It's too bad that Master of Disguise was so supposedly mediocre - the Wario platformer games are one of my favorite series of games ever. It's too bad WarioWare and this game are pretty much killing it...

And some people....might not....have a Wii yet. So I'll be satisfied. I probably want to get MP8 as well - have you guys seen screenshots? It should be at LEAST as good as 6 was for me (didn't get 7), except hopefully looking much better and without all the magical sun/moon crap I had to deal with. Might reinvigorate it if they decide to switch things up a bit.

I'm not willing to say any console is bad if good games aren't out for it yet. So, to the PS3, I have absolutely no judgement until A) I play it and like/dislike it or A game that looks fun to me will come out for it. I'm getting the Wii because I had a great (though sparse) time with Gamecube and I know many of the franchises will reappear. Since I like those franchises (more or less Prime 3, Brawl, Galaxy and Metal Slug Anthology will sell it for me), I know I'm going to like it. Plus, I played a couple games and it seemed like a fun concept. If, for free, I could choose a console I'd probably pick the 360. But since money enters into it (I need to work up cash myself) the Wii is for me, supposing I can find one. Anyway, blah blah. The PS3 looks amazing. People saying it's going to fail clearly WANT it to fail. Its online service is just being born and I believe some good games are on the horizon. I only pick the 360 over it because the good games are already a certainty.

I'm going to retry Lethal Lava Land from scratch with a new concept. Again, as my remix ideas never tend to pan out, please don't put me with that track until I at least have a WIP down - just know that I'm at least doing something with it. I really want to be involved with this project as it is one of my favorite games of all time and the soundtrack is ingrained in my mind from when I was a kid.

Well, if anyone's interested, or if Zoola wants to take another one (which I doubt and that's perfectly fine), here's my quick sketch. www.silverlinestudios.net/Mp3's/RoadToBowserWIP.mp3 Hey, this is great! I hope that since it probably won't be allowed on the project (which is too bad) you will still wind up doing something with it.

Oh, I was under the impression that "Main Theme" was Bob-omb Battlefield and that this theme he remixed, the File Select theme, was taken by andyjayne. Regardless, yes, this is very nice. Question about the rules. If in a case like this, would one be allowed to join a track which is already taken and if the coordinators decide it is better, potentially replace said track with his own? I know the other projects have allowed a system like this. If all the tracks are taken and a really good remixer wants to sign on, is he out of luck? EDIT: I've been screwing around with Lethal Lava Land. No guarantees, as it sounds bad as of right now. We'll see.

Damn. Nice work at that age 11 vid. I'd like to see a current vid of him playing.... but I know you're still uploading.

I think I'll be in if I can remember. I suck, but why not?

How many songs do you have on your mp3 player?
Antipode replied to EdgeCrusher's topic in General Discussion
Damn that's a lot of music. I have about 3500 so far on a 30 gig ipod. The thing is, I've tried to keep it narrowed down considerably - I once spent about 4 hours going through my music, deleting what I didn't like, sampling and deciding, and fixing the multitude of shitty ID3 tags. What a horrible day that was. Anyway, I keep current with it now and just do all that as I add stuff. But honestly. Even if I DIDN'T do that I can't possibly imagine having 12000 songs, and I love music. Did you just like...rip and download everything you could find? -
Any cheapasses? Better get to a Best Buy asap...
Antipode replied to Bahamut's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure I trust them enough for that. I mean, if I bought a lot of games and they refused to refund I'd be out of a lot of money. Why should they allow "price adjusting" for customers who bought on a day when the clearance wasn't even going on? -

Antipode replied to Bahamut's topic in General Discussion
So like I said - I went to Best Buy. "Hey, I heard about some video game clearance going on today. Is that still on?" "...duh?" So he asked one of his coworkers who said that apparantly it WAS indeed on but it was all cleared out in the morning in the first hour. Damn. -

I'll scout out one or two best buys tomorrow afternoon in San Diego and tell you guys if there's anything good or not. I'm mostly for myself in the market for Mario Party 7, Four Swords Adventures, Sonic Gems and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. If I get at least one of those I'll be happy. -
Do you guys post saved emu replays of various rounds? Might be fun just to make it more public for the people who may suck at this game.

I'll start off by saying that I can't listen to this right now - I'm in school at the moment. However, I can also say that I remember this was one of the four "winners" that I picked out of that competition (along with sinewav, TO and chthonic, I believe), and I remember liking it, so I look forward to listening when I get home. Anyway, since this was the only competition I ever participated in myself, I can tell you it was actually OVGMC3, not 2. But whatever, doesn't matter too much. I'll edit this post later once I listen to your revamp! And WHERE IS OVGMC4, anyway? EDIT: Okay, so I've listened! I definitely can tell that you've cleaned this up quite a bit. The new samples and slight alterations in sequencing really improve this a lot, and my previous comments still apply - I really thought this was well done and should have been better received. I honestly have only one issue with your remake, and that's right at :37 when there is a three-note bass run going down and all of the notes cut off quickly. That's a really minor issue though and it only seems to happen once. This is definitely clean, smooth, and much improved! I look forward to the track that you're making with samples from this.

So. What you're really saying here is that you want to know where the "vibe" and the "scene" are at. Well obviously check out the different forums here, but I'd recommend you check out http://www.thasauce.net, which is a sort of news hub for the whole remixing community. There's a unique set of remixes found there as well. Obviously for most remixes come here, but once vgmix.com gets back in action it will give you another option with different standards. Listen to ormgas radio at http://oc.ormgas.com to hear constant shuffled, streaming remixes. Lastly, I'd suggest that once you listen to a lot of the remixes and find some you like, check out the Albums (site projects) found here.

I disagree. I don't know about you, but I can tell you that if I'd played something like wind waker or mario sunshine when I was a little kid I would have been blown away. Playing them as a teenager was still a very enjoyable and memorable experience. Maybe your tastes have just changed. Anyway, I agree with the sentiment in this thread that Sega should strip the characters and reduce them to Robotnik, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Once they develop a winning formula I agree that they should consider making 3D games (or perhaps just one) with the plots of Sonics 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles. Or maybe they could actually come up with a new and original plot which fits in the style and continuity. It hasn't seemed to have happened yet...

But it WOULD be cool to play virtual console games on it! But only if it was under $150. And if you're thinking of the N-Gage as an example, I'd mention the comparison of the Game.com and the DS. Both were online capable, touchscreen handhelds. Yet the Game.com was a miserable failure and the DS is the #1 handheld currently on the market. I think they could pull off a Nin-Gage if they did it right.

Personally I also enjoyed Sonic Advance, Sonic Rush, 3d blast and Spinball in addition to the standard 1 2 3 and Knuckles. Other than those, I've played Sonic Adventure but it wasn't quite right. The cheese OVERFLOWED from that game, and it wasn't even good cheese. Still, it was a game I played a lot when I was a kid, and so it's got sentimental value for me. I hear that the new 3d ones have gone completely downhill since Adventure, so I haven't purchased one since. The most recent sonic game I've bought was Mega Collection, which wasn't even a sonic game in it's own right. Those screenshots for the new Sonic got my hopes up so high. It's a damn shame it couldn't live up to its name. Maybe someday soon they'll get the hedgehog back on track.

Prime 2 had too many enemies that were only in one or two rooms in the game and too many weapons/items that were only applicable in one or two other rooms. I need cleverer useage of less (but equally interesting) items in Prime 3. I'm sad however that there won't be switchable beams in Prime 3. That was one of my favorite aspects and one of the real shining points of the previous two games. Personally, I liked Prime 2's dark world and the idea that you could switch back and forth. Plus, getting the light suit was just so REFRESHING. It's too bad there was that damn 10-15 second cutscene whenever you went back and forth between the worlds. I might have liked a quicker transition time.

OCRA-0008 - Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos
Antipode replied to SnappleMan's topic in Album Reviews & Comments
I think it's more because Snapple made the song, and that section is part of the song. If you edit it down it's not entirely his song anymore. Sort of like an insult to his original idea. -
djdolber (GaMeBoX) Releases on Reunion!!!!
Antipode replied to Platonist's topic in Post Your Original Music!
I already posted this in the thread about Reunion in gendisc, but I really enjoy this track. The chord changes are really nice and the solos he has in it are great. -
Didn't you click the link? The mockup they provide looks a lot like a wiimote to me... And heh, if I had to choose between this and an iPhone I'd probably take this, depending on specs...if I want a cell phone, I wouldn't care about a touch screen or web browsing or ipod capabilities. But I wouldn't mind a random mario game on it. And wii connectability would certainly be interesting. By the way, I don't think this is ever going to happen. Doesn't sound at all like something nintendo would have in mind.

Usually I'm only looking for a song on a P2P client where I know the artist and title anyway - but it sucks that this problem is so widespread.
-
Excellent. I don't care about my pride, so I'll freely admit that I'll need that. This will drastically increase my enjoyment of this game, and it pretty much means that I'll have to buy it.
