  1. Hey tweek, I noticed some of your singles on Spotify. How did you get your stuff on there?
  2. I know it was mentioned earlier, and I did indeed do some experimenting with that idea. The thing is, I'm not that great at the sidechaining thing yet. I just started working with the "sidechain" present in GrossBeat on this remix, and it was a real bitch and a half to get the wobble bass timing the way I wanted it. I kinda didn't want to mess with it anymore unless I absolutely had to. Also, I don't know of any other way to sidechain, due to my noobishness. Anyway, update coming soon!
  3. Thanks 99. That's exactly what I need to know. I'll work on separating the frequency range that the bass and kick are working in. And maybe cut off some of the low end decay on the kick as well. I'll try to think of something for the breakdown section, but I'm mainly concerned with the last chorus. I want to throw in more variation, but I cant think of shit. In my original Panic Puppet remix, I made transition into the Gene Gadget Zone for the second half, but I don't want to do that in this one (I plan on making them two separate remixes). I'll see if I can add some elements from Panic Puppet Act 2. That should make things interesting.
  4. Based on the comments I've gotten on some of my mixes, it seems that my headphones (that I got a few months ago) might be boosting the low-end frequencies a bit. I hear more bass in my music than there actually is, and its throwing off my EQing. So, I did some tweaks to my computer's equalizer to offset the bass boost in my headphones. At least then, I should be hearing close to what you guys are hearing. I just wish I realized this alot sooner... Anyway, I've made some more changes to the EQing on this mix, and I would greatly appreciate it if you all could take another listen, and tell me what you think of the volume levels and EQing. I'm sure I'll have to tweak it some more, but its the best I can do until I get some real studio monitors. Updated WIP: http://soundcloud.com/user7666413/panic-attack
  5. I cant beat that fucking game with a regular controller (and I don't mean when I was a kid. I still cant beat it). Good shit man!
  6. Getting mah 3DS tomorrow!!! Wooooo! Do they have black ones? I wanna black one!
  7. Malcos is right from a more technical standpoint, but I was trying to use the best example I could think of, that more people could understand just to get the basic idea of how important it is. It means the difference between getting a good, clean recording and garbled crap. Good point Yoozer. I was talking more about output, than input in my post, but as far as input signals are concerned, you' re correct.
  8. From what I understand... Its like, if you recorded a nice acoustic guitar solo, and for whatever reason, you would like to add a bit of distortion to it, "fuzz" if you will. Its the amount of clean acoustic "sound" coming from your guitar, in comparison to the "distortion, or fuzz" effects being added to it. I can whip up some audio examples if I need to. But basically, you don't want too much noise (unorganized sounds) overwhelming your good clean signal.
  9. I wish I could stand playing COD. I would join you. There are just some issues I have with the game that makes it very frustrating for me, mostly getting shot from around the corners.
  10. Hmm. I understand what you mean. I honestly didn't think the judges would have this up on the panel so soon. I can try to do a ninja edit before the judges get to it and fatten up those pads a bit. I tried all of the piano samples I had, but this one was the only one that sounded like it fits. I didn't really want it to sound that realistic, so I tweaked the EQing a bit to make it sound a brighter than it really is. I can work on it a bit more though. I admit, ending a song is not really my strong point, especially when I'm juggling between quite a few mixes.
  11. What, you'd rather go to hell with someone you know?
  12. Its posted on minecraft.net, but it seems like you have to actually buy it before you get the gift code. Its not available for people that already have the game. That would be crazy if it was. The number of Minecraft players could double and Notch wont see a dime from it.
  13. Well, I appears my original idea for this thread was a bust, but there's no reason not to discuss why Spotify is so awesome. I honestly do see myself buying another album as long as I have this program.
  14. I thought you were serious too. They do still do that in many countries, but its mostly for stealing. You don't wanna know what happens to sex offenders...
  15. I imagine it would be like a multiplayer Kingdom Hearts. Hopefully, it wont be split screen though.
  16. To add further complication to this: I just ran the same speed tests through our wireless network on my, and my girlfriend's laptop from the cox New Orleans speed test site. The tests results were dramatically different. My computer is getting about 4Mbps down, 2 up, and my girl's computer is showing 14 down, 3 up. This is making me think there's a issue with the router. But when I use my girl's laptop to download something, I once again get the low download speeds I experienced on my PC that's wired to the router. Now, I'm thinking, "router problem," but when hooking up the cable modem directly to my PC, I still see the good speed test results and experience the same slow downloading speeds again, which makes it seem like there is something wrong with the modem.
  17. I am experiencing extremely slow internet speeds when trying to download stuff, watch netflix, and use my PS3, Wii, Vonage VoIP, printer, and our laptops on our wireless network, and my PC on the wired connection. I keep my systems pretty well maintained and trouble-free. So, I don't see how my computers could be causing the problem. Especially since the networking was working perfectly before I switched ISPs. I've done basic trouble shooting, which include resetting the modem and wireless router, clearing up temp files and cookies from my browsers, cleaning up my system files, de-fragmenting, scanning for viruses, and disconnecting the internet input cable from my surge protector so it just goes directly to the modem. (though, I'm positive thats not causing a problem). When I go to speedtest.net to check my internet speed from the server recommended by my ISP, the one in New Orleans, it ALWAYS says that I am getting about 15-20 Mbps down, and about 2-5 Mbps up. Ping times range between 15-45 ms. Almost identical results come from the ISP's own speed test site: http://speedtest.no.cox.net/ So, you would think its really decent enough speed to run a small network such as mine, mind you, I don't usually have all of that stuff running on the network at the same time, ever. What I don't understand is this, with that speed they claim I'm getting, why do my downloads take so long to complete? Average download speed from any site/server is around 350Kbps on my desktop, that is wired to the wireless router, and I'm getting dial-up speeds when surfing and downloading on our laptops and viewing Netflix on our gaming systems. Large files take a looooooooong time to download. It took me about 30 minutes to download a 100MB file. I' haven't had to wait 30 minutes to download shit in a very long time. But, according to my ISP tech support and their tests results, I am getting the proper speeds that I am paying for. Now, when I used a server that is actually closer to my home, it tells me that I'm getting about 3-4 Mbps down, and 1-3 Mbps up. This actually seems more like the speed I'm getting, but my ISP insist that that particular server's test results are wrong, and theirs is right. I can't seem to get them to understand that, despite what their test results say, I am not experiencing that type of speed on my network. If I was, there is absolutely no reason why I should be having such lag problems. I am having difficulty understanding why though. What is going so wrong between the speed that the modem is supposedly getting, and what my router is actually putting out? Is there an issue on my end, or is there something wrong with the modem they supplied me with? Or, is it the signal itself? Maybe a short in a cable? Or is the router dying? I just don't freaking know anymore! I've checked everything, piece by piece. I cant understand it. I've never been so stomped by a network issue like this. I have a tech coming by Saturday, and I want to have a better idea as to what is going on so I can tell him, "Hey, its your shit that's causing the problem!," or at least, know if it is my router.
  18. On that note, how the hell did he/she get more subscribers than me? Yeah, I'm hatin'
  19. Yeah, its over by my house. I remember seeing a sign that said it was his.
  20. I might make a remix when I get home too.
  21. What the shit is this fuck? Yeah, but...
  22. Very well done! I never played the game, but this makes me want to give it a try. It also reminds me that I gotta do some grinding. Gotta get my music skillz up to par.
