Instrumental & Vocal Skills (Other)

  1. This is something I put together really quickly, and I want to know if the instrument quality is up to par. Thanks!:) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1g7mbZMuCMpxs8gcqaDvR0DDfURMvPTOE I fiddled with the lead guitar a bit, toggled off something called "doubling", and dialed down the reverb.
  2. The mixing is a bit off, I'll admit. I also want to throw in a solo or something to add more original content and make it more of a "ReMix" know what I mean? https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/891396
  3. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/893733 My main concern here is the solo. It's not quite where I want it to be, but I can fix it. Eventually. Critiques welcome.
  4. This is a piece I composed with Wassup Thunder. And yes, it is another Song of Storms. The intent was to explore the source material liberally and make a somewhat memorable arrangement. Still working on better production with synthesizers, so any tips are appreciated. Thanks for listening! The original, just in case.
  5. I'm not sure where to go with this one. I'm thinking full reggae would be a good idea. The mixing is a mess due to the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing mixing live instruments. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/892621
  6. I wanted to go a slightly different route with this rearrangement. More atmosphere, a dark, ambient piece that still has the trap feel. A few mixing/volume level issues here, but I consider it almost complete. Honestly, my biggest concern is that it doesn't resemble the source material enough to be accepted. Anyway, it's part of a planned album for S3&K. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/890207 Feel free to suggest an alternate title.
  7. Hello everyone! It's me, and I am once again up to no good. Here is my latest work in progress. My goal is to recreate the original track closely and then add new elements on top!
  8. This is a mix I've been trying to solidify for a few months now. Imil has a captivating, homey feeling that welcomes you in and seats you next to a warm fire. I wanted to take it out into the frozen woods under an aurora lit sky. Poetics aside, this is the product of an amateur playing with equipment that's probably out of his league (EW Symphonic Orchestra and Sytrus), so I welcome any tips/hints/critiques that could help me make this a more complete song. Thank you, and enjoy! Original
  9. Hi! It's been a while since I've asked for feedback. I made an orchestral cover of the Mass Effect main theme. What do you think? Arrangement improvements? Mixing improvements? Instrument swaps? By the way, this song will not be submitted to OCReMix for consideration. Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Update: My cover: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/main-theme-mass-effectv10 Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVm_ljDSdwA
  10. Hi! This is a pseudo-cover of the theme for Act 3 in Sonic Advance 3, Ocean Base. I already know what I can "improve" to make the track more musical but I'd like to hear your thoughts as well. Cheers! (Note: I posted this first in the wrong category of forums, but since my piece is a really loose remix and also has a lot of original material, I'm not sure whether I should delete my original post yet. Mods can delete the first one if they want.)
  11. Hello everyone! I've been trying to branch our with my remixes lately, so I tried more a dance style for this one I suppose. I'm still pretty new to this style of remix, so there's probably gonna be a lot of issues with mixing, mastering, and, well, probably everything. I tried to listen to see what I could find what was wrong on my own, but I just don't think I'm skilled enough to hear what else is wrong at this point. Newest version link: https://app.box.com/s/lvpvf96fu27nt0j7omtvlw400opx7iqi and here's a link to the source: again, I already know there's probably a lot of issues, but I really want to improve with this kind of music so hopefully I can get some help! Thanks!
  12. Due to the fact that this piece has two different sections that crash together, I'm strongly considering a gapless mix of all the main level themes and the boss themes as an album. I'm not going to make any other commentary, I'll just post the link now. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/885604?updated=1570105545
  13. Right now, it's just a concept track made with SEGA Genesis sounds. Obviously, the finished product will not be like that. I've been thinking about this for years, and whether it would really work or not. So far, I haven't found any remixes like this. What is it like? An Insane Clown Posse inspired remix of Sonic 3's Carnival Night Zone music. I always thought that the song Hokus Pokus would blend well with Sonic 3's Carnival Night Zone music, so I finally started this project. I'd like to know if I should go forward with this, knowing full well that I could emulate the style of ICP to the T. Here's the audio link: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/883481 It's supposed to loop, but in the preview, it's not doing so properly. It should be fixed when the audio is published to the site.
  14. Here is my concept of Norfair so far if Kenji Yamamoto had recreated it for use in Metroid Prime!

  16. This is a source I've been working on for probably the longest out of any of them. It's gone through hip hop, orchestral jazz, and now Gypsy jazz iterations. I'm gonna stick with the Gypsy jazz arrangement and take it to the end. Source: ReMix: Super Django Brothers
  17. Zelda OOT - Lost Woods (Dreamland Remix).mp3 I'm getting serious about polishing this piece of music and wondering what is it missing, if anything. Do I still need to fill it in more? I want to add acoustic percussion to do some of the drum n bass bits. I still need to do more mixing and make better use of reverb and improve the percussion a ltitle bit. Not sure what other polish I could add. My goal is to keep the minimalistic vibe and chiptune vibe, make it overall easy on the ears. ...not sure about the title.
  18. Lots of issues with this one right now, but I'll hammer them out eventually. Nonetheless, feedback is welcome. Here it is https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/878175
  19. Preview here. Looking for feedback, although I do know what direction I want to take from here.
  20. I thought it was about time this classic game soundtrack got some love. This has been one of my favorite soundtracks since I was a wee lad, and I'm stunned that there is nothing on OC Remix for it. This is my first attempt in a long long time at a remix, and I think it has finally reached a point where it needs some fresh ears. There was going to be a much longer version, but I can't seem to get what I want to work, so after many months of piddling and getting nowhere, I decided a short version would have to do...for now. All instruments are from the EW/QL Hollywood series except the piano which came from Ensemble 88 (which came with my keyboard). This is the closest to the original as it sounded on my beloved Apple IIGS that I have found so far
  21. Version 2 of Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger. I didn't like the drum track to the original version I had done, so I changed it up, added a different beginning, among a few other things. Let me know what you think. Corridors of Time (EchoGhost Remix)
