Really..? I thought it wasn't as popular because many could not find the actual game.. I sure as hell couldn't find it when it came out... Kinda like how I couldn't find a copy of Digital Devil Saga 1 or even two back when they came out. So very few copies...

Could be worse, there's this kid a few blocks down that is never allowed to have a second player on account of he's so fucking spoiled he'd cry in frustration for losing horribly on Madden 09 TO THE COMPUTER. Not a human player BUT THE CPU FOR FUCKS SAKES!

People really like to see their favorite/well-known mascots beat the shit out of each other. What else do you need to know..? Think back to that image where you got a bunch of Fast Food Mascots lined up ready to do battle against one another; in the image's case it was Wendy vs Ronald McDonald. Hell you had Jack-in-the-Box, Carls, as well as the Burger King taking on a pseudo Akuma/Rugal motif going Some would love to see their favorite fast food places win out, despite how bad they are for your health for the most part. Back in the day, there was a lot of interest having a good fight between Sonic and Mario. Crash Bandicoot at one point would be mentioned every once in a while but he pretty much faded away. These days there's still some interest in seeing fights between Mario and Sonic but not as feverish as it were back then; especially ever since Sega no longer have a huge placehold on the console territory hardware-wise...

Before you even shell out the cash, and you tried the pagepoolsize trick..? http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131328 As for the card, I'd say its a good buy. I prefer the BFG cards just based on personal experience, but they tend to be on the pricey side...

It is a good day for Virtual Console
Schwaltzvald replied to Shadow Wolf's topic in General Discussion
Forgoing the whole ethic's-behind-roms spiel, I can see it being these days as a matter of convenience and personal preferences. As much as I enjoyed Final Fantasy VI on my pc I'd enjoyed it more on my TV than on my PC. I rather see my classic SMW and SMRPG on the TV than on the PC because of comfortability on the couch as well as being able to share the console with others who may want to play it while I'm multitasking on the PC. Not to mention keep people off my PC. Also on a personal note I buy them off the VC because I can and have the cash to burn and I'd rather enjoy my gaming time however I wish I would LOVE to being able to play Seiken Densetsu III on the VC or even on the old SNES, but since I can't I'd settle for the PC emulation. In fact the only times I've ever settled on emulation would be on rare/never-seen-in-the-USA games as well as PS1 games since I no longer have my old PS1 mem card... IMO the couch is a HELL of a lot comfier than the chair I'd only use when I'm working or playing FPS/RTS/SIMCITY games... -
I've been trying to find copies of Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2. While I've managed to find them in a particular shop, I want to see if I can try getting them from here at a better price... Also to who ever wanted Okami for the PS2, it's been re-released as a Greatist Hits title... Try searching for it on Amazon or Best Buy... Should be selling for about $20 or so...

Half-Life 2: Episode Two "texture trouble"
Schwaltzvald replied to Zellfreid's topic in General Discussion
http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131328 Do the following at your own risk... - - - On windows XP ONLY!!! Start Menu > Run > regedit Surf down to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below: (Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.) Megabytes Hexadecimal Decimal 192Mb 0c000000 201326592 256Mb 10000000 268435456 384Mb 18000000 402653184 I went with the 384Mb option and it worked perfectly. Once you are done, make sure you reboot your computer. -
The sound looping issue is actually a Source engine bug that for most people it's not a huge deal breaker. Sad but true the bug is something that Valve has yet to fix. In fact for the most part it's not as noticeable and often goes away for me. The most obvious times I've seen it is in TF2 when I die as HWGuy with Sasha firing and it goes away as soon as I respawn... As for the pagepool trick, it only applies to graphical/technical issues. For some it fixes alot of problems for players, For others it does nothing... Goodluck making it work.. or just get a new pc that's actually beefy... BTW: The sound looping issue is universal, doesn't matter what OS you're using to run Orange Box Don't blame windows for your inept computer

Half-Life 2: Episode Two "texture trouble"
Schwaltzvald replied to Zellfreid's topic in General Discussion
I'd take this opportunity to consider upgrading to a better gfx card, but if that's not possible for you, have you updated the drivers as well recently..? I doubt the following, but if you haven't updated them for a VERY long time, that could be the reason... But imo do considering getting a new card... Also I recommend you do the "pagepool" trick so that you will have an easier time in the future... Only recommended if your OS is Windows XP... -
The funny thing is I felt that the entire Resident Evil weren't truly meant to be "scary" in the traditional sense. It was just one huge series of b-monster movies with a storyline that's more or less cohesive that most series that have gone on for a good while. All they really are is action movies with some horrific elements. The "scare" factor just mainly comes from the player becoming so entrenched into the game that the player places him/herself in the place of whomever the player is controlling. THAT is what brings about the scare factor, where personal thoughts of survival bring up survival instincts that are more or less often left out of games. When the player realizes his/her limitations with in a game (why the fuck cant you use a chair to beat the shit out of zombies in RE1 ) the player soon panics...

Paper mario and the thousand year door Bi-remix
Schwaltzvald replied to KoRoBeNiKi's topic in ReMix Requests
Twilight Town's theme is already dark in a melancholy-like way, and the Tower of Riddles theme already is eerie itself... Reminds me a bit of Smithy's domain except in the theme of it being in ruins with mutants running about... You aiming for a different variation of Twilight Town..? Ala minor key..? Goodluck to who ever takes up the request. -
Here try some Sandro Boticelli or Georges de La Tour Also try Early Renaissance period for more easy examples. Also search for the Baroque period paintings. Goodluck

Have you tried to play Siren for the PS2..? A very good survival horror game. Heck to my understanding the PS3 Siren remake/retranslation is supposedly easier for players than the original...
-
You're probably thinking of the arranged version, it was on another thread I think that mentioned an arranged sound track would be coming out. Remember the Hornetman mix..? Correction: The cd is mentioned here on this thread... They're selling an AST http://www.inti.co.jp/cd/rockman9ast/index.htm (from earlier)
-
Any of you guys remember this..? Well it seems after 2 years the guy updated it and had released its final iteration as of March this year. I should have seen it on my updates before... For those that still have the old DOOM II wads, have fun, I know I will.

New Castlevania for PS3/360, SotN sequel?
Schwaltzvald replied to lazygecko's topic in General Discussion
I'm quite aware of that, I suppose I should specifically state the fact that Simon Belmont, John Morris, as well as Leon Belmont (to a lesser degree) were able to swing over hazards using their whips. Also the "alternative" game play on Castlevanias tend to be half hearted, incomplete. Which is why I refer to MMX4. In that game you can complete the original game in either way of style. X and Zero played very differently and yet both can face Sigma in the end. In the SotN, You couldn't really finish the game as Richter (as I recall I could be wrong)... I don't think in Aria of Sorrow you could get the true ending as Julius Belmont, although considering the circumstances behind it that's expected but still... I don't even remember if u can face Graham as Julius in AoS... As for timeline, yeah it's about time I just threw that out the window. -
New Castlevania for PS3/360, SotN sequel?
Schwaltzvald replied to lazygecko's topic in General Discussion
It better be more difficult than the original was... Also seing as how the entire timeline is, for the most part fucked up, what's its reasoning for this adventure to exist? I'm all for another good castlevania 2d game, but if its simply for the sake of adventure, just say it aint canon like what happened to Castlevania Legends after they retconned it... oh yeah, please bring back the SCIV gameplay too... Maybe make it another way to play the game much like how X and Zero played differently in MMX4... Heck Castlevania Bloodlines on the Genesis did it... -
To further elaborate, here's a thread on the living situation involving PG County, however it seems to be a year old..? A lot can change in a year... The thing is I'd just stay the fuck out of PG... http://www.city-data.com/forum/maryland/72796-stop-denegrating-pg-county-49.html The next is for the Baltimore area, though Drum probably would be better to ask on his perspectuve as this ought to be taken with a grain of salt... In particularly the comments... http://www.topix.com/forum/county/baltimore-md/TMBDC3FSRBOC24IUG
-
Which county in Maryland are ya going to be placed..? If you're lucky you'll not get stuck in Prince George's County, worst county in Maryland ever imo... Fairfax or Montgomery are at least tolerable but if you're renting, be ready to do some real home hunting. Goodluck nonetheless.

FAC - VOTES ARE IN - Fan Art Competition 18: Sidekicks
Schwaltzvald replied to Bleck's topic in Competitions
Oh Frank Frezetta..? I don't see why not... Then again you could make the image too funny to see it erotically. side note* I rarely if ever post on these contest threads but I've always enjoyed the art that comes from them. I hope they continue on in Atmuh's absense. -

Such as The Birth of Venus and the Adonis statue tasteful nudity..? edit: Damn gollgagh beat me to it... -
Just stick with winamp for them as iTunes is aweful in this regard... I say this only because of bad personal experience and grudge against iTunes; among other things...

To be fair, the west were just getting into the swing of "super-deformed" art styles and well... yeah... Remember it was an evolution in progress. Remember the covers for MM1 and 2..? At 3 they were getting closer to the Megaman we know as of today. Heck the cover for Megaman 6 Is the closest they were with the blue bomber today before his image was finalized... Of course MM9 cover is a joke image but still... Also even as a child it always bothered me how the perspective in the cover of MM4 was fucked up. Pharoah man in the image makes Dr. Cossack's Castle look like a toy or a carved out pedistal that he happens to try take advantage to hit Megaman(Rock) And yet Rock's not even paying attention... What the fuck? also.... WHY YOU ASSHOLES CAN'T DO SOME AWESOME SHIT LIKE THIS?! EVEN IF IT'S SIMPLE DO SOMETHING DAMNIT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFxpFWH3_jo Also to put more salt on the wounds... This is pretty fucking sweet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0TaaD_fj4M&feature=related

SH1 though technically you're not unarmed.. at least a little after the intro you're not. Same with SH3 and hell in SH4 they thrust the trusty old pipe to you to beat the tar out of your enemies before you even get to their territory (get the god damn axe it's a real life saver). Give them a try some day... Also technically you're not alone when in Silent Hill You've also forgot Clock Tower 3. Oh sure you got a "weapon" but the damn thing is barely useful in which in all practicality you're truly unarmed. To make matters worse if you're panicing not only do you become much easier prey but also you start panicking in real like because you can't seem to control the protagonist correctly when she's panicking in the first place; least till you get to a boss fight. Edit: In fatal frame you had a weapon which came in the form of a camera. I've not played Haunting Ground but I'm familiar with the whole, immortal creatures that keep coming after you, in particularly the Victims from SH4...
