Kirby's Adventure: Rise of the Star - History

Recommended Posts

Tweaked my piece more and finished it. It's not rendered, but I have it and it's finished, and that's all that matters. :P

Heard a WIP from Beatdrop for Final Star; it's coming along nicely. Also heard a WIP from Trenthian for Star General; also sounds good.

I'm looking for a good artist to do album art/cover art stuff. Post a sample of your work here please.

I did this wallpaper on this month.

However, I can make an better work. And this wallpaper is very strange and bizarre. Anyway, what did you think?

You want art samples? Ok then! :D

Here's my random pencil art:

I have also made a few cd covers. Here's one of the better ones:

Any good?

EDIT: it seems that my ripway account has exceeded its daily download limit. So if you can't see these pics, don't worry, they'll be working again in the next 24 hours.

maybe a little from pencil and paper to digital work here...http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/8276812/

and some traditional marker work:

i have Nero Cd Cover Creator as to save files in that format if needed as well as a few other cover design programs (i think). So the distribution format can be whatever needed....anyways, enough rambling from me.

Ooh, finally it's CD cover time. I wanna give it a try too <3

I don't have any real art to show though as an example of what i'm capable of (unless you wanna see school works =x ). I do have a few ideas for the cover.

I got a question also : is it only for the front or we do front + back? Any restrictions other than it has to be in "printable" format?

Hmm...I don't see anything really impressive yet. :|

Vilecat, school works are fine.

It will have to fill out a jewel case for a CD; front, back, and sides.

Oh ok, that's good to know. I haven't found many of my school works to be good enough to present, except the last semester project we have. But since it's a CD-rom, well i'm too lazy to take screenshots. Instead, i've found doodles and such of what i did in the last months.

Image from a loading animation we had to do this semester. It had to be animated and had certain size and format restrictions. For some reasons, the colors are darker than when i made it... Must be the screen calibration >_<;;

Logo contest a year ago during a class. We had to create a logo containing a fish, a trident, a star, and the color blue. We also had to plan a space for the text to be written later. It had to represent an organism related to the sea.

Random doodle i inked recently

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/Vilecat/kitteh.jpg

The 2 pages of Kirby doodles i did way back in early November, when the project was still in developpement.

This is the first pencil draft of the 1st CD Cover(front) idea i had for this project.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/Vilecat/CD_Cover1.jpg

I might swap Sword Kirby and Fighter Kirby (his sword looks like a plastic toy  ). I based the Kirby designs off Kirby : Nightmare in Dreamland, since it's basically a remake of Kirby's Adventure, from what i recall. I also plan to not keep the pencil outlines, to have results similar of MacHall's latest boards/comics. Title will be added above the picture.

I'll have at least an other idea that i'll post soon (probably later today). Please i'd like to know if it's worth of working more on this, and if yes, your comments and/or suggestions.

I'd like to see something like this. I haven't decided on a background yet, and thought you people might give me tips on that. Also, the text might just be temporary, and the star will be edited so that it looks to be more in the foreground. This is just a first draft. Well, no more delay.

kirby_cd.jpg

EDIT: I tried giving the star an outline. That's the only update with this one.

kirby_cd2.jpg

EDIT2: Those drawings Vilecat made are awesome. I guess I'm outgunned, heh.

Wow, I like Hadyn's too.

I guess it kinda depends what feel we want with the art. Maybe DarkeSword could shine a little bit of light on that aspect as well. But maybe that's something to worry about after we pick the artist.

The art work is an deep point.

I don't know. What's vilecat work? School works? How is your style?

Your work's great txai - it's just not the kind of thing you'd see on a real life cd case, which is probably the kind of thing DS wants.

My work? If you looked fully at my post, i've posted a draft of an idea i got. It's near the very bottom :)

StarZander, don't say such things, your Kirby's very cute ^_^ Oh, btw i prefer the one with the borderless star, the other gives a "heavier" look.

And Hadyn, that's simple but great =D I feel defeated.

You shouldn't! I may be alright at photoshop, but for some strange reason i've never been able to draw kirby that well. Your work's great, I'd love to see what you come up with if you keep working on it ^^
