Thanks for ending my evening with a laugh, Bigfoot -- I just finished a massive term paper and wasn't in a good mood until just now.

^The first book isn't nearly as anti-Christian as everyone (read: all the losery protesters too busy caring about a movie to help feed homeless people etc) wants you to believe. There's certainly a case to be made about the 2nd and 3rd books in the series though....it'll be interesting to see what they do about the movies (if they get that far). Still, the books aren't so bad as to ruin the world or anything.

There's a song by Faithless entitled "Evergreen" that will always bring up memories of UT99 for me. A great song to snipe to.

I've got both versions, and the Wii is far superior. The only thing the DS has going for it is that I can play during work in the lab, etc. Still, both are excellent. I'd highly advise playing without the stylus on the DS -- it will seem like you will lose a degree of analog control, but the slower speed on the system makes up for that (and it feels even more like Smash TV, which isn't a bad thing).

Technically, the stars don't "necessarily" mean that that's the review score they got, and it doesn't say that in the graphic. Still, the best comment on Kotaku was "5/10 stars, lol."

This is a serious problem much of the time, and the reason why Pictochat on the DS completely sucks. Kirby: Canvas Curse had an option to actively search for Pictochat people while you played -- EVERY DS game should come with this option. Similarly, your friends should be able to tell if you have Smash in your Wii -- if you're playing single player, more than likely you'd be willing to hop online and play your friends. Nintendo should borrow a page from Half-Life 2 in this regard.

Atma, if you know -- how's the connectivity between Wii and DS on Geometry Wars?

I agree with everyone that wants the pig-based Ganon for a FS a la LttP, Oracle, and OoT -- it's way better than WW and TP. Let's go with the LttP Ganon so we get a trident though...tridents = win. I'd sacrifice all of that if we could give Link a Deku Mask move from MM to increase his speed and trade out some of his normals every once in a while though -- IMO Link is too slow, especially if they try and bring things back to their N64 roots.

^ I lol'd. I loved the Phoenix trilogy -- probably my favorite series on the DS thus far. The cheapest thing about CC's in SFA3 hasn't been mentioned yet, btw...it's not that they take 80% if they connect (which they can), because that would be blockable / counterable based on the "if". Said "chance" about them connecting is raised significantly by the fact that the activation causes a few frames of complete invulnerablity (especially useful as you jump in for the combo). With that said, SFA3 remains the most fun for me.

For now, I prefer 2004, but I've only played the demo of UT3. Also, my computer won't run UT3 as happy as I would like it to (I'm a 3.0 Ghz, 7800GTX setup).

I read his review of the game, and honestly I feel that it's fair. I haven't played the game myself to see if those problems actually exist, but I thought this particular review was at least honest -- better than shoving an 8.5 at the game because Eidos dropped a lot of money to advertise it.

I couldn't get into SF3. I was told by numerous people that I should move on from SFA3 (my favorite 2d fighter hands down), but Third Strike just doesn't have the magic that SSF2T and SFA3 do for some reason. I admit that part of it may have to do with my resistance to an almost completely new roster, but I don't think that's clouding my judgement too much.

One 8800GTX will play Crysis on near-full settings -- your rig will certainly run it, and I'd imagine that it will do a pretty damn good job of it as well. How much are you looking for, in any case?

Get the charger -- you'll save a lot of money on not buying batteries in the long run.

I'm wondering if there's any sort of unofficial RO server that a lot of people play on -- I really like the game, but only enjoy it in the company of people I can chat with...soloing gets boring fast for me. Does anyone here play, and if so, on which server? Note that I'm looking for a free private server with a smaller community, not a pay-to-play server. Some rate hikes (in the lines of 5x/5x/3x) would be alright too, though those numbers certainly don't need to be concrete by any means.

Having to compare Space Invaders against New Super Mario Bros. against Ragnarok Online (note: the world's best interactive chat room) was odd.

I can reliably beat everything except Rat Race 3, and Stage 12 (the damn spinning tower). Occasionally I'll pull everything off, but it doesn't happen that often.

Has anyone here picked up UMK3 for DS yet? It's not bad, but I wish they would have put MK Trilogy on instead -- I miss Raiden, and the "red" moves.

Olympics is hit-or-miss depending on the event. Archery and skeet shooting are good, for instance. Running (and therefore hurdles) gets boring after you do it the 100th time. Swimming and high jump are my favorites right now. Also, has anyone picked up the Wii Zapper yet? It's fun, but unless a solid FPS comes out very soon, it's going to sit and collect dust -- Link's Crossbow Training isn't all that great after an hour.

Have you played Jets N' Guns? It was a freebie a few weeks ago (thanks to The Coop for letting all of us know!) on game.giveawayoftheday.com. In any case, I love shmups, and would be more than happy to have another -- I'll give your game a shot tonight when everything else I have to do is done.
