  1. DiGi and I had always discussed doing a joke mix of that called "Living here is shitty"
  2. I'm going to kill myself for doing this but.... Put me down for Batsugun - COMPLIMENTARY TICKET. I may have to drop it down the line but I should know come Summer whether I can squeeze something quick in or not. Might be a cool idea to reverse the stereotype of SHMUP music and make it all mellow and acoustic.
  3. Not answering on behalf of the director BUT considering that vaporware/unreleased games have already been featured on OCR (Such as Star Fox 2) from an eligibility perspective on the staff side, Sonic Xtreme should be fine. The music MUST be in the game's code, though. No music from trailers or previews would be allowed unless the game itself had the code in there for it. Edit: Oh one other thing, and this KILLS me to say but any ReMix of Segata Sanshiro's theme would need to be discussed by staff as to whether or not we can have it on an album. I know point-blank it would not qualify to be a posted ReMix, so it would not be eligible for a mixflood due to the song originally being written and used in a TV commercial and not in a game. However, being on an album is questionable as the source materials valid for albums differ slightly from ReMixes. Some songs on the Super Dodge Ball album were ineligible for mixposting but still allowed on the album due to them being based on old regional folk songs. I'll ask the staff and get back on that.
  4. This is my jam today: Beatdrop - Overflow Followed by: Planes Mistaken for Stars - Hollow Point and Whiskey PMFS is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, what with the severely indie aesthetics and recording techniques but I have yet to find a band that packed as much raw energy into songs as they did. 1:54 to the end pumps me so fucking hard. Edit: Adding one more for a ridiculously intense end: Secret Chiefs 3 - Horsemen of the Invisible I have no comment except it is a must listen to for intense world-inspire music
  5. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten bumped in six years. Daytona USA C.C.E. - The American Dream Daytona USA C.C.E. - Pounding Pavement Tiny Phalanx - Moon Side Edit: I've also been listening to a lot of The Damned, Funeral for a Friend, and the Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing soundtrack for workout motivation. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT PUMPS YOU UP. Sure would be cool to tie this in with the fitocracy thread.
  6. Challenge accepted. I have a rip of it that I can upload sometime in the near future. Also totally forgot Blazing Heroes. That had an absolutely stellar soundtrack. And as much as I would like to help directing this, I think I did my piece with the NiGHTS album. Again, I wouldn't want to sign on to any projects that I wouldn't have the time to give my all on, since that would be worse than not participating at all. I WILL be watching this very closely and, of course, giving my staff aid. May I also mention that I'm looking for a few full time secretaries so I can turn my life into an outsourced business model?
  7. As one of OCR's most vocal resident Saturn-whores, I humbly endorse this product and/or service. Here's a quicky list of all the Saturn games that have amazingly unique material, IMHO: Albert Odyssey Assault Suit Leynos 2 Astal Batsugun Burning Rangers Christmas NiGHTS Clockwork Knight Clockwork Knight 2 Daytona USA Daytona USA Championship Circuit Edition (totally different soundtrack for the most part, AMAZING classic rock songs) Dragon Force Enemy Zero (careful which songs from this one: some previously appeared on other works by the composer) Fighters Megamix Fighting Vipers Galactic Attack Guardian Heroes Gungriffon Gungriffon II The House of the Dead Iron Storm Kingdom Grand Prix Langrisser series Magic Knight Rayearth Metal Black Mr. Bones NiGHTS into Dreams... (duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge Panzer Dragoon Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Panzer Dragoon Saga Radiant Silvergun Ronde Saturn Bomberman Sega Rally Championship Shinning Force III Shinning The Holy Ark Shinning Wisdom Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Sonic 3D Blast Sonic R Virtua Cop Virtua Cop 2 Virtua Fighter Virtua Fighter 2 Virtual On I'm sure there's more but yeah those, listen to those. Edit: While I'd love to be able to help out firsthand with this project, considering my unrestrained infatuation with it, I am sadly overburdened right now. I can only offer what I offer to all other project directors: staff guidance and assistance to whomever gets this off the ground, if anyone. Right now there's only one other album that's taken a focus specifically to a system, and that's the GB 25th anniversary album. The concept of doing a love-letter to a whole system is great, just don't make it too large. Keep it manageable in size since you can always do a second one if the first one is a success, however if you try to do too much it may fail and you'll end up with nothing, especially if its your first time trying to direct something (tl;dr: keep it two discs or less).
  8. Preview it: http://www.youtube.com/embed/fOX2aGUGp5c Download it: http://milkyway.ocremix.org Torrent: http://bt.ocremix.org/torrents/Milky_Way_Wishes_-_A_Kirby_Super_Star_Tribute.torrent And here we are. What an amazing journey this has been. It is quite a trip looking back through the years of this project, I am not going to lie. Almost 8 years... wow. So many memories and friendships were made during this, and I treasure each and every one of them deeply. This project means so much to me personally. Reflecting on each memory really tugs at the heart strings. As I was browsing through the art files while listening to the soundtrack, I found myself starting to think about all the memories I have treasured working on this since the day it started. Those memories that I treasured started to just flood my mind all at once: all the laughs and joy shared between all the artists, all the hype that was created when the project first debuted... heck, even the arguments that was had between my younger, dopey self and others about progress and how things should be. That is when I realized something: throughout the years, the project became something more than just a collaboration. It became something that was "real" to me. Development for this project was very interesting. Throughout the lifespan of this, I have gone through 8 hard drive crashes. This constant data loss set back the project immensely, which explains why the updates came pretty frequently at first, but then came only every so often. Not only that, but I have gone through 9 different Flash artists, probably the biggest setback. Development for the storybook side of things was pretty much in a perpetual state of limbo because of the constant problems I had with artists, either with pay (learning experience for sure here), commitment problems, or just straight communication. Suffice to say, the production of this was definitely a unique experience. Definitely stressful, but memories I would not trade for the world. I want to thank every single person who was involved during the development of this project. The whole thing wouldn't have even reached this far if it wasn't for the staff that I have worked with. Each one of you guys are so amazing and deserve so much praise. I could seriously go on and on, raving about each of you and just how amazing every single contribution you have made to this project was and just how much it meant to me personally, but that would make this far too long (and far too sappy). I will say, at least, that I platonically love each and every one of you and I thank you all. The friendships that I have made with you are bonds that I will cherish forever. I want to also apologize to every single fan out there who has waited ever so patiently for the release of the project and was hoping to see the Flash storybook I dreamed up come to life. Deciding to release the project as-is was by no means an easy decision for me to make, trust me. I slept very little the night I submitted this because of how much this affected me personally. It felt like a small piece of me left me, but in the end I know it is for the best. It has come to the point in this project's life where I have to just let it go. And, with all that said, I present you with the fruits of the labor of the most amazing and awesome staff that anyone could have asked for. Some files are unfortunately missing (thank you HD crashes and failures), but a vast majority of everything is still retained and put up on this site. Thanks for the memories, guys. - Niraj Sharma (Arek the Absolute) After a long and arduous, nearly 10-year journey, I'm finally proud to present Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute! I'd like to extend a deep, heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to and stuck with the project after all these years, through all the silly delays, project rebirths, and the mind-numbingly long periods of absolute silence. It's all over now, and the result is something very special and dear to my heart. I'm so excited for you all to finally hear it. Please enjoy Milky Way Wishes! - Drew Wheeler (halc) If anyone thinks directing an album is easy, I have two words for them: think again. I came on the album very late in the game. Currently, I'm one of the main OCR staffers who tracks albums and helps directors prepare for their release. I had been in talks with Arek about getting a bundle of the album ready for me to begin album prep for quite a few months, since he had decided that the storybook idea was likely not to get finished within a reasonable time to meet his expectations. I had been poking and prodding him off and on until I got a call one morning that the whole album had been posted on the forums as a bundle. As an artist on the album, this was not the release I was told it would get when I signed on. As a staffer waiting to get my hands on the file, this was not what I had expected either. This album has more heart in it than most other things I've come across in my life. The art, the music, and the legacy that this album has deserved to be given a proper release. I've had the music since it was submitted for evaluation two years ago. Milky Way Wishes has been inches away from being released for so long, how could I let every bit of hard work reach completion in a minimalist release? After talking with Arek, halc, and the staff, I ended up coming on to take care of the odds and ends to get this ready to roll out. My experience with administering this album may have been short, but it has been intense. halc and Arek and everyone else involved with it should be proud of what it is, instead of what it could have been, because as it is, this is one amazing tribute to the little pink puffball. - Stevo Bortz (Level 99)
  9. Just got an email about the project: Ouya starts shipping to Kickstarter backers on March 28th.
  10. It's not that your opinion is unpopular, its just that it doesn't likely reflect the same sentiment as other artists on the album. Speaking as one of them, I was approached for the Plaid Muffins track being included on the album under the pretenses of it at least getting a normal kind of release, even if the other aspects of the album didn't pan out the way it had been planned. Especially if you have a song wait that long, what's the point in having waited if the resultant release virtually guarantees that your waiting will have been for naught? No big post, or fanfare, or even organization. Just a mediafire link and a forum thread that would get buried within a month. This album, and everyone's work on it, from the creator/directors to the musicians to the artists, has had so much love already poured into it that a drop-and-walk-away I would have taken as being extremely disrespectful. The staff preparations on the album are nearly complete. I can tell you from the amount of time I've spent being intimate with the album, and utilizing the assets that were available, the release is definitely nothing to slouch at.
  11. I like how it took me almost a week now to realize I spelled "Patrol" wrong. Oy.

Thanks, anyways. I am not the only member of this club! Apparently I'm the only one who carries a card, though...and can't spell "Patrol".

  12. You know I never thought I'd ever hear anyone say that and seriously mean it. I love this acronym.
  13. I have worked with Arek and we are moving forward with a planned release. It will be soon. No definitive date but the album is now in Staff hands and is moving forward accordingly. Regardless of what it could have been, I'm guaranteeing you'll enjoy what it ends up being.
  14. 18 to vote, 18 to smoke, 18 to watch porn, 18 to sign up for military service, 18 to get kicked out of the house. 21 to consume alcohol.
  15. I liked the game so much, I made an OCU song out of it. Is that fan enough?
  16. LOL no i wasnt saying that because I wanted credit. I was saying that as a jokingly droned response that my enjoyment of this song has nothing to do with the fact that I had a part in it, hahahaha. Oh, internet. How you obscure my tone of voice and intention with my words. I actually feel bad for sitting on it for so long. My to-do pile gets easily obscured sometimes when people don't bug me constantly to get on stuff. The best way to get me to finish something is to poke me with a stick until I do it. Keep up the great work, Ruku. Always looking forward to what you, AND DiGi, are coming out with.
  17. I'm joining a gym tonight, I believe. Been almost 3 years since I was a member of a gym, and it's going to hurt me. A lot.
  18. this song is awesome and i love it i also in no way shape or form had anything to do with the mixing and mastering of it what no how dare you Fo real though, this track is hawtness. Awesome work by you and Bunnyman.
  19. AMAZING BIRTHDAY! Good sir.

  20. I actually meant to bring this up in the other thread but yes, if someone is asking the staff a question and it isn't immediately stated material that can be copy/pasted from the site itself or wiki, let the staff answer it. So regardless of thread, please do not answer questions on behalf of staff.
  21. By all means! (just correct Oedekerk. I suck at remembering last names)
  22. Its like Steve Odekirk and Godfrey Ho had a babby. 82 OUT OF 4 STARS!
  23. All members if possible. We understand there are some extenuating circumstances that sometimes require a little wiggle room but really it is best to have everyone sign.
