  4. The People's Remix Competition 338 PRCv13-26 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Welcome to the last round of this season. Again this is a free round: no restriction, everything is allowed, also remixing multiple sources in one song. It is even allowed to continue working on a WIP, as long as most of the work is done during this round. It is not allowed to post a song which you did in the past. The only restriction is that most of the time (> 50%) spend on the song is during the upcoming two weeks. Even MIDI rips are allowed, but probably you won't get a first place with that. Based on the poll of the last round, I decided to drop the rule that you have to post the song to ThaSauce. You can upload the song anywhere you want, but I must have a download link. So if you use SoundCloud, don't forget to allow downloads, otherwise your song does not count as an entry or bonus mix. I will still use ThaSauce as a possible place to submit songs. I've made another poll about the setup of the contest for this round. Source: Free Round - (Anything you like) ThaSauce link: Click here to submit It's not necessary to use ThaSauce to participate in this contest. To submit a song at the compo page you can use the ThaSauce page. If you use this, an account is required. If you don't want to use ThaSauce, please upload the song somewhere else and post a download link in this thread. I recommend Soundcloud, don't forget to allow downloads to enable me to upload the song at ThaSauce. I will keep using ThaSauce as the place where all songs are located. If you want to use ThaSauce, the following steps should be done. Click the ThaSauce Link. Click the 'You are not logged in' button in the upper right. Click on 'register' (at the bottom). Read the terms and click 'I agree to these terms'. If you don't agree with them, upload the song somewhere else and post a download link as mentioned above (by doing that, you allow me to upload the song at ThaSauce. Continue the process by filling in your information. You will get a question to confirm that you're not a robot. Here are some possible answers: Name a compo: PRC Who organizes One Hour Compo: Starla Name a ThaSauce subdomain: compo.thasauce.net Who created Mega Mans: Capcom A confirmation mail will be send. There might be some issues with it (meaning that you don't get it), if that is the case, upload the song somewhere else as described above. Once registered, login with your username and password, go to the mentioned page and submit the song. If you want submit two or more songs you can create multiple ThaSauce accounts or upload the song somewhere else and post the download link. After uploadeding your song, please check if your song plays and can be downloaded and played without problems. Only upload MP3 files. PRC instructions The deadline is Tuesday January 3rd 2017 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT), check the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. Make sure that the song is uploaded to ThaSauce or that a download link is posted in this thread. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that if you use ThaSauce, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can also upload it somewhere else and put a download link in this thread. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted in this thread. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of this round may select the source for PRC340. The winner of last round, (unknown yet) can participate without restrictions. You can find the full rules list at this page as well. GOOD LUCK! PRC ThaSauce Home Page!

  5. Hello! As you may or may not know, MAGFest is happening soon, and just like every year for the past decade, we'll be having a special month over at Dwelling of Duels, with a live listening party at MAGFest! Exact details about the listening party to follow. The tradition is to pick a unique and interesting theme for the MAGFest duel, and this time it's... 80s vs 90s Month That's right, we're pitting two awesome decades against each other! Which had the better video games? Which had the better music? Which had the better video game music? All of these questions will be answered this month. Artists can chose either the 80s or the 90s, and remix songs from a game (or multiple games) released in that decade. Featuring games from both decades in a single entry is not allowed. Other than that, all standard rules apply: http://dwellingofduels.net/rules/ Now, what makes this duel special, other than the live listening party, you ask? Well, we're happy to announce a partnership with Impact Soundworks! Top 3 artists (or groups/bands) will each get one library out of the following: Super Audio Cart, Shreddage Bass 2, Shreddage Guitar or Shreddage Drums. Fun fact: Shreddage Bass 2 was recorded by the ocremix artist, bass virtuoso and the person with the most DoD gold medals, Tony Dickinson a.k.a. Prince uf Darkness! But wait, there's more: entrants will be able to get a 10% discount on all Impact Soundworks libraries! So, get your instruments ready, start making some music, and enter the duel! Deadline for submissions is January 3rd, 2017 at 1PM EST. Send your entries to dodsongs@gmail.com. If you come to MAGFest, be sure to drop by the listening party (80s or 90s fashion not required). We promise it's gonna be fun, as you can see in this video: For those not familiar with DoD: Dwelling of Duels is a monthly (or sometimes bi-monthly) video game music remixing competition started back in 2003. The focus is on live instruments: each entry needs to have a main instrument played live. A theme is picked for each duel and all the entries have to follow the theme. At the end of the month, listeners vote for the songs and a winner is decided. To this day, there have been: - 2778 entries, from - 1070 games, by - 714 artists, in - 154 duels, having - 167+ hours of music! http://dwellingofduels.net/

  7. This is amazing. I'm definitely up for this. I can read sheets, I've sung in choirs before, I'm a tenor and I also have experience with and a passion for choir arranging.

  10. Definitely! Depending on who's interested and can give me good quality, I could make this arrangement much larger in an ez. Sheet music is how I typically get things done for games, lol.

  11. Welcome to the voting stage The mixing stage is over. This round has 2 songs. The following people compete against each other Hoboka Overkillius To vote, do the following: Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries. Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen. Fill in the entries from first to second. Leave the third box empty. State a reasoning for it. Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. However, they may not vote for themselve, they only have to fill in the first box, they should leave the second and third box empty. They get a free first place if they vote, so it doesn't matter for the results. Non participants are encouraged to vote to decide the winner and leave comments. The winner of last round, DJ Mokram, has a vote that counts twice. Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results. You have until THIS Friday, December 16th 10:59 am ThaSauce time to vote. The winner may choose the source tune for PRC339. PRC338 will start in a couple of minutes, it's a free round. Check the ThaSauce Page to vote. If anyone have issues voting via ThaSauce you can vote by sending me a PM at Ocremix.

  13. No need to apologize - in fact, thank you for telling me now. I'll remove your claims. I'm curious to hear this. Yeah, I know I'm being slow about putting the new SCRAMBLE WIP together with all the parts. Time to do music has been in short supply these last few weeks due to school, and I'm trying to get my own WIP going on top of the other commitments I've made. Once you have something together, let me know. Always open to new ideas! I hope to, once I get enough together to get a copy, but it's be a late Christmas present to myself if I do. If you send it, I will post....

  15. As a multiple woodwind specialist, I know I can't be amazing at everything unless I practice everything right in a row. So, I need to be able to play Flute, then Sax, then Clarinet all in a row and IN TUNE dear god help me. In a recording environment, I just want to go for one at a time if it aint too much trouble, then work out kinks from there. Also, I tend to write stuff that avoids my secondaries if possible. I do enjoy playing flute and clarinet, but let me tell you, you can't master everything. Actually, I can say that my woodwind playing has suffered from my brass playing. AND my classical playing suffers from playing jazz - the reverse is true as well. Strange stuff. What HAS formed a symbiotic relationship is my guitar playing and bass playing combined with my wind instruments. Playing bass has enhanced everything. Its amazing. Let me say, as well, that I think multi-instrumentalist stuff is for the birds, subjectively speaking. We should write for what is on hand and available. According to the world at large, it takes 10,000 hours to be an expert at anything, and even though I have long passed that 10,000 hour mark, I still do not feel like an expert on my primary instrument. Sad truth. I even know my teacher in grad school felt the same way about his playing. There is always something more to perfect. Moral of the story is there is someone out there willing to play *expertly* the thing that you write, and they can let you know if its possible or not. There should be no shame in collaborating with someone.

  16. Easy favorite at my end, right up there with The Answer. Just a fully realized vision. My earliest reaction upon listening is lamenting how much I've missed Neskvartetten. "Dream of Green" in particular is quite amazing, with the kind of soul that's hard to describe, but I suspect the bass is a factor. Tight arrangement everywhere. No question, keeping an eye out for any and all future product from the Collective.
