  1. I know a lot of people who use it, seems to be doing well in UK land yah.
  2. Hello. They're finished on Thursday, so I suppose thats really when the next wip date is. Sorry I'll reply to that pm now.
  3. It's still a single jack. The idea is you process it so your brain thinks it's surround when it's not really.
  4. Ok, I'll put you down for it. Look forward to it!

  5. Sorry, exam time atm, don't expect a meaningful response from me about anything until next thursday. I didn't even listen to the wip before you sent the wav so don't assume it's done just yet. I've been that busy :(.

  6. I'm reminding people privately through msn etc because not everyone reads this thread. Kinda busy with exams but I just got the major one out of the way today.
  7. I basically listened to Professor Satchifunkilus and the Mysterion for a lot of FFXII postgame. It worked really well. It has that mystery about it.
  8. I never said you were only talking to me, but your comment was aimed at people who expressed the view I just did. Generalizing your comments does't make them any less directed at the people you are generalizing about. It just means that when an individual questions them you can call them narcassistic, and think you totalled called them out. You didn't. As for the rest of your post; I'm not some mad fanboy who is angry at square for changing the formula - all I said was the older games had more content for whatever reason, be it being rushed by publishers or costs of making cities. Thus i enjoyed them more. You change the formula, you will get people not liking stuff about it. People coming down on you for not liking the change of formula when it is genuinely less enjoyable seems really strange. They took a risk, imo it failed, but not catastrophically or anything.
  9. I know what I'm complaining about and I payed close attention to the plot. I don't need you to correct my argument, nor did I ask you to. I'm well aware that the plot was probably chosen on purpose to avoid the whole cities thing. You also spend a lot of time as a fugitive in FFXII and FFX, and they did the opposite and found ways for you to get around cities despite that. They could have easily tailored features of the plot to allow for cities, they just clearly didn't want to as it's probably way too expensive to make a proper city these days.
  10. Well my point wasn't that that linearity is a problem, it's just that some of the other titles are so absorbing in the scale of the world that you don't notice or care. I felt that was absent in 13. 7, 8, 9 and 10 are all equally linear really, they just don't feel it as much. And there are fanboys of everything. Just btw it was pretty good overall, just not good enough to replay for me .
  11. I was discussing this game with my friend who is convinced that FFXIII is the best FF game. I am now convinced it is one of the least enjoyable ones but before fanboys throw shit at me it's still on the better side of rpgs in general. Basically, every point I had to argue where there was something wrong with the game made me realize that the same concept had been done right in FFXII (which I find pretty underrated tbh). To name a few: Incredibly linear, no choices of location or sidequests. FFXII:Oodles of exploration and hunting to do straight from the offset to give you breaks from the linearity of the plot. Return to sphere grid concept but really annoyingly capped to the point where you have to complete the game before you can max anything out. FFXII: Really open choices to develop your characters with a focus on anything but still open later on in the game, arguably a bit homogenized. Also included original leveling system. Inability to talk to NPCs and explore the towns and cities that usually give the worlds of FF games their charm and sense of immersion. FFXII: Lots of funny and interesting people to meet in some large and small towns to explore. Irritatingly extreme character traits (with the exception of Sahz). FFXII: Balanced more believable characters, arguably a bit bland but I never buy into this theory. Apart from Vaan/Penelo the entire cast of the game is great to me. Obviously 12 had it's own issues but basically I just felt limited by the corridor gaming of FFXIII. The one chapter where you really get loose is great but not a whole lot to see there. FFXIII reminded me of FFX quite a lot, in that they're both incredibly linear until a certain point when they become pretty open, but FFX with its characterized cities for you to explore as opposed to corridors really felt like a world to become immersed in so you don't care or notice that it's linear. B- not as good as your earlier work.
  12. These guys work crazy fast. We all suck.
  13. Really? I think 7 is still playable. I still play it on my psp and the graphics never bothered me. The rest of the game makes up for it imo. There's no two ways about it though, the field character graphics are awful. Backgrounds are nice but characters :/. N64 zelda too, wtf? OoT game still plays great.
  14. I have no problem with re-auditions, but make sure you and your collaborator think you have something that you're very confident would pass the judges panel. I don't have time to give in-depth feedback on everything atm (exam time).
  15. Well, I actually really want to do it, but I should finish what I have first. Too much on the go to say for sure. If someone badass comes along first then it's all good.
  16. Well an SPL is fairly useless in terms of hearing damage statistics. It needs a weighting to be relevant. Not trying to be pedantic for the sake of it. Ah sorry you're quite right. SPL is 6dB for doubling. analoq continues to know his engineering shit.
  17. I'm so glad I brought up fanfiction in that episode, I seemed to have doomed OCAD to an eternity of bad fanfic recitals. Well, doomed or saved, depend on how hilarious you find it.
  18. I don't think I'd be able to relax in a room full of deer heads looking at me.
  19. Can I just say; 90dB doesn't actually mean anything, it's an arbitrary number with no units. 90dBA or 90dBC does, as they give a level relative to a weighting standard. 90dBA will give you permanent damage after 8 hours yes. I don't think a busy street is 90dBA, more like 75, and only if its really busy. Adding 3dBs is double whatever it was previously, as sound pressure levels vary a lot. (ie 53dBA is twice as loud as 50dBA in terms of sound pressure level) Basically a level with reference to dBA takes into account the A-weighted equal loudness curve, as we are more sensitive to some frequencies then others. It probably takes substantially more level at 100Hz then it does at 4kHz to cause you damage.
  20. Just recieved a WIP from Archangel which I can only really describe as 'epic'. He's definitely bringing the orchestral business I just mentioned and claimed the airship theme, so yay. More orchestras. I'll see about asking some mo peeps.
  21. lol, calm down guys. Pokemon project has next dibs far as I know. I need to speak to bgc about the menu theme first.
  22. I need to speak to the people first. Shortly. No new tracks thx.
  23. Moar like 14/15 tracks. Lots are almost done. But the ones that are barely started/ridiculously old need to go as far as I'm concerned.
  24. At the moment I'm trying to move towards releasing what we have as a smallish project of the key tracks. Just to let you know what's going down.
  25. Hrm, hard to tell without hearing it why your track doesn't sound as loud as mine (if that is mine... I can't tell what track it is from that). It doesn't look like its being limited quite as hard but not very far off. Can we get a clip of the loudest section at all? Even one bar would be enough probably.
