XeroZohar
Not that I'm new, but though I may not participate much in the rest of forums, rest assured that I downloaded the massive OCR torrents (and quite a few albums) and listen to them all the time. I love you guys Also, anyone hear about the new Counter Strike? I BET THERE WILL BE HATS.
phill
Also, anyone hear about the new Counter Strike? I BET THERE WILL BE HATS. I...um...I hate you Valve, not cause of the hats that will be in it, but because its CS.
Powerlord
Edit: Okay I looked it up and my new question is why does it matter. They're rarer by definition, and thus worth more during trades. My second question is how do I craft a Pip-Boy?? Pip Boy isn't specifically craftable. You have to either do the random hat recipe (3 refined) or Engineer hat recipe (4 refined + Engineer Token) and hope you get it. Or trade with someone else who has it. Since it's also in the random drop system... hey powerlord just wondering if I could get a reserved slot OK, sure. Play time is over 1 day, which is good. Yo powerlord, any chance I can get a reserve slot as well? damn I really like this server ^^ I already added you when I added the top 50 people by play time. Gamemaster1379
For anybody interested, I made a full set of backgrounds for TF2. Every (unique) map is included, I posted a topic about it over at the Steam forums. There's a download included, so you all ought to check it out and give it a spin. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2053387
Zerothemaster
Okay I looked it up and my new question is why does it matter. Genuine rarity simply shows that you obtained the item the way it was meant to be obtained. This only applies to certain items. For example, it is impossible (to my knowledge) to obtain a genuine, say, Boston Basher, but you can get a genuine Three Rune Blade. It shows, in the case of the blade, that you actually pre-ordered Witcher 2 and got it that way, and didn't just buy it from Mann Co or craft it. They're also rare, so it's worth more in trades (like Powerlord said). In the case of the Bison, it would show that you actually went to the event (or got your hands on a code) instead of buying or crafting it. make sense? WindStrike
Welp, been a regular here for a while, right around when the server first started out. Any chance I can have a reserved slot? ParanoidDrone
I am glad everyone enjoyed Free Hat Friday. It occurs to me that Free Hat Friday was going on right under my nose while I tuned out voice chat as I tend to do unless I hear my name or something. (Cocktail Party Effect, look it up. Or something similar, anyway.) I can't decide if I care or not.
Powerlord
An optional update to Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch is now available. The specific changes include:Source Dedicated server - Integrated latest SteamWorks API and Steam client library - Fixed zombie players created when banning players, causing player count in the server browser to be incorrect - Fixed bug incrementing player count when spectator joined on spectator port. - Fixed a rare startup crash When Valve says "optional" they mean "highly recommended for servers" so I'm installing this now. BLU and RED have been restarted.
Powerlord
TF2 is freezing on startup at the moment. Valve hopes to push a fix within the hour for it. Luckily, when it does work again, our server was not affected by the bug plaguing older servers (including the OS FireSlash used on the other server) where they crash on start. Powerlord
We've released an update that addresses the TF2 crashes for both server and client. Let me (or Valve) know if things are still crashing. Meanwhile, I'm updating the servers again. Any other Orange Box games may be crashing (CS:S, HL2:DM, DOD:S).
Powerlord
Updated the MOTD to explicitly state that pornographic sprays are not allowed. I also added a note about the "no spectators on a full server" guideline (I hesitate to call it a "rule") that we'd been enforcing. The idling rule is now less explicit, as mostly we let the server auto-enforce it (this is built into the server, not a mod we've added, and it's been in place for years). Also, if you're requesting a reserved slot, it's a better idea to message me via the forums or via email (rbemrose@vgmusic.com) because I can't add them while in game and tend to forget to do it if I don't add them immediately.
