  2. I've picked my sources (spoilers: more than 2) and have the basics down. Loads of rough edges to fix, but I think I have it cleaned up on time.

  3. This has an awesome vibe to it. The mixing isn't all bad but it could use some touch-ups. The bass in particular seems a tad too powerful. I realize the bass is pretty important part in this style, but if it was a bit quieter it could help the other parts come through more clearly. The drums could use a bit more presence as well, though they're close where they are. Love the organ throughout. The piano was pretty hard hitting at first which had me worried, but it ducked out of the way a bit once the whole ensemble came in which sounded alright to me. The trombone is a nice touch, though it does sound a bit fakey. It could use a bit more humanization, mostly noticeable in the faster runs it does, though it's not bad as it. The outtro is a pretty drastic change, it could use a more convincing lead-in like others have suggested. But overall this is a very sweet arrangement, just needs some touch-ups throughout in the mixing like you initially suspected. Keep at it!

  4. TBH I haven't started yet, been trying to get OCU stuff shored up for the upcoming album release. I have picked my 2 bonus sources though. Hoping to hit things this weekend

  6. Well, you know the cover's basically done, so that's out of the way at least. I'd just need the song titles (with remixer names), the track order and any album credits to do up a back.

  7. Great arrangement and feel, I especially like the solos. I feel like if the brass had a few more horns backing it, that it might fit in a little better, but right now it's kinda just a lone ranger. The genre you picked for this fits so well with what you have going on too. The ending could have had a better transition though, as timaeus222 said.

  8. Oh gosh... how long has it been? Almost two months? Yikes... Sorry all for the break of contact and activity. School got in the way, but luckily, that shouldn't happen for the rest of the year (yay graduation!). And, as a new part of this project (half to keep me on track), I'm going to create a timeline, from now to release, and hopefully, we'll be able to make it. ...What, you were expecting the timeline in this post? Heck no! I've got a lot of things to try and put together in my head, and that's going to take a bit of time. However, I will let you know that my target release will be this October...ish. That gives us about 4 months to pull everything back in and get it polished, 1 month to master everything together, and 1 to release. No problem...right? Now, let me get on that timeline.

    MnP 52: NieR - Grandma

Your mix will be a bonus for sure since you picked this awesome source as last rounds winner. The source is slow but nice, at some point, my mix was 8:27 long. Let's see if I can short it down to get an entry in.

  11. I really gotta say I love Underground Pipe Society. So much energy going on... damn. And The Other Side is just plain awesome. As is Koopa Reaper. But then again, it's bLiNd. I'm a sucker for his mixes... Vanilla Underground strings some chords but I'm having a hard time identifying where that particular style comes from. Sounds a bit early trance; can't put my finger on it. Heatrave just pumps up the 90's vibe and I'm really, *really* digging it a lot. Fun fact: I passed this on to a friend of mine who generally doesn't listen to OCR stuff. Even he diggs the album, and that's saying a lot. The production quality is so high that, indeed, blasting a few of these tracks through the speakers of a club without people complaining (and dare I say it: even enjoying it) shouldn't prove too difficult..

    Dark Souls 3

To prepare for Dark Souls 3, I redownloaded Bloodborne and have been helping some of my newb friends play the game. I don't like that they're using guides and rushing through and all that. It seems cheap compared to how I played the game. But at least 1 of them is getting Dark Souls 3 with me at the midnight launch (digital) so we'll see what happens and if any of thise translates to "gitting gud" It still took a bunch of tries to kill Ludwig in their game (DLC). Even though I was level 166 and scaled down. Man, what a crazy ass boss. Then I shareplayed the guy later and I saw why it took so many tries HAHAHA... He dodge rolled off the map in Research Hall no less than 2 times just during the 10 minutes I shareplay watched him. And he got killed by the exploding book shelf twice I am excited to see how my gud will need to be changed for DS3, different play style. I hate using shields though. I (f-wording) hate shields!
