Bahamut
As a general note, it's recommended that you have the cell phone numbers of at least two people attending the first part of the meetup, since NYC is a big place and traveling in large groups is tough. If you don't meet this criteria, go ahead and send some PM's to those on the list! Part I - New York City When: 12:00 noon Saturday Where: Grand Central Terminal, near the information kiosk in the main room (the one with the night sky ceiling) Stuff to do: Lunch, Virgin Megastore, Guitar Center, Chinatown Fair & Chinatown exploring, dinner (in pretty much this order). This will be far less expensive than most of the other meetups that have happened, especially on the east coast, so it's a nice change of pace in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Definites: Bahamut José the Bronx Rican Katsurugi Leon K. Dix Equinox Shnabubula The Pezman Kroze Shael Riley (later) Maybes: DrumUltimA Bren Athair Passive Pretentiousness q-pa HongDe (?) Part II - Pleasantville Sleepover When: 8:00 p.m. Saturday - 12:00 noon Sunday Where: zircon's home in the suburb of Pleasantville. He and pixietricks will meet everyone at the Metro North stop in town and escort them to the house. zircon's cell # is 215-531-0798 if something comes up. Stuff to do: If people are still hungry, there are an abundance of nearby restaurants that do take-out and delivery, eg. NY-style pizza, Subway, Chinese food, delis, etc. zircon has a Wii and Xbox 360 with two controllers each, so if you have extra controllers, feel free to bring 'em along with any other games of your choice! We'll generally just be hanging out. Everyone coming to the sleepover from the first part of the meetup should plan to catch the 7:23 p.m. train together from Grand Central ($7.45 cash or credit). Bahamut will lead the way, since he has lots of experience with Metro North. So wherever you are before that point, please allow enough time to arrive, buy your tickets, and board before it leaves the station! If you are coming separately, simply ask someone at the Grand Central info booth what the next train is to Pleasantville on the Harlem Line. If you're driving, use Google Maps to 75 Choate Lane, Pleasantville, NY 10570. As for travel plans Sunday morning, feel free to ask zircon or Bahamut for information on public transport. People will undoubtedly be going home to different places. Definites: zircon pixietricks Bahamut José the Bronx Rican Leon K. Geoffrey Taucer
If it's the weekend of the 29th, that should work out perfectly for me, so long as I can stay in NY overnight (Zircon, your house still available to crash for a night?) Katsurugi
You know me. I have no life. Well, I do... It's just not too exciting. I hope there will be a bunch of people there. A small meet up is sometimes sad. But then again, you can do more stuff with a smaller party. I say that this year we definitely hit up Chinatown Fair, since we didn't get to do that last time. Was going to Virgin really fun? I don't think it was... but they did have a bunch of CDs going to 10 dollars and we did find a certain soundtrack that was quite hilarious. Let's try to brainstorm some activites we can do. I like museums and galleries, and performances. But those tend to cost... money and planning ahead, which we might not be able to afford. All I really can provide are good restaurant recommendations. Also, I'll try to be a good photographer, but no promises.
The Pezman
Heh. The four person meetup that was myself, Jose, Bahamut and PP went to Chinatown. And that was fun. I got my ass handed to me in a couple of games and watched Jose and Bahamut do quite decently at Generic Vertical Shooter IX.
Bren
I'd like to go - only I'd like to see more "definitely"s before I say definitely myself.
The Pezman
My previous post indicates that a meetup does not have to be big to be enjoyable.

Katsurugi
I'd like to go - only I'd like to see more "definitely"s before I say definitely myself. You're not going to be MY buddy. I know what happened to your last one... :0 Anyone's welcome, or are invites handed out?I'd have to check and see what's going on that whole week. Things have been coming up randomly as of late. YOU'RE ONLY INVITED IF YOU WANT TO COME!! In other words... anyone is invited. I just hope that there can be enough interest generated in this meet up. Generally, these things are pretty successful. *sigh* Then again, maybe no one wants to come because pixie hasn't announced if she's going or not. I'm pretty cool though. Does anyone want to meet me in real life? Perhaps I can convince others with my feminine wiles~

On a lighter note - I'd suggest small groups rather than pairs, especially if it's a relatively large meetup. In addition - I definitely would like to go, I just want to know that there is a genuine interest from a lot of people in attending.
