Hello everyone,   I've been a long-time fan of OverClocked ReMix, and I remember it fondly as something like remix.kwed.org. I've got some tracks with timestamps of 2005, which brings back some great memories. Recently, I visited the site and found a major overhaul, but I was also surprised to find that many of the classic tracks are no longer available.   I tried downloading the torrent pack, hoping to relive some of those old favorites, but unfortunately, they're all gone. I'm curious—what happened to these tracks?   If anyone knows where I can find these missing gems, I'd really appreciate the help. I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses the old stuff.   Best regards, RdX

Fun source and fun idea for a remix!  But I think the guys above me covered most of the issues well.  The soundscape is dense, muddy-ish, and repetitive.  The same sounds are used all throughout the arrangement, which could work if the writing was varied enough.  With the writing being so conservative and also repetitive throughout the piece, the instrumentation, sfx and ear candy have got to be varied and dynamic. Many of the elements are lows-heavy, causing the low end to feel heavy and muddy; some EQ on the midrange elements would help clear up the low end.  The drum kit feels weak compared to the rest of the instrumentation.  As XPRT said, the kick is extremely weak with zero body.  The 8-bit squelches and sizzly crash don't feel right to me, in this arrangement.  There's no sidechaining that I can hear, so the mix lacks groove it could otherwise have (not dealbreaker, but a shame). I like the soft breakdown with just drums and bells, with the chippy synth leading us back to the melodic material.  The arrangement overall I think is working well.  This one would be a winner for me with a bit more instrumentation variation, some EQ to tame the lows on the midrangey elements, and better drum sounds and drum mixing (and a little sidechaining never hurt anyone!). Cada ano que passa, fico ansioso por um novo lançamento de about:blank, "acrophobia" foi seu remix de introdução para mim no vasto mar de conhecimento da Ocremix lá em 2011 quando conheci o site, eu lembro de trabalhar em uma locadora de filmes, coisa rara de se ver hoje em dia, e durante o turno, estava no computador da empresa, procurando no YouTube alguns remixes de earthworm Jim, quando me deparei com o de About:Black, no canal da Oc no YouTube,  foi amor a primeira vista, desde então dia após dia, oc remix e about:Blank, vivem em mim, obrigado por essa nova e fascinante sensação

A long, long time ago, someone posted this thread with zero replies.  For posterity's sake, I am replying to say that I too would love to hear what the community could do with the soundtrack. I also double that the intro=perfect, particularly the audio processor for the Sega Genesis.  I am usually a SNES guy when it comes to the sounds, but the way this is put together on the Genesis just sounds ten times better than the SNES version.
