Sorry, I get pissy when I see clipping in modern games. This is not why you play $500+ for a game console expecting eye candy if the rest of the game is horrible. Unfortunately, Force Unleashed is not even a good rental. The game design and even the most basics of basics in graphical design was a total mess. The patented "Jedi Snail Physics" is just laughable IMO. Half Life 2 did it way better years ago. I actually would not even recommend this as a rental. And oh yeah, I beat the whole damn thing in two days. Horrible dollar to gaming ration.

Oh get the hell over it. It's next gen over PS2 and that's where the argument comes from. Clipping is so last gen. Current gen, happy? Whatever.

I think there's some shaky cam aspect there. But again, I think the action was simply too dark to really see WTF was actually going on at times. Batman Begins had the same exact problem. Nolan really isn't an action movie director by nature anyway. Both his Batman movies were far more about the psychological and political implications of Batman than him being a superhero. That's why we saw so few of pure Batman scenes compared to scenes of other people and Joker causing mayhem.

MM2 does have a few trouble spots though. Namely the dragon and the beams of light that can kill instantly. It's much less forgiving than MM3, and that's why I think MM3 is the more fun and complete game. Though MM3 has its share of tough boss battles and crazier gauntlet of boss robot battles.

Are there any games you guys play over and over again?

I think it's safe to say that CoD4 is soon entering a legacy phase. Because after about 25 games between purchasing Call of Duty 4 and now putting about 200 hours of gameplay into Soul Calibur 4, I went back to CoD4 and I'm pretty convinced no other FPS games will even touch CoD4 for a while. At least until the rumored sci-fi Call of Duty 6 is made by Infinity Ward. -
I think it's fine to say SMRPG is one of the best traditional JRPG style RPGs. The overworld system with the Mario jumping aspect is still one of the best over-world systems out there. The battle is simplified, but it doesn't feel dumbed down or too long in the tooth by the time you fight the final and extra bosses. I'm still partial towards games like Vesperia now (AMAZING battle system) and FF7 (still the best overall JRPG story IMO) and Suikoden, Xenogears/saga and Star Ocean games. But I think SMRPG is a great mention. I would say it is probably one of the most tightly made JRPGs and to me, easily the best Mario spinoff. But then again, the five Paper Mario games were pretty amazing too. But they didn't quite have the burst of original ideas SMRPG had with the attack/defense timing, the real time overworld (Paper Mario games had some and then just blew open that aspect with Super Paper Mario. Pretty shallow game but great at that overworld stuff I guess), etc.

Sorry, but I think this game is just far too ancient. MM2 was the turning point, but MM3 just had the most going for it since you basically fight 16 robot bosses and the story was just amazing with the introduction of Protoman.

Because most EA games are on CDs where you are supposed to have pure and total control over the property while digitally downloaded ones gives off the illusion that it is more like a rental? That said, I hate Steam too. DRM in all forms. That said, it's understandable why they do it. PC gaming is totally ravaged from piracy and DRMs are not solving the problem.

After watching the GameTrailers review and others, I don't even want to rent this game anymore. Clipping issues? In my next gen console?

3 to 5. Geez, that is a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.................................NOT.

Isn't it a normal dust/sand storm with the addition of light refraction? Like how the sky is tinted red/pink in twilights?

I played it to death and frankly, the SNES one will do. Nintendo actually heard a hardcore gaming opinion. zomg

There's simply a lot more detail on the SC4 Apprentice than otherwise. Force Unleashed looks pretty terrible to me BTW.. Also, Yoda simply couldn't look much better visually. Though I wish he wasn't so slow on his feet.
-
Well, it was meant to be an update because I find it strange that they would be still stuck over it. Then again, I never liked DRMs, ever. I don't even like it when Steam does something even remotely similar to it.

Hmm, that was Bamboo Blade. A not-too-serious sports anime with lots of cute, funny antics. That show is waiting for the manga to catch up so it can have another season. It was a bit of an unexpected hit.

Wow. You say it as a joke then retort seriously? Every game we play are GAMES. OOH, GET OVER IT. Get over yourself. N64 was flimsy competition but I think Dreamcast actually did have more worthwhile games overall. Especially its arcade game lineup which was like a hardcore gamer's dream. And I still think the Dreamcast actually might have had a bit of an edge over the PS2 at least in terms of color palette. PS2 games have always looked slightly greyish and muddy. Not with Dreamcast. But really, I think the Dreamcast was like the Apple in their struggling days. Doing daring things even in the face of slacking sales and even less popular attention. I still don't think most companies can come close to the innovative spirit of Sega when they were seriously going at it in the console war. Some people argue they were maybe too innovative for their own good, because nobody really knew what kinds of games they were pushing out. And many of them stemmed from their arcade roots so they weren't exactly console-friendly.

The Amazon reviews for Spore is hilarious. It's down to maybe a star and a half at the most. Apparently the customer support treats you like a pirating criminal if you use up your three installs.

I agree. In terms of its raw plot points, some are just ridiculous, incredulous or outright stupid. It's like none of the Black Knights have any brains. "ooh, Zero 'betrayed' us so we must act against him even when we know he's up to crazy mindgames every day". It's like they forgot how cunning LeLouch was from the beginning and that's just infuriating because it looks like the characters are dumber than they let on. And speaking of Eureka 7, there's that new Bounen no Xamdou show that is made by the exact same staff and it basically has the same quality of storytelling and animation quality. I think Playstation Network has them, but pirates are putting it out on the net anyway. And totally apparently online piracy video sites like Crunchyroll.

Cho Aniki is actually not bad. Pretty decent shooter with a lot of references to sperm.

It was at a normal GameStop. I've actually seen the whole Xenosaga trilogy go roughly for $15 at both. I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky finding it. I assume most stores would have tons of old RPGs for stock. Some really good deals as far as old PS2 RPGs go nowadays. Unless it's somewhat rare and still in demand like Disgaea.

I'd say Shugo Chara has had a whole great year (easily the best magical girl series ever made. Just amazing writing and production) and Geass sorta feels like it's falling apart but it's still a very good watch if at least for the gossip factor. Still waiting for the new ef series and the new Umineko no Naku Koro Ni (pseudo-sequel to Higurashi).

Failure or not, it was still a revolution. I mean, if it weren't for the Dreamcast, we might still be dreaming about a consistent online system or Xbox Live wouldn't have been realized sooner. The online really broke things wide open as far as consoles go. And I really liked Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. IMO they're still the only decent 3D Sonic games (if you take out the extracurricular activities like fishing.. but I actually liked fishing in Adventure..) Really, I think Sega thought too broadly and gamers just weren't accepting of Sega thanks to Sony basically taking all the edgy, hardcore gamer types. Also, it's like their development teams for the most part were beaten down by the excess in competition. And their main attraction in arcades obviously is a non-factor now. It's just a huge shame. I think it'd be interesting if Sega was the dominator instead of Nintendo. I keep wondering what craziness Sega would dish out, because in their heyday, Sega was innovating left and right to various degrees of success. Unfortunately mostly in commercial failure.

That old trick. Overrated? YES/NO But yeah, the dialog is plain old OBNOXIOUS and the puzzles maybe even more so. Also, to the thread creator, suck it up and buy some PS2 RPGs. Namely Xenosaga trilogy which must cost $15 total at bargain bins at GameStop. Or Suikoden 3-5 at similar pricing. Oh, and the old Tales games are typically at $15 or so. Amazing deals.

College: Both university and community
I-n-j-i-n replied to Darth Lime's topic in General Discussion
Really, I find that in experience alone that a school name really doesn't mean shit. It's all about the faculty's expertise in actual teaching (screw them if all they care about is their own academic ventures. Schools boasting about their achievement is just that: boasting. It typically doesn't help the students unless they're interested in joining in on the action themselves). Just worry about the learning, getting comfortable (dorms, proximity to shopping/eatery areas) and getting the degree. Everything else is really the sparkly topping they use to attract students. Hell, I would have gladly skipped school altogether if I was able to get a good internship. College is bullshit for the most part (unless you are aiming for purely technical education). -
Ashelotte basically had 3/4th the reach of Astaroth and is much smaller. And considering most of Astaroth's game is about his ridiculous reach, that is major handicap. As for impacts, I've seen some people do it with fair accuracy and I actually got an achievement for 200 guard impact (I think that was the number) and I did it all online. It's more of a 'what the hell, I think I'll try to guard impact and pray it works' kind of thing than something you can whip out every time. I think it's like a much less reliable version of the Dead or Alive counters. Also, I find that Algol has a surprising lack of weaknesses for the most part and you can play him like you would with Megaman. Just blast your blaster away and mix up the sidestep bubbles and the straight bubbles and it gives even very good players a lot of problems. Then you can teleport behind them and launch them into the air with attacks. I love Algol.
