Mega Man: The Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet 2013

Not at all! The narrative is what makes it fun. :)

The Walt Disney Company used their commercial empire to fund Dr. Wily's project to rebuild his vast network of castles after his defeat two years ago. But in an effort to make Wily's Castles more family friendly, they've gone and done a lot of remodeling and have generally interfered with Dr. Wily's original vision, which is why all the castles look and sound like old Disney-Capcom game locations.

Needless to say, Dr. Wily is not pleased...

To this end, Disney is putting elements from their massively popular "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" franchise into Wily's castles.

Next week, all mixers must add generic pirate language to their songs. If a remix does not contain gratuitous amounts of words and phrases like, "aye aye," "yo ho ho," "walk the plank," "dubloon," "mateys," and "buried treasure," it will be disqualified.

My kids have been watching pretty much nothing but Jake and the Neverland Pirates for the past 6 months. If this were a reality where that rule came to pass there would be have to be a rider of thorazine added to avoid mid-mix bloodshed.

Change of plans... if Cosmic Sounds ends up not being able to do week two, I'm gonna do week two and he'll go week three. If he can go week two, I'll do week three as normal. I'm probably going to be doing week two, it seems.

I also wouldn't be against that Aladdin track suggestion.

For those who have no idea what you're talking about (ie me) can you give some info on that, like for instance what the heck IRC is 8-O

Sorry I thought I was the only one out of date with most of the internet stuff.

...and sorry, I didn't mean for that to come off the way it probably did. :)

IRC is internet relay chat. If you get a free program like MIRC you can talk on the OCR .....irc.

http://ocremix.org/info/Chat

Just not sure where it could be had. If OCR would mind us taking up that chat room or if someone could set another one up that could work too.

No offence taken, just a new entry on my 'list'... :-P

So if my timezone conversions are correct, the deadline is in 15 minutes?

Looks like Energy Tank will be arriving fashionably late. zach72 mentioned that he had pretty minimal access to a computer this week. I'm pretty sure he wasn't able to complete much of a track, and, unfortunately, even if he did, I'm not sure he'd have the chance to upload it.

Also, not saying it will change anything, but something to consider regarding a listening party: will listening and discussing all the tracks with other people effect the way people vote?

That's a good question. One month at DoD one of the more known remixers called a mix "average" at the end of a mix review and you what the score ended up being after all the votes were in? Almost dead center "average".

Some influence is unavoidable but I'd rather discuss the tracks than to just sit and learn nothing about them and what other people think.

Yeah and well people can discuss the mixes in the thread here too, so if someone had a really strong opinion one way or the other, I don't see how having or not having an IRC chat about it would change anything. Plus there is no guarantee how many people will participate in the IRC anyway. I don't see the harm in it.

I am really looking forward to hearing what everyone has cooked up this week! :)

Great, now you're going to make me want to get more NASTY than you. Holy cow though, that's a lot of treble.
