Phonetic Hero Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Just in case anyone is as big of a marching band geek as I am (I play on the drumline at KU for those of you unaware). Ohio State did a marching show with a video game theme, and it's pretty damn awesome. Quote
LuckyXIII Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 That was pretty dang decent. At first I thought they were doing the Temple of Time chant at one point, then I realized it was Halo... The visuals are almost more compelling than the music at certain points, too - Epona galloping especially... Quote
Ethan Rex Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The other OSU (as in Oklahoma State University) is also doing a video game show - one of my good friends plays quads there, i'll see if anyone could get a good video of it. Quote
Modus Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I didn't know they were doing this! I could've gone to that game :[ Quote
Phonetic Hero Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 I didn't know they were doing this! I could've gone to that game :[ A lot of bands do repeat performances when they put a lot of work into a certain show, they may be playing again. You could always check if you know any marchers Quote
DragonAvenger Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I liked that they picked a couple songs that aren't super known among the populace, like Gerudo and the Mario end theme. Also the galloping horse formation was super awesome. Quote

If I go, I'm gonna see if I can set up a really good audio and video recording. That routine deserves it. Quote

Melbu Frahma Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Mellophones represent. Er, I mean... that was pretty good. Quote
SuperiorX Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 That'd be awesome man! Post if it happens!! I'm a proud alumni of The Ohio State University. TBDBITL (The Best Damn Band In the Land) is always a highlight. Like seriously everyone at OSU loves the band, it's definitely not like other places where the band might be "looked down upon". Seeing them perform Script Ohio at games is always so friggen' awesome. But yeah this routine is great. The galloping horse is by far the coolest thing I've ever seen. As for people asking about recordings... I bet someone in the press box recorded it. OSU often sells CDs and videos of the band performances, so I wouldn't be surprised if a higher quality version of this pops up sometime in the near future! Quote

If you or anyone else finds an HQ version available somewhere, update us with a post please. I want a good recording of this one way or another. Quote
Mustin Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Welp, video game music is dead now. /sarcasm Quote
RealFolkBlues Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Good god, Buckeyes, where the hell did that come from? That was amazing. Just amazing. Quote
