Ghetto Lee Lewis
I'm up to try a Thursday BBQ, but I'd have to know where, parks are okay but I can't really do any scouting around about it until we get there, and honestly after all this planning, maybe it would be easier if some of you locals stepped up to the plate on that. I don't really know exactly how everyone would feel about it by that time etc... If someone that lived there was offering a place for us to BBQ that'd be much different, much easier. We only have four cars from what I know, so fitting everyone in them, getting to our destination, etc. etc. etc. would be the biggest hassle... Which is why we opted to try to have the Birthday party close to the hotel. So yeah, I'm up for it, but it's an "in the air" thing for me until I have more info. Which is why I suggested Paradise Park, which is about 3 1/2 miles from the hotel. I know that they have shade and barbecue grills. If not Paradise Park there's Sunset Park, which is way larger, but a bit farther from the hotel. They also offer plenty of places to bbq. I'm a local, but my wife won't let any weird people from the internet over to her house. =) I could also offer a couple people of rides, so we'd have one more car, and I have a friend who could possibly offer his car too, making 6 cars if need be. It would also help if we knew exactly how many people were going to show up. I'm guessing 20-30. So anyone bringing a mini-van? Besides, I'm sure some people might not want to hang around outside in 100 degree weather, shade or not. People might want to do other things instead. Obtuse
Does Las Vegas have a good public transportation system? Are the buses frequent? Do they run all night?

Ghetto Lee Lewis
Typically buses run about every 20 to 30 minutes along every major street. But they are late sometimes, up to an hour or two in the worst cases. Riding the bus is about 3x slower than driving because they have to stop frequently. For the most part, the schedules on the RTC website are pretty accurate. Fortunately Las Vegas's streets are layed out like a grid for the most part, so it's easy not to get lost. There is also a monorail that goes between hotels on the strip. I haven't ridden on it, so I don't know the schedules or how reliable it is. That's all the public transportation we have here. There are some other buses for tourists I think also, which are run by different hotels. Other than that there are taxi's, which are expensive. Ferret
I don't see what that post has to do with anything that's been previously discussed. Oh, by the way if any of you hits up a roulette table put money on 13 red for me, eh?
Brandon Strader
I might play a $5 chip on it, but I'm keeping the winnings. And you're responsible for the losings. I hope you can pay back that $5, my good man. Also... someone should print out a batch of these... Just kidding..! Heh.

Brandon Strader
My grandpa is completely convinced that the shuttle from the airport to the Flamingo is free. I think he knows from experience, as he's been there a few times. A confirmation on this would be nice.

I'm sorry we didn't have time to find you all for one last goodbye. Tomorrow we're heading to Yosemite, which is sort of the inverse of Las Vegas.
