  1. Hey, thanks for posting that, Jose. Good times to be had by all with that video.
  2. Sounds like I missed a hell of a party! Damn! Oh well. I agree that the BBQ should be tradition if only so I can go next year! ><
  3. I heard that, that was good! Also entertaining. XD I was the dork carrying around the Master Sword lookalike without actually being, well, Link. Also wearing sunglasses and a black OCR shirt. XD
  4. I voice my support in King Overlord Laharl! Beware of meteors. XD
  5. Yeah, but it's with a broken arm and some other stuff and doctors have already stated publicly that he's expected to recover. I believe Mr. Freeman is due to make a full recovery, if a slow one.
  6. It's possible, but you never know. While the Chinese demand perfection, sometimes the very act of the mistake is damaging enough to the athlete when their pride is on the line to be both punishment and incentive to do better. He was the leader of the Chinese gymnasts, and after he bungled his routine like that, you have to imagine how ashamed he's gotta feel on his own. Fortunately for him, those who appeared after made up for his mistakes with some outright flawless and downright stunning P-bar work. Right now, I think the only branding he's going to get is what the bar already gave him. All I can say for sure is that he'll be back with a vengeance in other events.
  7. Bernie Mac then Isaac Hayes. Two days of tragedy back to back. Indeed, very sad news. Unless he will be made into Darth Hayes and will become the scourge of humanity. ...But thank goodness South Park isn't real life. XD
  8. I sang while I was walking the other way, just for the record. Couldn't resist. And yes, the panel was a blast and went very well. Wish I could've hung around a bit more to talk to everyone. But you know how rabid those Phoenix Wright fans can get. Great fun, a shame I couldn't make it to the BBQ today, but probably next year. Thanks for a great time! EDIT: Also, are we gonna see the Otakon 2008 medley video on here? 'Cause that was pretty cool.
  9. Oddly haunting, but utterly addicting. May to make the Marida theme even more atmospheric, Zircon. Pixie's vocals are as full and strong as ever, too. And all in 48 hours? You guys are simply amazing. I know bLiNd will love it.
  10. Another Sakuraba fan. Good. I approve.
  11. Well, to be a game programmer? You just have to get really good at it and have a passion for it, and knowing a few people doesn't hurt. To be the one making decisions and *designing* games? Yeah. Good luck. It isn't going to happen, particularly if you're not already working for a game company and don't have astounding credentials to your name. You can *try,* but unless you have some idea of how to execute it and can cite precedent that this game will be profitable, you're done before you're in the door.
  12. Yeah. The physics on the ground are bad enough, let alone the floaty-air physics.
  13. Ah, it's Atmuh, it's what he does.
  14. Yeah, this game's bad. Ambitious, but a total trainwreck. They should've focused more on making the engine work right rather than putting all those damn characters in there. The whole thing was just slippery and a lot of it reeked of laziness, which is really bad when you're trying to salute a good game like Smash. I wasn't expecting a perfect emulation of Smash physics, but come on. There's no rhyme or reason to any of the physics in the game. If you can't get *basics* right, you can't make a Smash game. And yeah, I agree. Who the fuck decided it was a good idea to put Sonic fan-characters in that game? It's like they figured their game wasn't bad enough and they decided to go the extra mile with it. Ugh.
  15. Well, he *is* in some legal trouble. He's still being charged with a DUI. It's just that it's a misdemeanor DUI rather than felony DUI because nobody but him was hurt in the crash. That's how the law works. Regardless, he's still being charged with a DUI, even if he didn't cause the accident. Will he get more than a slap on the wrist? Probably not, especially considering a judge will likely be sympathetic considering the circumstances of the accident (which while irrelevant to the DUI itself, will still likely factor). He is a celebrity, celebrities get preferential treatment, it's just what happens. It sucks, it's bullshit, but it's the reality. I don't think they should get preferential treatment, but hey, I'm just some average joe. But Edge, even if LaBeouf was drunk, if the other driver ran a red light, I don't see how it's his fault to begin with. The guy running the red light was beyond his control, sober or not. *Shrugs*
  16. Seconded. The SMG is a miserable secondary weapon and it fails at dishing out any stopping power. Yeah, it shoots fast, but when each bullet deals like 8 damage? Effef's advice is spot on. Opt for the kukri if you can or better yet? Run away. Snipers suck in any sort of direct combat and you don't have the health to risk it most of the time. Truthfully? The Shotgun that most of the classes carry as their secondary weapon is a far more reliable close-range alternative than the SMG. It carries reasonable stopping power over short to medium range and it's the Pyro's only real method of dishing hurt from a distance. (Flare gun notwithstanding.)
  17. http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/02/shia.labeouf.ap/index.html A more up to date story. For the record, Labeouf wasn't at fault for the accident because the other driver allegedly ran a red light. So even if he was driving drunk and cited for it, he was not responsible for the accident, though perhaps it could've been averted otherwise.
  18. Not to be snide, but you really haven't seen a lot of anime if Bebop had the worst ending you've seen. To be quite honest, I found the ending to be very fitting to the tone of the series and it's led into quite well. Yes, it does leave unanswered questions, but nothing about Bebop really breathed "happy ending." Though I do fully, and wholeheartedly agree with you about the music. Though a live-action movie? No. Just. No. Never. No. Don't. No. Some things are best left to animation, and this is one of them.
  19. Ah, that would explain a lot. That's very upstanding of you to keep your word like that, Rambo. Well, if for whatever reason you do manage to get back to TF2 sometime let us all know. I wouldn't mind playing with you again sometime, even if you do always kick my ass. XD
  20. Well, that's a whole other set of bullshit to deal with on its own. FYI, use a Spy then.
  21. For the record, when I show up to Otakon, I might be wearing a long yellow scarf and/or be wearing blue sunglasses. It's a bit of a running gag among my friends, and Otakon's a place where I can actually use it. XD
  22. Crit Rockets aren't really broken in that rockets are one of the more difficult weapons to hit with. If they didn't do splash damage, soldiers would be worthless at killing anything but Sentries. Splash damage is *life* to Soldiers. And while yes, crit rates get boosted by doing damage, but consider that most of the time a rocket won't be doing full damage unless the soldier is a crack shot and the target moves like a target drone. The Crit Rocket is the haymaker Soldiers need to do their jobs in the long run. Yeah, it does kinda suck to get instagibbed by a Crit Rocket. Bahamut's done it to me countless times. But with so many other things that instagib you in TF2 now? Sticky traps, Backburnering Pyros, et. al? Crit Rockets are a small matter. Moreover, all of this is offset by the long reload and small capacity of the Rocket Launcher. It's not like soldiers can spam rockets all day because we run out and we have to reload, and that's when we're vulnerable. It's a pretty glaring weakness if people can learn to exploit it. AND, to make matters tougher for soldiers? The Pyro Patch gave pyros a reflector to push away incoming missiles. It's hard to do, granted, but it can turn the tables on a soldier. Bahamut and I have both been on the receiving ends of each others' reflected crit rockets and I can tell you from personal experience that such a thing isn't fun. So yeah. The Soldier's not cheap. He's supposed to be the main, bread-and-butter, versatile offensive class. He's well rounded and strong, but he's not invincible. If you're playing as a niche class like Scout, you have to use your niche well to beat the Soldier. Really, here's the rule of thumb and it's really quite simple: *Don't think you can beat the guy with the rocket launcher in a straight fight.*
  23. Some of us do enjoy coherent conversation, Atmuh. Anyways, I dunno, I remain cautiously optimistic about this game. I'll keep my eyes out for gameplay videos and if I see any I'll post a link here.
  24. It seems that in the latest issue of Nintendo Power Capcom has said their goal is to get more than 100 zombies on screen at a time, still a considerably lower number compared to its 360 counterpart. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a number of work-arounds to make the mall feel more populated than it really is. However, this drawdown does hurt a few areas of the game, notably the maintenance tunnels, Al Fresca Plaza (Day 3), and the North Plaza (Day 3). I'm not sure what they'll do to compensate, but it'll probably be something. We'll see. The other thing to note from the article is the presence of multiple save files, selectable difficulty levels, and that Overtime Mode is now part of the main story rather than an optional sidequest. Sounds like you may still be on a time limit, but from the sound of it the time limits might be more forgiving than the 360 version. The article also cites that there will be at least a handful of new juice mixes to discover. As well, it seems quick swings with melee weapons are mapped to the A Button on the Wiimote while your power attacks may require Wiimote Motion. The example used in the magazine showed the Baseball Bat. You may have to wind up for it and swing the remote when the charge gauge is filled. Interesting idea. While we're on items, it seems that they are eliminating some of the redundant items, while adding a few new ones. The article cited that the Lead Pipe and 2x4, which pretty much did the same thing, are being drawn down into a single item. Here's where I'm going to take a few stabs in the dark: I imagine that they'll drop a number of the monster masks you put on the heads of the zombies. They didn't get used very often anyway, especially when buckets, cones, and Servbot masks were more convenient anyway. They'll probably cut stuff like the Gems and the CDs and probably the Fish too. A lot of those items were superfluous and were only used when bored anyway. The screenshots in Nintendo Power looked considerably better than the ones posted online when the thread was started. Graphical drawdown is still obvious, particularly with the lack of shine on the floors of the mall (which now look markedly drab) and to some degree on the zombies as well. Frank still looks quite good, and the mall does appear to be very close to the original, if a lot less shiny and pretty. Guess we'll just have to wait for more. I'd like to see a gameplay movie sometime soon. EDIT: Forgot to note that Wiimote gestures to dodge attacks (specifically psychopath attacks) have been added as well. The screenshot shows a prompt to shake the remote horizontally to jump out of the way of a bull rush from Cletus.
