I know the feeling, where as for me, I've become hesitant on a game coming out from atlus. Having had an associate who played the original japanese version (imported) he said it was an enjoyable SRPG; yet upon further research people that are waiting for the American release are worried about long loading times not being fixed... I asked about this and he said he didn't really notice... ugh I hate it when that kind of shit happens... (I know somewhat far from the issues on the first Fable but still...)

Anybody else's AmEx card frozen?
Schwaltzvald replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in General Discussion
Can I assume it's something on the 1k or 5k range on your credit limit..? Because I think they just slap the word "platinum" on just about any card these days as I have another friend who uses a capital one platinum mastercard with a credit limit of $500. He just got it and is starting up on building his credit for the first time. -
Couldn't you say "NO OBNOXIOUS SIGS KTHX" DS..? As much as I enjoyed Majora's Mask and OoT, that gif sig of the salesman was obnoxiously huge...

Are there any games that play with your phobias?
Schwaltzvald replied to Malaki-LEGEND.sys's topic in General Discussion
Awww you weren't suppose to spoil it now man! I loved going to "haunted" buildings when I was a kid. Mainly because I enjoyed finding answers to them, like rodents making everything behind the walls go apeshit. When I got to that mansion/house in SH3, I was rather entertained and enjoyed my time there until it happened. First time ever I just cursed out madly, mainly because I didn't save when I had the chance and royally fucked up. Also I wanted to see what was beyond the light... -

Yeah.. better stay away from Silent Hill 1 & 3, especially 3 as I recall there was a section in some underground corridor/sewers where the audio intentionally had this loud banging gradually get louder and louder the longer you stayed within it. I don't remember if it meant some horrible creature of death was coming or it was just psychological. Either way I was playing on hard mode so I got the fuck out of there when that came on. also... FUCKING GOD DAMN CHEAP ASS HAUNTED HOUSE! >:L -

If that were the case I'd imagine more would be affected than the AmEx cards... -

I've heard the same thing from a couple of friends who were trying to pay for some new clothes. Makes me glad I went for Visa/Mastercard but that's besides the point. http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5831950 I'm seeing a lot of posts about AmEx cards being frozen but for a variety of reasons... edit* Why is it that AmEx cards are not used as easily compared to visa/mastercard cards..? -
Always thought they just simply mutated into mmorpgs, and even then I'd rather play an rpg on a console over a PC; Fable 2 however I'll pass...

Except that he has earned that position on skill alone, not to mention the other three are fun to fight.

In the case of water - Humans can't physically hate water, mentally though... It goes into the fears of drowning, having constricted movement in water to a degree, not to mention rational/irrational fears of undersea creatures attacking humans. Also the great uknowns of the sea always brings up terror for those already predisposed to it... Space actually shares some similarities with the fear of water; exceptions of course being things space related... -

While I don't have a phobia persay, I do hate it thet whenever I kill something, it has a bad habit of coming back at me much angrier and viciously. This mainly applies to those damn regenerators in RE4; however I've always found it funny to simply use the flash nades against them to kill them. -
Night of the Living Dead reanimated
Schwaltzvald replied to The Pezman's topic in General Discussion
I just hope it's not a bad remake of sorts (The Ring vs Ringu); in this case will it being reanimated make it any better..? -
IT BETTER HAVE! >:L

Friend bought it and invited me to try. While it really could have been done on the GBA or even DS (rework the shaking to scribbling the stylus back and forth fast) it's not bad of a game. Found myself going back over the same level at times just to see if I can beat the side missions inbetween simply finding the treasure chests holding the loot. I do however miss the old days where you had to bring the key to the door to unlock the room to get the treasure... (wario land 1) I would say rental, but those that end up actually enjoy it a lot more may as well buy it.

Do you have a NES/Atari/SNES/Sega/N64...
Schwaltzvald replied to glasfen's topic in General Discussion
It's indeed for memory. Bought one myself when the n64 was still warm on the market. Plugged it in and there were some noticable differences between having it and not having it. Quake II for the N64 played faster and looked better, Castlevania 64:LoD had less jaggies and played smoother. Starcraft 64 was much smoother as well. (Big fan of the games I bought the gimped n64 version of starcraft) The original cartridge inside the slot was black while the memory expansion had a red cover to it. -

Only duke nukem I've ever played was DN3d. I still play it to this day except now I can't go back to the original sound track ever since I installed the high quality redone sound track for it... Lots of Quake matches too later on... -
Do you have a NES/Atari/SNES/Sega/N64...
Schwaltzvald replied to glasfen's topic in General Discussion
Commodore only worked when it wanted to (childhood friend had one), the Atari 2600 though was awesome and with its simple slid in cartridge with the switch flipping. No damn keyboard needed for just the simplest of games. Though it was not long before I had put away the 2600 for the NES when it came out. Got the system which had included SMB as well as duck hunt in one cartridge then Zelda.. Anybody here who had the NES and the gun ever noticed weird things about the gun? A coworker of mine who also grew up with the NES always told me his gun would always shoot off in a pattern in duckhunt. I never noticed a pattern and I think only once I had ever make a perfect score on the duck section. fucking clay pigeons were bullet proof I tell ya... -

I've actually seen in stores like best buy or circuit city that sell special decals/covering that give that grip you prefer for the classic controllers. What I find funny is that the original snes controllers had that weird semi rough texture to it where as the classic are smooth... example: http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=15110 As for the old systems that still work... N64, Sege Genesis, NES, SNES and even the old fat gameboy model (transparent shell version). However some of the games either don't work any more or just malfunction; a majority of my nes library still works, (gold zelda 1 cartridge included)... -
The Colbert Cell: a new type of armor my friend is developing
Schwaltzvald replied to kitty's topic in General Discussion
I'd be amazed if this new armor can stop a RPG-29 assault as well as being able to give the lighter military vehicle passengers a chance to survive. -
Not sure what to really think about the movie considering the book of the same name was okay when I read it. On one hand, if it takes a different approach from the rest of the zombie flicks it may actually be interesting. On the other hand, Seeing how it may be more of a "serious" mockumentary it may end up employing a lot of flashbacks... It may as well been better off staying in book form. Also based on the info I've found the script is being worked on the same guy whose written some twenty-one episodes for the "Real Ghostbusters" cartoons... Any room for one more zombie flick..?

To add to his comment, here's a sample of what you can have to on HBchannel to those that don't have it...

Which always struck me funny since they were always referred to as 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7 instead of the the roman numerals, where as in the GB games it's the roman numerals. But hey so long as it's comes out, they can name it 0b1001 if they want to.
-
The roman numerals were generally reserved for the gameboy games; see Megaman II, III, IV, & V versus Megaman, Megaman 2, 3 , 4 , 5, 6 ect... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man_(original_series)

I'd recommend this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104034 If only because paying nearly $200 for a PSU is a bit much...
