  1. Agreed. Dude this is def a scam. Stay away. To add more fuel to the fire, nobody would turn around and sell a domain for 21.9% of a previous offer without waiting awhile for a better offer.
  2. Sounds awesome Jimmy! Backed it. Really liked the song Vindicate Me on the trailer. Best of luck!
  3. Bigs ups to Variety of Sound. Also SKNote has a number of excellent cheap plugins: http://www.sknote.it/ Downloading IK Multimedia's Custom Shop right now will get you two free plugs. Their Classic EQ and Opto Compressor. BTW is the Opto Comp is friggin amazing! http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/trcs/
  4. RIP you made my childhood awesome! Really the only magazine I ever read and looked forward to in my entire life. Nintendo Power was one of many accomplishments for an a amazing man, RIP.
  5. Agreed. I know how hard you tried on this track Jay. It is incredibly difficult to mix a song with this many tracks and performances. What you feel it is lacking now is only due to the time constraints the project was under. You had a separate version of the track back then that you wanted to polish more. To get the best of both worlds why not resub the track. As a version 2 or redux of sorts. Make a few arrangement changes for the betterment of the track and call it a day. That way when a listener hears both tracks they can hear how hard work pays off. They can see how your your skills and ear have progressed over the years. They get to enjoy an old favorite song in a new way all over again. Isn't that what this site is about?
  6. Ambitious goal! I used live in Ireland. My niece speaks Gaelic. It is extremely difficult to get the pronunciations correct if you are a native english speaker. Best of luck! Here's a basic tutorial: http://www.standingstones.com/gaelpron.html
  7. This! If you don't have connections within the community you are going to have to work at least 4x as hard. Just be aware of what you are getting into. Be prepared to be extremely diligent and organized for at least 2 years. If you feel you can do all of this have at it. I would highly recommend limiting the initial scope. If for some reason the project blows up and gets a crazy response then maybe more discs can be added?
  8. Explorable Overworld reached! I was so friggin stoked for that one. Can't wait for the beta access when it becomes available. Thanks for sharing this here Larry!
  9. I like to immerse myself in things that carry the same emotions I have at that time. Music is the most immediate and diverse medium for this. I can also use music to set a mood...whatever mood that might be.
  10. Sounds sweet dude! Really liking the track. Would totally belong in a NES game.
  11. I'm down! Really excited to see what comes of this.
  12. Thanks for the breakdown! If that is your perception of the source tune's presence then it is def valid. Will have to make it a strong consideration and look at overhauling more parts to up the %. It's very difficult bc I want to keep variety in the song and keep it's feeling and soul. However the source is only 10 seconds so there is basically nothing to work with. Not even a chord structure, it's just a motif. I am very proud of this track, and want to make a version of it that will pass the source requirements.
  13. Whoops realizing now shoulda put a disclaimer just to watch the section where they were using Pro Tools in the studio. Not the interview. My bad.
  14. He uses plugins that model analog circuits. They impart pleasant to hear Harmonic Distortion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_harmonic_distortion The signal isn't boosted volume wise. It's the same peak db. Glitchin the background FX could def be cool.
  15. Really liking the track. Intro is great. For some tips on bass watc this video startng around 7:28: Kick - Boost attack transient. Bass - Add some pleasant harmonic distortion. Will really help separate them in a mix. Just used that on a track of mine worked wonders. Saw some video for this technique somewhere but can't remember where. 1:44 - This section becomes monotonous after awhile. Just mix up the ambient textures a bit and that should add the right amount of spice. 2:23 - Build up back up from this section needs to be stronger. Overall great track, alot of the sound mesh very well together.
  16. Updated: http://sonic-elements.com/music/Avaris_Contract_Tales_of_Phantasia.mp3 Added the source verbatim in 4 different parts throughout the song. Should it be added more? Also added some strings in the final section to add some variation.
  17. THIS! Also same dudes remake FFXII in its original vision. And anyone other than square enix make a FF game. Chair Entertainment, Epic Games (of shadow complex fame) make a 2D Metroid or MegaMan game.
  18. I have zebra soundset but it more geared towards Dance. Arksun: http://www.arksun-sound.com/products.html The Dark Zebra: (sounds used in Batman movies) http://www.u-he.com/cms/zebra2-patch-banks Most of the soundsets on the link above.
  19. Actually thought he was good Argo. The Town, Good Will Hunting, Changing Lanes. Granted he has some bad roles. He is not a joke and has shown the range that is more than capable to play Batman. With the people involved in this movie, its chances of being crap are that high.
  20. Good choice IMO. Affleck's previous characters def fit the mold of batman. He has some serious acting chops too. Don't think his will be better than Christian Bale's but will still be pretty damn good.
  21. That part is Stutter Edit. Anytime a non-percussion element glitches it's stutter edit. Those were the last elements added. Performed several takes over sections and took the best results. Yeah I am bit torn on where/how to add more recognizable source back in. It can be very difficult with such a short source tune. I do need to go back and mix and process the bass in this track to make it more prominent.
  22. Sennheiser 280HD Pro. Awesome value, closed back.
