  1. Mute City - F-Zero Orchestral Remix OCRemix newbie here. I recently got into putting bits of music together and it's quite a lot of fun. I submitted this piece already but figured I'd drop it in the forum as well. Let me know what you think!
  2. Hey All! I started this remix after seeing a lot of other people on YouTube making remixes for their dream Smash Bros. characters. I tried to make it sound like music you'd hear on a stage in-game so I wanted it to be really epic and exciting. I'm still pretty amateur when it comes to orchestral composing so I was hoping to get some feedback on the quality of the song and some advice on where I should take it since it's not finished yet. A few things to note: I don't have access to any super high quality orchestral VSTs so I've been trying to squeeze the best sound quality that I can out of free VSTs and the ones that come with FL Studio The drum loop to me seems really repetitive, which is because I actually used an orchestral drum loop for the whole percussion section (I don't have access to orchestral drums either, lol) I'm still struggling with the mixing and mastering for the song. Balancing orchestral instruments is pretty tough and I'd be open to any advice on how to do a better job! I'm not sure if I'm using the various string sections (violins, violas, cello, bass) correctly. I kind of just put the notes in the places I thought sounded best I'd love to hear people's thoughts on the track and any feedback for making it better! Here's my track: And here's the original song for reference: Anyways, Dragonborn for Smash!
  3. I finished my new original song "Virtual Quest 1". It's kind of futuristic theme, composed with video games, movies and animations in mind. This is my first release where I use synth and orchestral elements together. Here is the song: How did you feel about this song? I'm very interested to hear your thoughts about where you would hear this kind of music.
  4. Hi there, I postet this piece almost exactly five years ago in a very early version (it was actually more of a MIDI mockup) and now in the last few weeks I've been working on it again very intensively. The whole thing was recorded with new and – hopefully – more realistic orchestral samples and re-arranged here and there. I would be happy to get some feedback, especially on the mix or the sound in general and what could be improved. Synthetically realizing an entire orchestra on a PC is really a science in itself (at least for me) and I must honestly admit that it took me at least two to three times as long for recording and mixing in the sequencer that for the actual composition in the notation program. On youtube with excerpts from both score and sequencer Thanks for your feedback Dustin
  5. Hi there! I released my original composition "Battle 1" on YouTube! Features orchestral instruments like strings, brass, choirs, big drums, woodwinds... When I composed it, I had this battle atmosphere in mind, but it also could be a very fast paced adventure scene :). You can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0PPXemYoXU Feedback is much appreciated. For example, how do you feel the mix balance in overall?
  6. Hi! It's been a while since I've asked for feedback. I made an orchestral cover of the Mass Effect main theme. What do you think? Arrangement improvements? Mixing improvements? Instrument swaps? By the way, this song will not be submitted to OCReMix for consideration. Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. 7. I thought it was about time this classic game soundtrack got some love. This has been one of my favorite soundtracks since I was a wee lad, and I'm stunned that there is nothing on OC Remix for it. This is my first attempt in a long long time at a remix, and I think it has finally reached a point where it needs some fresh ears. There was going to be a much longer version, but I can't seem to get what I want to work, so after many months of piddling and getting nowhere, I decided a short version would have to do...for now. All instruments are from the EW/QL Hollywood series except the piano which came from Ensemble 88 (which came with my keyboard). This is the closest to the original as it sounded on my beloved Apple IIGS that I have found so far
  8. Hey folks, there's a contest being held on a subreddit for covers of battle themes for games, so I decided to throw my lot in with this piece. Please enjoy!
  9. Hi all, I figured I'd post an original piece of music that I did a while back and was fairly happy with. Let me know what you think! Trouble Brewing I've been trying to create as authenticate an Orchestral template as I can in Cubase, using the Eastwest library, so any thoughts on authenticity would be great. Thanks for listening!
  10. Hello, after posting my first remix here not long ago I tried to use your feedback and made a second one. I kept this in a more classical style. What do you think? 11. If I wrote the soundtrack of a traditional JRPG, the airship theme might sound like this. What if there's no airship? Of course there's an airship.
  12. Hello guys, i made my own interpretation of a battle theme for an rpg like "Final Fantasy" for example. The beginning is inspired from "Donkey Country 2 - Welcome To Crocodile Isle". I still don't know how this piece should end, but i hope you will like it :). https://soundcloud.com/zoda/open-your-mind-battle-theme-wip
  13. Hi friends! I just released my 5th album Search for a Lost Reality!! Search for a Lost Reality is a concept album that encompasses the search and discovery of our own true identity. In this album I fused chiptune with modern electronic, orchestral and rock music with a classic video-game flare. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/searchforlostreality Lemme know what you guys think!
  14. Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted, as the Army has been keeping me busy. This is supposed to be the Stark theme arranged in a sort of war movie hymn style. Thank you for listening.
  15. Hello, I wanted to share two recent tunes here. the first one is an ambiant composition with female choir, 12 chord guitar, flutes, delays, textures and drums that conveys advanture and danger. The second one is a Metal track with guitar solos, bass fills with wah wah pedal and a heavy and tight drum. Hope you guys enjoy it!
