The Author Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I wanted to have the REM / Elecman thing linked here, but youtube is being a "an error has occurred" bitch and I can't check if the video I found is good. Well, here,s the video I found, dunno if its good : Quote
WillRock Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Dragonball Z Budokai - Challengers same Song Structure, same chords. Coincidence? I think not, seeing as there are two other songs in that game that do the same thing to two other songs on the album that stratovarious song came off Not to mention two journey songs and a few black sabbath songs to top it all off. The composer for the budokai games was Kenji Yamamoto, but I don't seem to know of any soundalike songs on the metroid soundtrack Quote
lazygecko Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Two Crude Dudes Grand Master Flash - New York New York http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt02XFInA1I Incidentally the game itself is set in New York. Quote
The Vagrance Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Can - Turtles Have Short Legs inspires Parappa the Rapper's car level which is similar to (and possibly influenced) which sampled the original Can song. Quote

Not 2 seconds in I IMMEDIATELY thought of it. Scratch that, it was even before the 1 second mark I caught it. Sorry, found some more Mother stuff http://cruiseelroy.net/2009/01/mother-3-musical-allusions/ Quote

jmr Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 This a pretty blatant one: Robert Miles - Children (Dream Version) Quote
Tex Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 The composers must've been big Moonlight Sonata fans. Quote
musenji Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I noticed this similarity between People Seized With Life from Chrono Cross, and a section of music from Smallville. The three chords, followed by the three melody notes, are exactly the same in the two pieces--just a half step off in key. [edit] There wasn't anything I could do about the dialogue--you just have to listen around it. Quote

Chernabogue Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I remember this : ("Underwater Theme" from SMB and "Main Theme" from "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis") It seems that French film music composers like using Koji Kondo's music Quote
ocre Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Not sure if the equivalent should be considered a 'real life' counterpart but I've always heard the Shooting Gallery theme from Ocarina of Time in . Quote
MkVaff Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I always thought the Beatles "Lady Madonna" sounded like one of the songs from Dr. Mario. I'm surprised I haven't seen that one mentioned on here before Quote
