  1. Sorry mate, your gonna have to wait for the final thing, no pre-releases available. Stick around for a few weeks if you want to hear them.
  2. Correct me if i'm wrong someone, but I was under the impression that Darkesword (who has a few Chrono Trigger mixes up) works with flstudio (what like $100-ish), and entirely free samples and soundfonts. As he shows, it's not impossible to sound awesome on a low budget, you just need to know how to push the buttons. I'm sure there's some remixers with Protools, gigastudio and a $50,000 diamond laiden microphone, but a lot of the time its hard to tell the difference between that and a simple studio used effectively.
  3. You should edit your sig so that it syncs up with this, that would be so awesome. Im loving the vibes and drums.
  4. Damned, can you set us up the IRC channel? All your soul are belong to us. EDIT: Apparently if we just join it it will make itsself, check forum for channel name EDITX2: I see no pokepuns.
  5. lol, I was just being silly anyway. I'm good for cake, plus theres transport issues and various other things. You could however comment on my lavender town mix in the public wips section, because I want to know if it's worth continuing.
  6. I think this is mostly aimed at sort of pop music to be honest. The thing I liked about it was the fact it gave you actual figures, as opposed to abstract concepts of equalizations. It actually gives you some starting points as opposed to yammering on for 20 pages about concepts. Personally I would say, take the figures they give and play with them, they're obviously not going to be universal.
  7. This is a cool little introduction to EQ basics I found, thought I'd share it here. It's got some useful tips for creating the main types of tone you can get on certain instruments through basic EQing. Nothing too in depth, just some nice pointers. Nothing really for electronic sounds though. http://www.digitalprosound.com/2002/03_mar/tutorials/mixing_excerpt1.htm I'm considering buying the book this extract is from, if anyone who has it can tell me if its as good as this passage indicates, that would be cool.
  8. I seem to recall he uses Reason 2.5 .....Which is what I use . An funnilly enough, the entire arrangement for my track was done in one day. Production issues were spread out over a while though. Still, lots of coincidences.
  9. Its always good to see someone doing what they can, even if they don't have an amazing bunch of programs to do it with. It was just the exposure you were giving your voice really shocked me, I would be so afraid to do something like that.
  10. lols@Rexy We both put the chocobo theme in with ours. Great minds think alike . Also, Swordbreaker: Man, you are fearless.
  11. Sup fools, check the WIPs boards, 2 surprises from me.
  12. For one days work this isn't bad at all. The whole thing is a bit dry, needs filling out, a few delays, bit o reverb, it'll make it sound much better. The transition to house style is pretty good, and given time and work this could be pretty darn good. It's definately a good starting point and I would say yes, but ultimately it's The Damned's decision.
  13. arg..... lemme think..... AndyJayne wants guitar for Faint, i started that, on its way Jaroban isn't finished arrangement enough for me to start his stuff Was it majeliss who wanted some guitar *maybe*, he hasn't said or replied yet, I'll give him a PM/Email. And I've got another track of my own to do. Holy crap... I'm gonna be on like 5 tracks... When will I stop whoring myself out.
  14. Not really resolutions, more like aims: 1. Get AABB at least for my A levels. 2. Get a mix or two on OCR. 3. Write some goddamn original material for once. 4. (Please don't hurt me) Start a project once the ones I'm in are done/my part in them is done. 5. Take drum lessons. 6. Learn to play this mandolin I got for christmas.
  15. Damned: If you need a hand or anything, I'll help. You don't have any IM stuff that you might be able to get a hold of them with if nothing else.
  16. OoT was a little low on dialogue to be an opera don't you think? I mean... Link doesn't actually speak for one. The idea of an opera is cool, but I think you've got the wrong game. Also, theres not really that much of a plot to write lyrics about. You'd be better off with a more typical RPG game.
  17. lol, that was a joke vote, he hasn't even heard the other entries. Don't worry about bias. A lot of people prefer to vote for the udnerdogs anyway.
  18. You seem pretty confident. There are loooads of tracks open, and you actually have quite a bit of time. What you should do it go to the forums (see page 1). Find a track that isn't taken, prepare maybe about a minutes worth of remixuru and post it up, and then we'll see .
  19. I never really thought about it, so I checked how I do it. Rhythym and strumming I use my wrist most of the time. Tremolo picking I use a stiff wrist obviously. Lead, it changes. For like massive pickfest style leads, I'll use my wrist if it's slow enough, cause I have more control, but if its too fast I'll switch to stiff teachnique, but I don't like doing it. I think ultimately its what works best for you WITHOUT giving yourself a muscle problem.
  20. Bump. This thing almost got purged. Yeah, me and RK made some stuff, its on the forum, check it out. Project activity ftw.
