Blaster Master 'Into the Earth'

While I don't care for the plucked string sound (is that a default FruityLoops sound? I certainly hope not!), the rest of this mix sounds very nice. It's a far cry from Nine's other rave submissions, airing towards more atmosphere rather than danceability. It's pulled off very well, methinks, with just the right amount of reverb to make it atmospheric but not too indistinct (as can happen if there's too much of it.) I think the title fits very well, also - I can definitely see myself descending into some huge cavern or something. At any rate, I think I'm just gonna leave it at that, and say that I really recommend this.

As Blaster Master is my favorite game, it's impossible for me to not love it...I just miss some remixes of the best track in the game; Stage 1!

Yeah, that is the Plucked! synth you hear for the harpy bits (not the default settings though). I was originally just using that as a placeholder until I got ahold of a good sample or something to replace it, but that sound blended just right with the rest of the music, I thought, so I kept it.

Thats right nines, if it sounds good use it! I dont know many people that look at a violinist or whatnot and say "Hey! You are using a standard violin! Shame on you!"

I kinda like this. Sounds just like the title says it is.

You've put some nice, ambient instruments in here. They have that sort of "fantasy" feeling to them. Cool, but you could've built on it a bit faster.

I liked it the first time I heard it. At first I thought, "well Nines has a great melody to start with", then I thought, "at least Nines didn't mess it up", and by the end I thought, "Nines did a really great job with this one".

Relativly dense, this could pass for new age if it wasnt for some of the lo-fi synths in some sections. It certainly fits the title, as you can easily imagine a slow descent into the earth. Not really my style, but I can't deny that the mix is good. The bass and drums are really nice and have a very hypnotic effect to them.

I like to listen to this remix at 2x speed while envisioning Snake sneeking around MGS style.

Travelling the land. So relaxing. Contemplative, even. Inspiring. The hum sound (eg. at 2:00) feels really good. Love the play that starts at 3:12 and finishes up the track. Just lovely. :3
