  1. anyone else see the trailer for this? looks really good. just look for it on youtube - people have been uploading it ever half an hour to avoid Ubi's copyright restrictions. i was a little surprised - i guess i missed the news that they're going back to italy this time around instead of something newer, but it should be interesting to see how he copes with the ending of the last game. and, by extension, how desmond deals with the end of the last game, too. what do you think?
  2. i love everyone and everyone should too
  3. long story short, i played x3 for several hours today trying to like it. i didn't, and deleted it with the wrath of a thousand gods. it was boring as hell! even with the time speed-up thing! blargh. so i'm still looking. looks like i might be giving eve online a shot, now.
  4. i'm about 20/60 with my current lenses, which are -11 and -11.5, respectively. so i figure i might be getting close =(
  5. there's a reason that you can't do that - mainly because there isn't a way to classify most remixes. some songs may start out chiptune, then go to rock, then to 'orchestral'...(black wing metamorphosis). there are tags, however, that you can use to find remixes.
  6. everyone loves me but no one quotes me in their sig like it's 2007 again =( although, tbh, that phrase is how i've always differenciated between modes and kind-of-tonicized pitch class sets. if you're just using interesting tones, it's not a mode. if you're using it properly in respect to traditional modal harmonies, then it's clearly a mode.
  7. oh, totally. the whole point of modes is that it's the same pitch class of every other mode based around that major key - like, a dorian is the same as c lydian and d mixolydian and f# locrian. it's how those pitches are used - what's tonic, where the dominant is (in a dorian, the dominant isn't D, which is major, or e, which is a form of v, but actually G, which is VIII), etc. that's the point of all alternate tonal structures, really - it's not the size of the pitch class set, but how you use it
  8. 20/200 is all it takes to be legally blind? whew, i'm legally eyeless, then.
  9. if you were to send me a list of what mods i should use for the first time through the game that make the game run smoother, i'd appreciate it.
  10. i remember what cpu you've got, man. i put it in there, didn't i? =) my gaming system is an i7 860 (2.8ghz x 4, plus HT) with a core 216 gfx card, so i'm sure i'd kill it. i'll look into it more. which scripts and mods would you recommend? edit: steam's got reunion, too. i know nothing about the storyline - should i play reunion first?
  11. i'm a bit of a new-game snob. i just don't like bad graphics unless they're mario-on-NES kind of bad.
  12. racist? racist how? that's like the racist zombie RE5 thing, where the zombies were black because IT'S IN AFRICA, MORONS.
  13. i got live-a-live as my source a year or two ago, i think.
  14. i saw that on geekologie the other day. thought it was pretty cool.
  15. i can't touch mmo's right now. too dangerous, if you know what i mean =) i keep having mixed feelings about EVE online, though - some people say that it's awesome, some hardcore players say it's boring as hell and anyone trying to get into it now is going to be helplessly behind in exp and levels. i knew about freespace 2's graphics updates. are they finished? last i heard, they only had like half the game updated.
  16. see the title. freelancer was good because of a solid (if cliched) storyline, simple interface that didn't require a joystick or a ridiculous number of button macros, and fun, complex combat. considering the game came out in 2003, the graphics in-flight are ridiculously good, too. way better than i'd have expected. i like newer games, and i'd love to try X3: Terran Conflict, but i've heard stories of it not running on w7 machines, or utilizing more than one core in a multicore system or more than 2gb of ram - which is ridiculous for a game has been getting expansions for years. does anyone know if it runs on w7? beyond that, what are some good games to try out? i'd prefer a relatively new game, and DorkStar One does not count (worst story and voice acting EVER. i'd rather they didn't have anything at all).
  17. i just saw this film tonight. sorry for the necrobump, guys =( SPOILER ALERT. i really enjoyed it - particularly the filming style. very graphic (i'm not talking about the blood and gore, although that was pretty serious too). i REALLY liked the storyline, particularly. i thought it was excellent, all considering. probably my favorite thing (once i figured out that i needed to turn subtitles on to understand what the heck the aliens were saying) about the movie was that there was NO backstory given whatsoever. they just were. no hard info regarding where the aliens came from, why they were living in such filth in the ship, or why "christopher johnson" was so technologically knowledgeable. loved it. want the bluray now.
  18. i WANT to, doug. pick a topic!
  19. good to see we're keeping the ppr in the ppr section nice track, though, analoq. if and when the pkmn project ever releases, you'll notice my track is in a mix of dorian and traditional minor, and it's just a retonicization of the original track (regardless of what the judges decision on it was, with them saying that it didn't sound like there was any source in it). it turned out pretty good, i think.
