that she's not going to mess things up this time, but once you've let her back into your life, she fucks your brother, drinks all of your liquor, then leaves to California with your rent money. Seriously, does anybody need a Sonic game besides Sonic Mega Collection?
  10. It's going to suck. I used to think people were being ignorant when they said the next Sonic game was going to suck, but yeah, it's going to be decent at best.
  11. I'm going to go to the store, buy some frikkin' beer, and then come home and play Contra Rebirth. Because I am a sad man full of sadness and I need some ass-kicking action to help with my emo-itis.
  12. and it probably ends with two player Contra too! (no offense dude, you're the man)
  13. I think they did a great job on all of the Ninja Gaidens. Even the gameboy game is pretty good. I'm just saying that a 2.5 dimensioned oldschool-style Ninja Gaiden would be super awesome.
  14. The Xbox ninja gaidens are really good, but they have few similarities to the original trilogy. Though if Team Ninja were to take the series to its roots, I would shit my pants in glee. Anyway, I have nothing against space marines, just the smug-looking ones and the fact that they're in every other game now. Like this guy in Starcraft 2. http://www.starcraft2.com/art.xml?s=96
  15. Actually, I meant the =Neutral= guy. Sorry, just woke up. Add that on top of my usual retardedness.

  16. Hey Schwaltz. I'd like to check some of that Jeremy Soule stuff. It sounds like great workout music. Anyway, thanks for introducing me to it. Good stuff.

  17. There is no game experience more exhilirating than beating a hard-as-nails classic game like Ninja Gaiden or Mega Man. I like a lot of new games, but it seems most new games try too hard to be like a movie and the game I like most this year (Punch-Out) is basically just an amped-up version of its ages-old predecessor. And most new games are just too easy. But hey everyone's different and that's okay with me. Also, older games had too many ninjas. Every other modern game has space-marines. Ninjas > Space Marines. Oops I did it again.
  18. I heard it was just a ripoff of Super Metroid and wasn't as good. Also, there has been a sequel to Super Metroid for a long time. It's called Metroid Fusion, and it's officially recognized as the fourth game in the series. I just thought I'd mention that.

Yep. I think you're right. But, I don't see why anyone would have the hots for Midna, even though she's awesome and is my favorite Nintendo character to come out in like ten years. Anyway, I think that the characters from this trailer look very furry-like, and I'm positive that the freaks will create all kinds of hentai and fan fiction for it. I am certain. Also, screw Quicktime. And iTunes.
  20. Actually, level 4 was the sewer level wasn't it. yeah, like I said, I don't think I tagged the songs right. It's actually either level 2 or 3. I'm not sure because my Blaster Master cartridge has been broken for a couple years. I was before the last boss, and, it just froze........ I've tried to play the game like a dozen times after that, and it's still sitting in its spot, never to work again.
  21. I have 3 Blaster Masters, specifically levels 1 and 4 and the opening cinematic mix. I would love to hear the others. The first three are in the links above for everybody else.
  22. Are there more blaster master mixes? Ya'll speak as if there are more. I checked his site, and it was null. I think he may be updating it. Looks like I figured it out - but listen - they can only be downloaded 10 times a piece. Where they go from there is up to you guys. Also, these songs aren't tagged appropriately. I don't even know the official names of the mixes. All I know is that I downloaded them early on in college. That was a long time ago, and I think these hold up very well. http://rapidshare.com/files/266994805/01_Blaster_Master_-_level_4_-_Disco_Dan.wma.html http://rapidshare.com/files/266995386/02_Blaster_Master_-_level_1_-_Disco_Dan.wma.html http://rapidshare.com/files/266996196/03_Blaster_Master_-_story_-_Disco_Dan.wma.html I just put a new hard drive in my computer. I'm putting CDs on my drive right now. If I come across the ice man mix, I'll upload that too.
  23. I still have some of his Blaster Master remixes. And I recall him having an awesome Iceman mix too. I can mail you the Blaster Master mixes if you want. They rule.
  24. Beaten Battletoads without cheating? I used the warps and I beat the shit out of those birds in the tunnel to get extra lives. God I wish I still had that game. So damn fun. I like Battletoads and Double Dragon even more. As for Contra, I have beaten the first two Contras without even dying. If you practice Contra enough you will get so good at it that only coop mode will really have a chance at defeating you. Contra 3 usually takes a couple continues on the normal mode, and I haven't beaten it on the hard mode yet. I'm looking forward to Contra Rebirth. It better be at least as mean as the first game. Does anybody here like the Monkey Ball games? Those can get ridiculously difficult.
  25. I agree with this guy ^ but without all the pissed-off-ness. Musicians and music as a whole were way better back in the day. There were still original songs back then. To be fair though, I don't think music really started declining until the mid-90s. There was something to like about every era until then.
