Bleck
if I had homebrew capabilites why would I even have bothered with the virtual console at all I WOULD JUST BE PLAYING EARTHBOUND ALL OF THE TIME
BardicKnowledge
^Agreed. If I could get Earthbound, Seiken Densetsu 3, and Bahamut Lagoon working perfectly via homebrew, then the VC would be dead to me.
SoloGamer
It's pretty easy to get homebrew going on a Wii. All you need is Zelda: Twilight Princess (a rental should suffice) and a 2 gig or less SD card. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel

atmuh
why one earth has everyone not installed the homebrew channel on their wii oh and DS unfortunately it is not that simple with smash bros or most wifi enabled games because nintendo doesnt want you messin with wifi data or smth so they make it impossible to transfer that data to an sd card

Penfold
World of Goo is pretty awesome. Been through chapters 1 and 2 so far, and there's two stages in ch. 2 that I haven't been able to figure out yet. Good fun so far.
BardicKnowledge
Alas, I don't own Zelda because I didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting after playing through it on a friend's Wii. Do I have to go rent it to get homebrew on the Wii, or is there a better way yet?
Imagist
Check the last couple pages of this thread. Supposedly there's a new way that you only need an SD card for, and I'm pretty sure the info was posted here recently.

A rental should suffice (or borrow it from your friend if he still has his). You're only going to use it once (unless you end up deleting the Homebrew Channel). After you get your hands on a legit copy of TP, use the Twilight Hack to install the Homebrew Channel. The HB Channel will allow you to run homebrew straight off an SD card, rather than run the TP Hack each time.
