It's such a shame he just doesn't have the touch that seperates Satch and Vai from the others. He's a very talented guy though. My personal opinion is that he should stick to piano, he's a lot more fun to listen to on piano, and he's just a good.

Just having a listen to it. Ah, remember listening to this WIP actually. It was the one to tell the story. Most likely the reason it got an instant rejection because at the end you had directly sampled "To Zanarkand", as in, using the actual song from the game. That isn't allowed. I know it wasn't a huge amount sampled, but combined with the very sparse arrangement and extremely repetitive drums, I think djp would have thought it would have been a very obvious rejection by the judges even overlooking the direct sampling. It isn't in this version, you seem to have cut it out now. If you resubmitted it, it will *probably* reach the judges, because its not a straight cover or anything, but I don't think it would get a yes. You would need to be much more creative with the drums, add in more parts, pads and synths, to support and fill out the sound. It would be also worth your while looking into how to fill out your guitar parts. Learn about doubling and how to add more power to them. I think the idea has potential, but you need to listen to some other rock type remixes and hear the difference, see what kind of think they've done that you haven't. Learn by listening. I hope that cleares some stuff up for you.

I just listened to the last episode and I just wanted to say how awesome it was. Magfest was hilarious, with the medleys, Larry, and the "superbadass" genre. Debeerguy's response had me laughing so much (He sounds like Toejam from TJ&E3). It was really fun to listen to, and I'll miss it. Also, your mix is incredible. Anxious Heart has always been my favourite song from my favourite game, maybe even my favourite peice of music full stop, and you guys nailed it. Really amazing stuff. I really do hope to hear more from you guys, even just little bits every now ang again.

The same thing that makes 3/4 different from 6/8. It depends where your accents are. In 3/4 its 3 quarter note beats, wheras in 6/8 its grouped in 2 sets of 3 eighth notes. One has two accents per bar, and one has three. I can't say what it is for 14/8 though. Maybe two groups of 7 quavers :/. Also prizm: Dance of eternity is the best song ever written with odd time signatures. I learnt the whole damn thing, it's so awesome to play.

I suppose that could be whats happening, but considering she actually wrote her old stuff with 2 other people, as opposed to just performing songs written for her like she is now, I think it's far more likely its the label and the producers giving her the new direction. I did do a bit of wiki browsing before i posted, the newest album is a completely different production crew.

I just think it's a terrible shame when this happens. I'm sure hes a great producer at what he does if you like that kind of thing, it just seems like everyone is going down this direction, and it's because of people like him forcing them down the road because they won't get popular otherwise. She would have been awesome with her old style, and he's ruined her creative side sompletely. Irreversible, unforgivable.

I remember "I'm like a bird" being a great song, it was fun, well sung and well produced, and I've only just realised what a complete moron he is for bringing her down the r'n'b road.
