Ginnsu Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening 'Animal Village Greenwich Village' Wow, I love the piano work in this piece. Of course, this might just because besides the drums, there isn't much else besides piano. But never the less, the piano does really catch my ear partly because it sounds very complex. The drums are possibly some what over powering, but then again maybe I should turn my bass down some. Great work, BenCousins. Quote
PlatformerMastah Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 I was waiting for someone to remix this song, and I like this one a lot. Very fun to listen to, but I do prefer BenCousin's previous remix. Quote
Dev Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Although it's a simple arrangement, it is very quite nice. The piano is very good, and fits perfect in this arrangement. My main complaint is the kick that comes in around '24 is too loud. But maybe that's just me. I look forward to hearing more from BenCousins, this guy is impressive. Quote
po! Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 hmm... i don't find the beat very interesting, it just doesn't flow.. it kinda gets annoying after awhile i think this track could benefit from some other elements, like a bass line.. or at least more variation of what's there already (drums and piano) Quote
Ryan8bit Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 To me, this just seemed way too repetitive. It was just too simple with the only variation being kicks and bass, which were too loud. Sometimes simple can be good, but a little variation never hurt. Quote
«NMZ» Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 Personally, i loved this mix. I'm not much of a "reviewer" so i might and probably will say something stupid. I liked the whole mix because it was very simple. It was a nice R and B sound with no frills. It was kind of repetitive, but i liked that. The bass thing was too loud, i agree with you all there, but it added a nice feel. I would've liked one of those variation things in there (you know, where the music changes style slightly, then goes back to the original), but it was nice. I liked this one better than his first. AlwaysAlone Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Drums, piano, and bass. Three of my favorite elements in any song. Put together beautifully in this mix. I don't really know, but just...yeah. It's cool. ^^ Quote
Nixs Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Hats off to you for the remake of the animal village tune. Ill be looking out for others from you keep up the good work. Nixs Quote
LibertyCabbage Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 this guy made BigShellWestBristol? @@ this song should've been more like Mog's theme... silly, weird, fun Quote
mike_cliffe Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I thought the mix was ok! But I think you should have renamed it quantize central! Quote
RazorVayne Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Personally, I think this is the most kick-ass remix due to the fact that it actually has some boom instead of just annoying, high-pitched instruments. Quote
OceansAndrew Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 If there was a clock tower in this game, this should be the theme for it. Super mechanical piano on constant repeat, and overly loud bass drum. There is some aite evolution in the accompaniment as the song progresses, but it is all background, and the main motif and bass drum cover it up pretty well. Can't recommend this one, sorry, man. Quote
DragonAvenger Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Things feel pretty midi overall on this one. I'm not really a fan of the sounds used in this, and added to that is the very mechanical feel. It's a cute melody, but this just isn't doing it for me. Quote
