CALLING ALL REMIXERS: let me butcher your music!!!!
Fishy replied to DrumUltimA's topic in General Discussion
Whatever you want :3. -
I'm like 99% sure this is a MIDI rip where the tempo change screwed up. Combined with the fact that you haven't changed anything about the original really, I can tell you this isn't what OCR would be looking for. Try starting from scratch with a new idea instead of with a MIDI if you want to have a chance to get on OCR.

I suppose its not impossible that they could add some more characters via download... is that impossible? I don't know much about Wii's despite owning one. Regardless, I like the roster, 35 is a lot of characters.

Wow, so no one wants to do your idea for a remix project so instead you bitch about the other ones. Nice.

So... Who thinks its time for "Nissan Disco"? This is the perfect backing. -

Gotta love experimental music groups that take a retarded idea and actually make something groovy out of it. -
OC ReMix "Best of" Series ~Final Fantasy VII
Fishy replied to Phoenix Wynde's topic in ReMix Requests
Oh sorry I misinterpreted the idea. I thought you were saying take the least listened to remixes and compile them. No idea how I managed to get that idea. I was probably skim reading as I shouldn't be using the net at work. Yeah, taking overlooked sources or composers and remixing them is cool, no objections there. -
OC ReMix "Best of" Series ~Final Fantasy VII

Now this is a better idea, but I still think its an iffy idea. It could be perceived as a big sign saying "no one likes these remixes". I still think the best way to go about appreciation is finding the songs with the least reviews and reviewing those, as is that random christmas tradition we do around here. -

Feel free to make your own unnofficial greatest hits compilations if thats what you want, but as Rozo said, there will never be an official one. The site isn't about whos the best/most popular. The closest thing we have to a favourites list the ormgas radio streams votes, but the top track only has 500-ish votes, so I wouldn't call it definitive (Even though i loff Disco Dan). -
Rayman Remix Album - would you be interested?
Fishy replied to Flexstyle's topic in General Discussion
Thats true for some projects and not others. Be very careful about insinuating that any supposed lack of voluntary contributions made to projects that most co-ordinators put lots of effort into are attributed to laziness. People have lives to run and jobs to go to. And yes, the lack of active established ReMixers IS the reason newer projects lack interest. Every now and then something really interesting comes along that everyone wants to take part in, but you have to be compelling enough to rope the big names away from their duties to perform on your behalf. A picnic ain't it? -
If you're sure its not the guitar or interferance, its the lead. I bought a brand new lead and it did something similar. I went back to the shop and got another lead of the same type, and that one sucked aswell. Turns out they had a bum batch, had to get rid of all of them. If you've got any other leads around, try using them instead and see what happens.

I'm mostly in this camp at the moment. With one major exception: SSBM with my friends is ENDLESS fun to me. We can play this for hours without getting bored. Aside from that, I've gone a bit casual lately. A bit off FFXII and FFV here and there, maybe twilight princess if I've got a few hours free. Since I started working full time though, its becoming less feasible.
-
I like listening to the FF8 soundtrack more, but its not as "remixable" imo. For example, drifting is probably my favourite piece of music in the game, but I wouldn't know where to start with a remix of it.
-
lol yeah it is a bit of an exaggeration, but the one click for logic isn't. I'm not familiar with sonars newer builds, but I hadn't heard about anything similar. How many times have I nailed that solo just to get something really dumb like a power chords at the end wrong? Now it doesn't matter .

Hah, this is a winnar.

This has been done a few times y'know . Voices of the lifestream is an example of that, as is Majestic Mix. Look 'em up. Hell even the Squaresound nobuo arrangement competition will end up with something similar. Theres no shortage of nobuo remixes around.

Reason 4 sucks, an unbiased review.

Thats not how you maek musics. A real man gets a blank vinyl and gouges his soul into it with a fork. -
I love the last two albums (minus the vocal tracks), this isn't anywhere near the same production quality. When I say this is only slightly better sounds then the original, I mean literally only slightly better then the original smattered with ott guitar, making it feel cheap and uninteresting. This isn't par for the course imo, it sounds like they're getting lazy. I know what the point of the black mages is. They were one of my main influences when I started remixing.
-
It really was quite meh wasn't it. Apart from the guitar, everything else is just slightly better sound qaulity then then original, and the guitar is still fairly crap sounding. I hope the rest of it is MUCH better.

I agree. I was blown away by how much stuff comes with Logic Studio for the price. In essence it is, as snapple says, another DAW, but its the additions that seperate it for me. Also, if you do any live recording, the multi-take comping is just the best thing ever invented. Normal DAWs can technically do the same thing, but it would take you 20 minutes instead of one mouse click and drag.
