  1. Well, clumsy me accidentally deleted the thread I made from over 2 years ago, well over 11,000 views (thanks guys). I was trying to edit a post and I couldn't delete something, and the "thread delete' button was very close to the editing window...sort of non-descript. I'd at least expect it to ask for confirmation of what I was about to do. Anyway, David Lloyd was kind enough to provide me with the HTML backups of everything over that two years so the pages are below. He said he MIGHT be able to somehow restore the specific thread but no promises. In the meantime, I'll pick up from where I last left off. I really messed up huh? 2. Well, here it is, at long last. Kind of unbelievable that this is finally coming out. So why’d this thing take so long? What happened? Well, a lot happened, actually. I bought a house and moved out of my parents’ place. I started taking on more stuff at work. OCR got involved with the fighting game community and I started directing albums for tournaments. I started running my own remixing tournaments on OCR for series like Mega Man, and, speaking of Mega Man, I even worked with Capcom to direct OCR’s first commercial album. But with all this stuff going on, I also hit roadblocks creatively as a musician. I was still putting out tracks for the FGC albums, but I wanted my Mystic Knight track on this album to be something really great and bigger than what I’d done before. So I put things off until I could find time, and when I found time I couldn’t make it work creatively, and then I’d get busy again. Finally, it just got to be too much, and I said “I need to be able to tell people at MAGFest that it’s done.” So I sat down and, for a few nights in the week leading up to MAGFest, I pushed through all the creative roadblocks and finally got the track out. But of course, this album series is way more than my dumb track that took way too long to write. It’s filled with awesome music from a really talented bunch of guys. I’m grateful that they’ve been so patient with me, and I’m happy that you’re all going to finally hear their awesome arrangements. Now that WATER is finally out, we’re going to move on to putting together Volume III: FIRE. I’ve got big plans, and while it would be irresponsible of me to promise a release date, I will say that after everything I’ve learned about running all these albums over the years, things are going to move along at a better pace. Keep an eye out, and in the meantime, enjoy The Fabled Warriors: Volume II: WATER. 3. Results Time The results are as follows. They are historic, since this never happened before.: Number of participants: 6 and 1 bonus mix. Number of votes: 5 The voting graph: Chalis did a great bonus mix. RonaldPoe did a good job, but got only two points and the last place wooden spoon Bundeslang and Xsquader tied for 4th place, with 8 points. They weren't far off. The winners are NinjaPenguinDan, PlanarianHugger and Supercoolmike with a score of 9 points. For the first time in history in PRC, we have three winners. PlanarianHugger and Bundeslang got a three points bonus, resulting in this small difference. It's good that Orlouge didn't vote Bundeslang 2nd and Xsquader 3rd otherwise there would have been 5 winners. This was a good round with 7 songs in total. RonaldPoe did a good job as well. But only three can win this time. NinjaPenguinDan, PlanarianHugger and Supercoolmike may select a source for the next round. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). EDIT: They all will be used for the next round. Send your source as fast as you can, but before this Friday (6 May), 12:59 AM ThaSauce time. You may select any source for any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above). Check the ThaSauce Page for the results.

  4. Hey guys I dunno if you knew this yet or not, but I sold a trilogy of sci-fi books to Simon and Schuster last year, and the first one is coming out next month. To promote the book, we're combining my voice acting with my writing to start a cool contest that we're calling "Voiceover Mad Libs." Anyone can enter, regardless of whether or not they pre-order the book (though that would be awesome). You can find all the details here: https://joezieja.com/2016/05/03/mechanical-failure-contest-voiceover-mad-libs/ Basically, you get to fill in the blanks of a commercial or a trailer script, and I will record and produce it, then upload it to SoundCloud. At the end of the 2 week contest period, we pick the funniest and you get prizes. Come have fun!

  5. Gah, I didn't realise I'd missed a deadline for WIPs- massive apologies! I've just finished off another track for the Terranigma project, so I'll go full steam on SeeD this weekend and get at least a rough WIP posted in the private forum. It's all arranged and I've got the drums together, just need to lay down some riffs!

  6. I'll have a concept track (even a full arrangement) for June 20th for sure.

  7. What is the final deadline? Mine's borderline finished; I just need to make mixing tweaks and maybe a couple other little tweaks.

  8. I don't know if this was a misunderstanding, but prophetik is simply talking about having too much original content that it doesn't resemble the source tune anymore, and thus is too original of an arrangement to be a video game remix. That would make it harder to get video-game-music-related copyright issues, not easier. But I would say that NOT selling the remixes (and probably the attribution to the original artists as well) is one of the main things that helps these kinds of albums not upset copyright holders.

  9. Hello. I'm a musician, arranger, and gloomy Gus. Since I'm not in a band in my new hometown I've decided to write, arrange, and record... starting with a few favorites from the halcyon days of my gaming youth. Hope you enjoy the jazz, bebop, boogaloo stylings...

  11. Pretty sure this started off as a complete sentence and then started to self destruct the more words you added to it. Being on a label is a good way to associate your music with similar acts, and be a rather central location for people to go to to hear that type of music. It's not the only way to be heard, it's not the only way to get your stuff distributed. Yes it's possible, people can and are doing it all the time, but you have to solve the bold statement. You can write unimaginably beautiful scores or put googly eyes on a rock it doesn't really matter, if people don't want to buy those productions you won't be earning a living from it. loudr.fm will distribute your stuff without being associated with a label, you can price your stuff however you want. Your music has to be good (or acceptable) enough though that stores like iTunes or sites like Pandora would take the songs.

  12. @Brandon Strader, I need to lighten my workload a little bit. Between moving this summer and a pregnant wife, I'm likely not going to have the time I want for everything on my plate at the moment. I am making some progress on Lunatic Pandora and I am 100% sure I'll be able to provide a completed version of that, however I would like to withdraw from The Salt Flats and allow it to be claimed by anyone else who may be interested. If I end up with more time than I expect to have and it's still free, I'll tackle it (or possibly another track that isn't claimed because I friggin' love FF8). In the meantime, I'd like to focus squarely on L.P. and hit that one out of the park.
