Brandon Love it! So groovy with some emotional noodling and tidbits. Feels like a piano piece for an anime than spans several scenes. I will be listening to this again. Eino Keskitalo So creative and groovy dude. A totally different kind of groovy than Brandon's track. Feels like such a cohesive track. My only gripe is that the sounds are very biting and ooze attitude. Which is great! But their texture is constant throughout the whole track. A little more variation in texture and percussion program would be nice. 2:52 could use some variation on the percussion to enhance the climax. Chimpazilla Nice! Feels like a christmas song with the lil barbershop vocal cues. Puts a smile on my face. Chernabogue Lots of character and groove. Hell all of the tracks this week are groovy. Enjoyable little ragtime romp. What is most impressive these two themes actually sound like 1 cohesive song. Your theme and style choices also matched the sources nicely.

Kramer Master Tape Sold! Also offering the three synths on here bundled for only $99 bucks. V-Station and Ultra Analog have a geat assortment of presets available around the net. -
Hey dude I am using Omnisphere's built-in in OSC's not Zebra 2 for the sound. Those are filters within the synth not the internal EQ module. Besides even those types of filters would not work for taming this type of sound. It is an inherent problem with how the sound is generated not filtered. In this situation recreating a better sound is the ideal solution. To use a modulated notch or peak filter would require a Q or resonance so thin it would generate unwanted phase problems. Which is why EQ'ing or filtering a sound to that extent would destroy the character.

Video Content Ideas for OC ReMix's YouTube Channel
avaris replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
I'd be up for doing the interview. Would def be up for lending some insight into Unsung Heroes as well. It was OA and I who came up with the idea after FFIV. -
Some good ideas. This sound is a little too dynamic and quick in its resonances to use EQ. EQ would kill whatever character it has. Chorus or a pleasing distortion/compressor would be better IMO. These resonances need to be "smeared" to help blend them together. There already is a chorus on the sound...it sounds really piercing without it. I will prob go back tonight and really dive into the sound to even things out. I always try to make the sound good at the source rather than processing the crap out of it.

Agreed and agreed. BTW Neblix I specifically stated it was waves and not NI. Btw the ilok software is wicked easy to use. Plus to install a piece of software all u have to do is install. No serial number, no response and check over the internet. Also takes 2 seconds to transfer a license. Those are some good experiences. And not every ilok license has to be on the dongle. A lot of them can be on your computer. I wish there aren't dongles. But that just isn't reality. To be honest dude grow up. We all are being very patient and nice to you despite how your attitude towards us. And we have been patient for years, and much nicer than we could be.

Oh shite. Yeah I check on Amazon before posting here and it was going for $69 used there. I'll lower the price. It is still $69 on gamestop: http://www.gamestop.com/wii/games/xenoblade-chronicles-gamestop-exclusive/98535 -
Thanks man! I like the production on your track. The Sazh theme was so challenging to convert into some form of 4/4. I think I am def going to submit my track to OCR. But I don't know if I wanna keep or tweak the biting digital lead. I'll prob at least put more chorus on it to smooth it out. It is pretty biting on speakers/headphones that don't have as much bass response.

Dude apparently you're pissed about your experience with ilok. And it does suck. But you bought it. And you forgot your ilok. Hate to say but you made your bed and laid in it. Your experience is one of the worst case scenarios, however there are plenty of positive experiences of previously mentioned. Waves which uses as system similar to NI has far worse worst case scenarios. Like not being able to use or license for a year. Almost happened to me. All BC I changed my wireless card. And please explain a scenario where ilok encourages piracy?

I like the non-humanized feel as well. Like old PS1 soundtracks. For panning an easy tip: I struggle with panning as well. Sometimes I just don't pan enough. Or I don't balance the sounds correctly. And it can def be tedious and a pain. But I love the sound of a good mix better than the art of massaging the details.

Garpocalypse Lots of good ideas here compositionally. I actually wish the ideas of the intro were revisited again. I really like the intro. Mixing needs some work in alot of areas if this is gonna be subbed. It is still enjoyable. I like how the songs are integrated in terms of the arrangement and flow of the track. MindWanderer Like the intro, subtle and mysterious. Sound design and production are creative and lend themselves to enhance the feeling and attitude of the song. Some of the leads are a little too loud and biting. Too many elements are panned dead center. TheShaggyFreak Love the ethnic percussion in this! I really enjoy the "space" you created for this mix and how all of the various elements live in it. Like the use of Kain's theme in the breakdowns. The track overall has a nice groove that is enhanced Sazh's theme. Overall some more variations in terms of rhythm and instrumentation and this would be an excellent song to hear on the front page. Tuberz McBirthday Beautiful. I am sucker for choir. Glad you subbed this. I like the track evolves over time. Some careful addition of reverb and balancing the stereo field could really enhance this track like crazy. Would really put it over the top. Take a listen to the Escaflowne soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. Some excellent examples in there about how to make tracks like sound completely full without sounding artificial or synthetic.

Yeah that was this year. They released an update for the iLok software that didn't work on some peoples computers.

Hoboka you do realize Moseph bought an iLok key...? Also if you really like the EWQL product and want to get something with your iLok key, for $50 and comes with an iLok2: http://www.slatedigital.com/products/rc-tube Also there is no reason to hate on companies using iLok. It is a big f'n pain in the ass to code/maintain your own software protection scheme. Look at it from their perspective. Some of these companies don't have many programmers. Plus coding DSP and software protection are two totally different things. If you were a developer would rather make awesome plugins or a software protection scheme? And to be honest managing your licenses on an iLok key is wicked easy and seamless. Way easier than going through some ridiculous call and response system on the internet, ala Korg. As with anything each their own. I don't mind the $50 buy in bc most of my favorite plugins are iLok based. Soundtoys, Kush, Slate Digital, EWQL, etc...
