Saunders
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine 'Blobby Blob Disco' I have to say I absolutely love the intro to this mix, the rest isn't as good to me, but the intro is amazingly good. Don't read that wrong though, the rest of the mix is really good too. True to Jivemaster style, this mix is a beat heavy fast paced mix of DOOM! Well.. okay, not doom, it's just pretty danged cool. Kie
Wow, no-one replied to this. Hey, this song's great. Great intro and all that as well. Good work by Jivemaster. BTW- Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is for the Genesis (just saying that cause it's missing on the page )
Spunodi
Sonic the Hedgehog was a very large part of my life and as a result is Jivemaster. Masato Nakamura and subsequent composers for the Sonic games made my obsession a joy to listen to. Brilliant melodies and superb basslines combined in a happily arranged manner to make my ears smile. Now I love dance music in all its forms. THIS IS GREAT IN A HAPPY, SMILEY WAY!!!!!!! JIVEMASTER IS A MODERN GOD IN HOW HE CAN TAKE MY CHILDHOOD THROUGH TO MY ADULT LIFE AND I THANK HIM FOR THIS MIX!!!!!!! It may get repetitive but that is what happens if you repeat it for an almost infinite amount of times.
Kaleb.G
I absolutely love this song! I don't know if it's the instruments, the melody, or whatelse that make this great, but it's really fun and energetic! Reccomended.
Elvenstar!
The intro is one of the best I've heard on a remix. The song is fun after the intro too.
DarkWolf
This is a good remix of the original Puyo Puyo tune. The piece captures the energy of the puzzle game yet represents the chibi characters of the game through its synth lead. If you've only played DRMBM I suggest you check out Puyo Puyo as well, it is on several platforms (MD, PCE, Arcade).
Eccles
Im not usually a huge fan of remixes that hit the ground running like this one...but this really seems to catch me for some reason...mainly cause its so easy to put into mixes... There sometimes seems to be a kind of metallic, out of tune grinding (so far as grinding can be in and out of tune) which I dont especially care for, but its not like this ruins the track... It seems a little long sometimes..I wouldnt mind, but there's very little variation going on here... The ending is pulled off pretty good, too...like that Id recomend it to anyone...spefically people looking for jivey stuff...cause...cause its by Jivemaster, duh.... ..........
This is a just simply a great piece. Not much more to say than that. It's something that makes you wanna dance. And from a non-dancer like myself, that is saying a lot.
CJ_Sparx
I used to rent this game constantly way back, but I stopped after we got Kirby's Avalanche for the SNES (yet ANOTHER Puyo Puyo game, with the exact same setup as DRMBM, just Kirby characters). This remix has brought back some excellent memories of this game, namely how I'd sit for hours playing Exercise Mode just for this song. I loved it then... ... and I love it now. The major-key change was a little odd first, but the song's theme didn't get to repeat itself before I was grooving in my chair and telling my little brother how excellent this remix is. This is one of those songs I can't get past on my playlist without repeating it twice. Jivemaster, great job!
grayfox9996
I never saw potential in Mean Bean Machine's music, really. Then I heard Jivemaster's take on it. Let me just say I was quite pleasantly surprised with the result. This song's got everything I could want (and more!) from a Sonic spin-off remix, or even a Puyo Pop remix, or just a puzzle game remix in general. The intro is amazing, and just sucks you in for a great ride. Stuck this on a CD and pumped up the bass in my car; such a fun song!
Zekian
First of all, I resent this game being called a clone. This game kicked all kinds of ass, and was incredibly imaginative if you ask me. Plus, it had Scratch and Grounder. Anyway, the mix is excellent, and although it started sounding like it might not appeal to me, I was soon swept up into the beat. Or "jive". ~_^ Great work. Jemnisimi
*stabbities Pretzel in the eye with an apple* DON'T DIS THE BEANS! This game, is godly. Yeah okay maybe not that good but in my living room all I have hooked up is my sega and DRMBM STAYS in it. Naa I don't play it every day but my neighbor and I have had so much fun with it... maybe it's just me. I always kick his butt in it. Anyway, back in the day when I first got this game, it was the best thing since cream cheese and even until the day recently I brought it back out again I'd find myself humming this everywhere on the creation. Kudos to you Jive! It's just as catchy as the original. I wish someone'd do a remix of the "Oh crap I'm about to lose" tune though. It was my favie but a pain in the bootay to remix I'd imagine. Nineko
A really happy song to listen to. One of my personal favorites.
OceansAndrew
This doesn't waste any time to get to the rocking, and it's definitely the way to go about it for the source. The synths are very cheerful, and I am am digging on the strong thwack of the snare. The beat is a bit straightforward, but more of the changes occur in the synths and the harmonic progressions anyways, so there is plenty to keep you interested. The rhythmic patterns do tend to get repetitive, though, and the drums are auto-piloting away, making this mix a bit less than amazing, though once in awhile we are thrown a fill or two. A decent dance tune, check it out.
ocremixfan
My fault: not listening to remixes of games I'm not familiar with! But then I started listening to OCR Radio... and what a pleasant discovery this song was! Very uplifting and joyful! Most recent addition to my favourites list!
