I managed to get pretty far by holding W until he falls, and then holding P and alternating Q and W. It was kinda funny hearing the 'Chariots of Fire'-esque music while watching the runner dragging his knee. Things were alright until I hit the hurdle. EDIT: On my next attempt, I managed to jump over the knocked-over hurdle.

merry christmas early - post your holiday cribs
jmr replied to prophetik music's topic in General Discussion
My brother and I bought a tree for our apartment earlier tonight. I'll post a photo or two once we get it up and decorated. -
Perfect. I'll try to send my WIP to you by the end of the week.If I get some spare time, I'll try to do up some sort of sig graphic again this year to hopefully drum up some interest in the project.

Will there be another Overclocked Christmas Album?
jmr replied to The Author's topic in General Discussion
I'm about 60-70% done a remix that would fit into that category, so if you do decide to go with that idea I'll definitely have something to contribute. The tracks you made last year were (and still are) awesome. I'd love to hear your take on either of those two songs. -
Will there be another Overclocked Christmas Album?
jmr replied to The Author's topic in General Discussion
I was thinking about posting a thread like this myself. If anyone decides to put together a Christmas album, I'll try to whip up something to contribute again this year. Here's the link to last year's album if anyone doesn't know what we're talking about. -
*raises hand*I bought an EFA Simple GBA flash cart (I haven't made the upgrade to a DS yet) just so I could play Mother 3 on the actual hardware.

HD Remix soundtrack: What files/encoding quality do you want?
jmr replied to Liontamer's topic in General Discussion
Some hardware players support it too. I've got a Sansa Fuze; FLAC support was added in the last firmware update. -

He said Magicant, not magnificent. I'm guessing he's talking about this: or this: ... but I can't really see how any of this is relevant to this thread.

I was kinda surprised when I saw who made that video.

Maybe you voted for it on OurStage or something. I'm pretty sure that's where I first heard it.Awesome EP overall. Can't wait for the album!

I realize that I'm a little 'late to the party' so-to-speak, so forgive me for bumping this thread. I just finished the game mere minutes ago... and it's easily the best game I've played in quite some time. It's probably the first video game that I've ever felt emotionally involved in. That final battle nearly brought me to tears. It's not hard to see why the game hasn't been officially localized, though. In a way, I'm kinda glad that it was translated by fans; I daresay it would have been HEAVILY censored had it been given a proper North American release.

Here's a free album and a free ep from a local electronic artist, Errand Boy. Enjoy!

Those previews sound amazing. Pre-ordered the 2CD pack. I'm not sure why I held off buying Origins for so long in the first place, so I figured now is a good a time as any to buy it.

Check your PMs.

I can tell you right now, without a doubt, that all the instruments you hear in that are free soundfonts from various sites (well, save for one small, small thing buried in the mix towards the end).I still have most of the ones Ryan used for that remix, actually. I can upload them (along with a few others I've acquired over the last few years) if you want.

I wholeheartedly agree. I had never played Quest For Glory before doing my FBRC2008 entry, and it was the easiest remix I've ever completed. (I'm slowly working on revising that one for submission, but it's on ice for now... I'm hopefully getting a new audio interface in the near future, so I'm waiting until I can do a proper guitar recording.)

I think Ampache is just the jukebox software he's using. The banner is probably just part of some default theme.

offtopic I know, but... I remember hearing about that game before; specifically it's music. Apparently some of the tracks were written by a then-13-year-old Owen Pallett, a Canadian artist who goes by the name Final Fantasy. I had no idea that the game had been released for free, thanks for pointing that out!...back to the topic at hand. Sierra / Game Arts' Silpheed for PC/DOS. My parents had it on their first PC, which was probably older than I am. I don't think I've ever fully completed it, though. I could get as far as Gloire (the final boss), but that's as far as I ever got. Even when I found and downloaded it last summer, I STILL couldn't beat it. I've wanted to do a remix of the 'Silph of Wind' theme for a long time, but I haven't been able to come up with anything I've been satisfied with.

Looking to liquidate my old Pokémon cards, need suggestions...
jmr replied to Black Mage's topic in General Discussion
I just went through all of my brother's old cards and created a list for anyone who's interested. They're all older cards (all 'first generation' according to wikipedia). I've also got a stack of non-TCG pokemon cards that my brother collected. Most of them seem to be "Movie Animation Edition" and "TV Animation Edition" Topps-brand cards, but there are a few from other sources. -
Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother fatally shot.
jmr replied to Salluz's topic in General Discussion
Make that three murders. I'll be honest, I didn't really know who Jennifer Hudson was before all this, but I can't help being saddened by all of this. -
Thank zircon; he's the one who referred them to me in the first place.

Looking to liquidate my old Pokémon cards, need suggestions...
jmr replied to Black Mage's topic in General Discussion
I've got a stack about 10cm high of my brother's old cards that he wants me to, um, 'liquidate' as well. I haven't got any idea how much they are worth, and to be honest, I don't even know were to begin to look. How am I supposed to tell, say, what series it is in, whether it's a 1st edition, etc.? -
I've been using these for the last few years, and they work pretty good if you're just printing on plain or glossy paper. If you're using a cd labeling kit or something like that, you're best bet is either taking measurements and making a template yourself in the software of your choice (typically that involves a lot of trial and error), or looking around online for one.

I know you're still in the process of adding all of the tracks on OCR, and you're working on other changes, but have you considered adding the albums as well?
