LuketheXjesse
wooooooooooooooooooooah, hold on there, you're planning on both subbing these AND making a CD? Can I, at the very least, give you my revised/completed version for this? The production is light years better on what I have now.
Gario
Very nice (glad I participated at the last moment ). I can't think of anything to improve the contest, really - it worked quite nicely as it's been presented. The only thing I can think of is for more people to finish their work, but you don't have control of that .
superjoe30
Keeping it annual helps keep people motivated to finish their work. Makes it more of an important event.
The Biznut
First of all, I think its awesome that a CD and some art are a possibility. That's cool. I feel like adding a quick comment section under each track would be a good way to exchange feedback on the finished tracks. Feedback is encouraging (mostly) and it promotes growth as a composer, especially someone new like me, so streamlining that process means more of a good thing. Anyone else feel the same way? Skummel Maske
Yeah, feedback is important.. The idea of a listening party could do something for that, otherwise I suppose some kind of review system might work as well? Or, possibly (although that might not be technically possible.. yet?) an option to comment directly on the tracks on Compo:ThaSauce?
suzumebachi
Yeah some kind of feedback would be ideal. I thought that was why we were gonna have the listening party...
Fishy
One more time in case you missed it Rama . I was on holiday during the week of subbing so I couldn't sub my (kinda finished) track: http://fishy.escariot.net/private/Lunar2.mp3 How can I get it on there? Demonstray
Yeah I guess if it's allowed, I'd like my newer version to be used instead...I mean, it's a lot less quiet at least. EDIT: Linking again just in case http://tindeck.com/listen/yryh
suzumebachi
so I'm thinking we should organize a listening party (ie: we all meet up in #thasauce on irc.enterthegame.com some time and play the songs in sync and stream of consciousness babble about how much we like them as we listen, for those of you infamiliar with the concept). what do you guys think would be a good time? sometime this weekend would be good. thoughts? JH Sounds
Rama has a tendency to pile things onto his plate when they're already starting to topple over, so this album thing should be interesting.
superjoe30
i'm in mountain time (GMT-7). 9:00pm eastern is 7:00pm here. whoa there, I'm in arizona time which is also GMT-7, and 9pm eastern is 6pm over here... what's the deal?
Gario
Hey, I'm GMT -7, as well (but Suzu already knew that, as we are both New Mexicans ). I just tried my IRC, and for the first time ever in my household it worked... Very, very strange. If it works again I'll certainly be there - it'll be fun (as I also would like to give and take some feedback).
The Biznut
i'm in mountain time (GMT-7). 9:00pm eastern is 7:00pm here. Mountain Time ftw! Thats me too, though several thousand kilomet...ahem.. *miles* north of the rest of you. As far as I know, I'll be around for that, so you can count me in. Hopefully we get a good turnout! LuketheXjesse
Everything that takes place on the internet ever is at a time I am unavailable. Eh, my entry was mixed terribly anyway, I'd rather not see people's reactions to it.
superjoe30
Arizona doesn't do daylight savings time. Remember? Neither does GMT... Whatever, this is why I live in Arizona, so I don't have to think about saving daylight or something. Everything that takes place on the internet ever is at a time I am unavailable.Eh, my entry was mixed terribly anyway, I'd rather not see people's reactions to it. I'll save the log for you
