Ha, well from my experience, most choir singers are usually not amazing solo singers. Thats why they put them in a group, you know, the whole, 2 things are better than one thing.

Yeh the pod looks pretty solid. I was thinking of getting the rack mount one which would be pretty handy in a project studio surrounding.

If you have 500 bux, definatley get yourself an MBox, you wont be disappointed.

depending on your price range their are a bunch of options. You can basically get the same piece of equipment that does the same thing for 150 dollars, or 500 dollars. The differences is Tascam, M-audio etc. Vs. Digidesign. The cheaper ones are pretty decent, they just lack the amazing pre's that Digidesign uses. Either way if its in your budget i'd recommend an M-Box. If your looking for lower end, something like a fast track or something similar is also good.

if its usb your looking for take a look at a B.L.U.E. Snowball, their not to bad, similar to the Blue ball mic, just with usb power. This is definitely one of the more professional USB mics that you can find for cheap, i belive its around 110-110 bucks.

if your just looking for a mic for good vocal use, get an sm58, or a 57, if you plan on doing any instrument recroding in the near future.

Make sure you have the desired channel selected, and then open the mixer and click right click on the Insert you wish to link to the channel, and click "Link selected channels to this track"

are you talking like a sound coming from your system? If so, Im not sure how it works on macs. On Pc's just go to your mixer and change your recording device to Stereo Mix, which will record sounds coming from your soundcard

could be your latency, try raising your buffer speed.

Keyboards are tough. You just gotta play alot of them, and it also depends on what you need. If your planning on using it for remixing only and a real piano feel is not important, than a midi controller is good. If you are a full pledged pianist and you will be using it outside of the studio, then you want to get something with a full set of 88 keys, with hammer weight action (that actually feels natural), and a built in synth so you can play live. I purchased a M-Audio Prokeys 88. Its not amazing but its fairly decent. The weighting is a bit off and the dynamic range of the keys is not all that amazing. Some of the Yamaha P series are known to be very good for their weighting and sound though, they might be right for you. Check out a P90, those are nice.

This is very sad indeed. His remixes were some of the first I had heard on the internet and kind of got me into the whole remix scene. My prayers go out to him.

It really just depends on your budget. For 200 dollars there are alot of decent headphones out there, infact some pretty good ones. Just take alook at some sennheisers, and some AKG's in that price range and choose what you like.

I'd have to see a spec sheet, I can't say just from description. It seems like a strongly built microphone, so I guess (again taking away the specs) it would be good for live applications, but I don't think it'd make the ideal studio mic.

Theres two main ways in which you can do this. 1)Right click on the tempo clock and click "Edit Events", and from there a piano roll-eque window will pop up and you can draw in the time for your song. Left to right is your time and up to down is your BPM. 2)Right click on the tempo clock and click "Create Automation Clip". From there you can click on View>Playlist and this is where your tracks sit (if your in song mode then this is more handy). At the bottom of the window is your automation clip. You can lengthen it and move it around to suit the length of your song, and then you can create anchor points and what not to change the tempo (decided by the height of the line) I hope this helps.

Im guessing that midi would be faster, seeing how it is more of an analog signal and is more basic of a language than converting midi to a digital signal through a device which requires drivers for it to take place. (please tell me if im wrong, im just hypothesizing)

Midi keyboard is definatley the way to go if your just doing it in your house. Go buy yourself a semi-decent midi controller with lots of nobs (than you can feel like its a synth). Couple of good VST's include Minimoog V Arturia ARP EMS Synthi A (hard to find, but its definatley very retro) Sytrus Massive
