And particularly awesome. You might need to burn all your other music after it. I've been to see them twice, and I'm going again in 2 months. They're getting even better every time I see them. I don't know if they bring all their crap to the US, but at home, they always bring this massive lazer show with them and try to blind and deafen as many people as possible. It's awesome.

I was really considering making one of these on recording electric guitar, because it's the only thing I can do properly. It would be a cool learning experience to actually document and explain what your doing and why you're doing it. Supposedly the best way to learn is to teach. These were cool man. Really well put together, and entertaining to listen to. Good stuff.

6ths are related to thirds in that that can be a major 6th or a minor 6th. Some intervals like 5ths, whilst they can be varied (augmented, perfect or diminished), they won't tell you whether or not a chord is major or minor. Essentially, when you have 3rds below your melody, what you're really doing is playing 6ths above it, but an octave lower. I guess you could just count down like you did when they were above. Don't expect it to work everytime, sometimes higher 3rds work, sometimes lower ones do. Just do whatever sounds the best to your ears.

Yes there is a project. Stick around for a month or two (being optomistic) and you'll have all the pokemon you could want.

To an extent. A good amp won't make your guitar sound like something better then it is, but a bad amp won't do it justice. Unless you're talking about a modelling amp, eg the Roland Cube, then you just want something thats not worth $50 and will compliment the style of guitar you bought. "Supposed" is the key word there. They've been hyped to shit because lots of famous people play them, but they're really not all that. They aren't 'Total shit' so to speak, but they're definately not worth as much as they sell them for. You hear a lot of stories from huge bands that use Les Pauls; The dude from the Darkness always uses them live, but in the studio he used an Ibanez JEM, because they're just better guitars in every way, they just want the look of the Les Paul to seem 'cool' or some shit.

Milestone people! Out of the 20 tracks, we now have 10 WIPs. Progress is a nice thing to have huh . Kudos to Scardism for such a fast WIP. Keep up the good work.

I have a jackson and it kicks most other guitars I've played in terms of ease to use, so i'll agree with the Snaps on that one. I bought it last March and I'm seriously not kidding: I haven't tuned it once. Unbelievable. I would also like to recommend Ibanez RG guitars to you. They have much wider string spacing then most guitars, much akin to classical guitars, and in my opinion play and sound better then anything else in the price range. You'll also enjoy the thinner neck compared to most other guitars. Coming froma classical point of view: A mid-range Ibanez RG all the way. Thin strings are just something you'll have to deal with. The same thing happens to electric guitarists who go classical. It just takes some getting used to.

I look in here. Sometimes people will have overlooked a certain ReMix that already happened, in which case I try and point them in the right direction. As far as actually taking a request... never been bothered. If someone were to "request" some guitar tracks for their own remix, I would almost definately respond though.

I don't think you quite grasp the concept of an album project. You don't get to listen to "WIPs" from official albums, so why should you hear from us. Anything people heard when we made that forum public was a privalige, which we've taken away because it was getting annoying. We've all put lots of hard work into this, and for some random guy to appear, ignore our warnings and then say he wont hesitate to say everything thats wrong with it is the PERFECT way to appreciate all our hard work. Bottom line: Feel free to download the album when its out, and feel free to leave comments about what you like or don't like, but comments like the ones above, and ignoring everything we say is not the way to support a FREE, VOULENTARY ReMix album. We don't dedicate our free time to hearing crap for our efforts.

I have some satriani backing track. They just end up in groove cycles, so you can solo over them however you like really.

Every single point you made about that damn source is true. I started a Dream Theater style mix of it this morning. I kept thinking about how I need to change direction from the AC version. No matter what you do, you can't compete with a professional studio recording complete with full orchestra. Doesn't mean you can't try, but it makes you feel shite.
