  1. This is a track based on FFVI Phantom Forest: Feedback is always very welcome
  2. Working on the whole FFVI soundtrack right now and I jusy finished this one up today. Mostly a cover but I added a number of lines and changed up orchestration quite a bit. Would love to hear what you all think: For the other FFVI tracks, here's a playlist:
  3. First attempt ever at remixing VGM, no clue why it took this long because I love it and was so influenced by it. Welp here is some Banjo-Kazooie goodness, isn't perfect but please tell me what you think! Been lurking here for years; I've decided to finally poke my head in and get involved. Thanks for listening! https://soundcloud.com/shoveknack/pimp-slap-your-jinjo
  4. Pretty straightforward but I'm trying to actually make things now that would be somewhat digestible to regular humans instead of wanting to destroy people musically. People don't want to be destroyed musically if they've never heard of you, it seems. The struggle is real! Thanks for listening! https://soundcloud.com/shoveknack/center-for-ants
  5. https://soundcloud.com/kekopro/one-spirit This one was very interesting; the client wanted a piece to represent five members of a family. They wanted five segments devoted to the personalities of each, with a recurring melody throughout to tie them together. They also wanted the song to incorporate both Japanese/East Asian and Irish influences, as those are the two cultures the family is supposed to be based on (it ended up leaning more heavily on the Asian side; guess that's just where I gravitated stylistically). Anyway, it was a good exercise ended up being a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for listening!
  6. Hey everyone, Just finished this cover of the Prelude in its first complete form in FF4. Would love to hear any feedback that you have!
  7. I've wanted to work on this track for a long time, but after starting an arrangement I realised the content of the actual mix is fairly thin so I decided to make a hybrid of a piano cover and a usual orchestral arrangement. The percussion was really the main focus for the second part so the rest of the arrangement is slightly too thick in some places and too thin in others, but I feel like the original shines through quite nicely. Also first time using a trumpet so if it sounds a little forced it's because I haven't gotten used to writing for it yet.
  8. I plan to submit this but first I wanted to drop this here for people to hear. Opinions, comments and suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated! https://soundcloud.com/lime-trees/sapphire-rain
  9. Edit: new link: Hi! A bit late to the bandwagon, just got Shovel Knight and it's amazing soundtrack a few weeks back. Here's a bass-heavy electronic remix combining the tracks "Strike the Earth!" and "An Underlying Problem". Sources: https://virt.bandcamp.com/track/strike-the-earth-plains-of-passage https://virt.bandcamp.com/track/an-underlying-problem-the-lost-city If anyone has any comments, I'd love to hear them. I'll put the final version out on Monday evening (going on a holiday). I can take any feedback into consideration before that. (Not going to submit as an OCRemix - the structure is probably a bit too odd for that, and it follows the original melodies pretty closely.)
  10. Hey guys just need some advice/help for a remix I submitted. Here are some problems noted that I got back from someone: Percussion-style SFX from :58-1:05 Electric guitar sample - first used from 2:25-3:22 Stomp/crunch sound - first used from 3:16-3:21 Piano sequencing exposed as rigid, e.g. 3:24-3:36, 3:44-3:47 Very exposed, unnatural-sounding string articulations and decays 7:52, 7:55, 8:14 I really love this mix, and I want it to be really good in order for it to be accepted. If anyone wants to drop their 2 cents or even collab a little bit, I would widely appreciate it! Articulations and all! :350:Here is the song: and here is the actual audio file http://www.2shared.com/audio/je2fvTKu/Fire_Emblem_-_For_The_Commande.html
  11. The part of me that adores games like Port Royale, High Seas Trader, Pirates, Monkey Island and POTBS got a bit restless, so I made a track called "The Old Captain". https://soundcloud.com/fredrikdronen It's all the way up there, by the 508 bottles of beer on the wall.
  12. Been working on this one for a few days. Tried to stick pretty closely to the original tempo and work around it.
  13. Hi everyone. Here's my new cover, wicked child, with a little surprise for all Deep Purple fans out there Please dont hesitate to post your suggestions, comments or anything. Here is the video version: But since youtube's compression sword is legendary. Here's the HQ mp3 https://soundcloud.com/the-game-civilization/castlevania-wicked-child-a-deep-purple-tribute Greetings from México
  14. Hey guys, just wanted to share an original track I've been working on for awhile called Frozen White. I've been having a lot of trouble creatively lately, and haven't felt very inspired, so it's nice to finally have something to share again! It's a bit on the chilly (heh) side, with a bright piano playing the lead. Check it out! Comments, critiques and all that are always welcome.
  15. hey everyone, just thought i'd post this mix i've been messing around with for a little while. Originally it was a medieval reinterpretation of SA's Flag In The Ground but I ended up adding a few things to it over time. Production wise I really tried to emulate some layered reverb techniques found in Soule's Elder Scrolls OST's. A short time ago I asked him about how he approaches using reverb and he said to just treat it like mic placements so, using a bunch of reverb instances, i emulated various mic placements in the soundscape i was trying to set up. Enjoy!

  17. https://soundcloud.com/air3s/air-a-nova I'm going Brazilian peoples I’v always enjoyed the Latin sound, especially the bossa and samba sounds. For this record, I wanted to integrate those sounds with my own twist.
  18. I always wanted to remix Dark World from lttp, and i always thought that it would fit into a 7/8 rhythm (and i was right). Not finished yet, but here's what i've got so far. Remix: https://app.box.com/s/qmjsrz4t86go1xrkaj7hw662iflng5ng Source: http://youtu.be/fde_HaMXCo8 Definitely a more faithful approach, do you agree?
  19. http://youtu.be/QizEZZ5D3vU Hey all, here's the latest. One of my earliest favorites, hope you like it!
  20. A drummer friend of mine wanted to create a drum 'n bass-ish groove for Castlevania's Wicked Child song by using the original game song and adding some sub bass to it. I thought we could do better and I started covering the song from scratch. As always things got out of hand and it turned into a groovy chiptune DnB combo with live drums of Wicked Child with vocoded voices. Source: Final version: https://soundcloud.com/jorito/wicked-chip-feat-erik-vreven Earlier versions: V1: http://www.jorito.net/files/Wicked%20Child/Wicked%20Chip_20150223.mp3 V2: http://www.jorito.net/files/Wicked%20Child/Wicked%20Chip_20150225.mp3 V3: http://www.jorito.net/files/Wicked%20Child/Wicked%20Chip_20150301.mp3 Had some problems with getting the vocoder voices understandable, so here's the lyrics: Wicked child / In the lair / Dracula /See you there. Even tho the vox aren't that great it adds a nice tapestry to the song
  21. https://soundcloud.com/williamthurin/seven-sins-struggle Might be a bit too much going at some parts, what do you think?
  22. Hey guys I just joined this site but i've been making music for a few years now. I just finished a remix of one of my favorite trance songs, and I think it's my best song to date. Would love to get some other opinions of it:
  23. Hi, this is my first post here but i've been making vgm remixes for a few years now. Would love some feedback about this remix from Donkey Kong Country 2: https://soundcloud.com/sunn-5/hothead-bop-fantasy-flow-mix
