ocre Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Just finished 64listenin to it. Very nice stuff, my man! I'll do a song-by-song critique in this post in a bit. Quote
Brandon Strader Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Loose Bruises is probably the best thing of yours I've ever heard, it's too bad you don't put that kind of detail into all of your songs. Quote
Arcana Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 This album has a very relaxed, almost elevator-music like quality to it. It's extremely relaxing and laid back. Still not done listening to all of it, I am through about the first six songs. In Flight as well as Morning Jaunt caught my attention so far. Quote
Draconiator Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I don't like your signature, but I LOVE some of the stuff in here. Good job! Quote
Harmonious Dissonance Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Just listened to it last night and LOVED IT. Keep up the good work ;D Quote
Dj Mokram Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Thought it was a great 2009 retrospective album from J64H. Appreciated the unique style and versatility per usual. At the same time, I also think you reached the limits of using samples that aren't particularly outstanding on their own. No matter how much patience, practice and skills are involved, not upgrading your sound can drag you down at some point. I trust you'll stay as creative and productive as ever. But you need to step your game up for 2010. Good listen nonetheless. Keep it up JH! Quote
Halt Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 The Man's Ear. I've asked this musician to put out some original music for quite sometime. And just as I thought. I wouldn't be displeased Keep it up man. I'll write some things about a few tracks after NCIS is over. Quote

Level 99 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Been a long enough time between me getting this and me posting about it. This is a good improvement over his last release, however the problems with previous releases are still there, just lessened. There needs to be a bit more humanization in your work, as many of the tracks feel quite stiff. The plus side is that your style reminds me of work that eventually could be kind of like the World of Goo soundtrack. What's holding you back is more refined production and samples! You can still do more with what you have, but only so much. Definitely chill stuff and easy listening, could easily be backing music for stuff. Your mixing levels need a little work, some instruments tend to stand out way more than they probably intend to. Just keep at it, you're making progress. Good album, but it's a testament to growth, both what you've done and what you need to do What Lurks Beneath is definitely my favorite track. Quote
