Avatar of Justice
I thought about graduate school, but I decided that I was just plain tired of dealing with college. Every time something I'm looking forward to is going to happen (concert, game/movie/book release, holiday, weekend) there is always some school bullshit looming over it. I'm graduating with my B.S. in Computer Science with Honors from NC State. Hello 9am-5pm where I can go home and be left alone to do whatever I please. By day I'll be doing software development for embedded hardware, by night reading or playing some video games. And I can finally start working on some book ideas I've had without being interrupted by a paper or project.
Kholdstare
frosh RPI Materials Engineering Its really interesting but right now - I'm getting killed by the workload. Alot of schools the dead line is actually May 1st. Anyways, I hope to attend the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute next fall and I plan to major in Biochemistry no way! - if you have any questions about the school -feel free to ask - were you at the accepted students day last week? Broken
It's been a long and hard process coming to a final decision, but I'll be attending RIT this fall. I'm majoring in computer science and I'm going to try (like everyone else and their mother) to take game design as a minor.
prophetik music
would you believe i have only found 1 other person who knows about OCR here? there's only two people here at houghton who knew before i spread the word with my OCR hoodie, shirt, and pimpage (i played my mix for the pkmn project live at a talent show last year, all children under the age of 12 FREAKED). i'm practically a celebrity on campus now, even if no one here has heard of me. everyone wants the video game sax guy around =)

I'm actually surprised considering it seems like a nerdy school. Hell, they have a Magic: The Gathering club from what I can see. Sounds like a school for me. prophetik music
Grad student, third semester (out of 8- 10, depending on whether I go for my IT certificate in the program or just a 36 credit hour MLIS - Master's in Library and Information Science). Got my undergrad in Communication and Theology (don't ask).Library science is one of the easiest master's programs you can take. No dissertation necessary but you're busy as hell. It's a real pain in the ass most days; tuition cleans out my bank account frequently. At least it's relatively short. The work at my library is rewarding, though, and somewhat makes up for the informational theory bullshit I get in some classes. Can't wait to be a full-fledged librarian. i seriously debated going to U of Syracuse (NY) to get my graduate-level librarian sciences degree. i love being a music librarian, but i'm not into dusty old books and moldy scores - i just like the organizational part of the job. Eee yeah, but good luck finding an open full fledged librarian spot, those things tend to only open up when someone dies.

You really learn a lot of interesting material and the orientation program is phenomenal - you will definately feel at home.
Zup
I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Oregon, pursuing the almighty English Major. I'm also looking to minor in Religious Studies and snag a Certificate of Film Studies while I'm at it. All of this to say, what I want to do in graduate school is Creative Writing, so I'm taking as many classes in Creative Writing as possible. Hawkwing
today is declaration day at most universities and colleges around the US. if you haven't declared your intent to attend a college and participate in a program, then you probably aren't going to college next year.i declared for ithaca college's graduate sax performance degree yesterday. i'll be spending the next two years learning crazy things on the sax, like how to play three notes at once and how to triple-tongue and why anyone actually writes that kind of weird crap into music. where are YOU headed next year? say hi to my ex g/f for me
Moseph
Going to go to Washington University in St. Louis this fall for a master's in music composition. I just found out that one of my friends who currently teaches at the school where I did undergrad is also definitely going to Washington University next semester for his doctorate (he held out on his decision longer than I did). And Wash U's going to waive my tuition and pay me a stipend for doing teacher's assistant stuff. To say that things are ideal is almost an understatement. kitty
what major? or undecided?falchion, don't work too hard. it's all work till you die after undergrad, don't forget to party up a bit beforehand =) Haha oh definitely not working hard at all. PSB and Crim have plenty of crossover courses so it won't be too bad for me to double major in that. And as for Education, I want to teach, so working will hopefully be fun for me...and like it should be for everyone who works.

prophetik music
student teaching.yayyyyyyyyyy. just did this last fall. very hard, lots of work, incredibly rewarding. i still go back for concerts, and i'm still Mr. Burr, even when i go with the band directors and half the band to Buffalo Wild Wings afterwords to watch the sabres games =)
Kanthos
Wishing I was still a student, doing some kind of AI/music PhD (something like melody detection would be really cool).
DrumUltimA
I'm currently a junior percussion major at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University! I'm in the studio of Robert Van Sice, who is amazing. My dream is to go to Yale for grad school, where I can continue my studies with Mr. Van Sice, but me going to Yale right after Peabody is not entirely likely. If I can't get in immediately, I'll stay at Peabody for another year or two (doing either a gpd or a masters) and then audition for Yale. The audition process for the percussion studio is EXTREMELY competitive. Brad, did you audition for Peabody when you were looking for grad schools? The sax program here is awesome. You should come
The Xyco
Currently enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I actually went ahead and declared a double-major in History and Political Science with a minor in International Relations the very first day of the semester. Bleccchhhhh..... liberal arts.... (Also looking for an internship in the Washington D.C. area this summer. CSIS, DoD, and State Department are already closed. Any other ideas?) Dunnowhathuh
This is my 4th year at uni (my first 2 years at the University of Western Sydney and the most recent 2 years at the University of New South Wales). I'm a pharmacology major and pathology minor. My first year was spent doing Environmental Health. First half of my second year I transferred to forensic science (was going to specialise in ballistics) and then I transferred again second half of my second year to where I am now. I woulda stayed on in forensics but job positions for that field are scarce here in Australia.
sephfire
Currently enrolled as an Animation grad student at the Savannah College of Arts & Design. However, I was also just accepted to a new program called Animation Mentor and I may be switching over. With luck, I'll finally be able to break into this accused industry within two years and get started with real life at last.
Patrick Burns
what major? or undecided? My scholarship dictates that I must at the least minor in music. I'll probably major, but we'll see how it goes. Richmond doesn't have the most comprehensive music program, but the few music majors they have get a lot of small or private classes. The main composition professor is very into electroacoustic and gets commissions all the time, so I think things will work out nicely. They also have a great music tech lab because of him, and I'm told he just got a big grant to expand it.
