  1. Well, the mockups for patents are only there for legalistic reasons - they're usually far from the actual look of the device.
  2. http://www.t3.co.uk/news/247/games/gamecube/wii-phone_incoming (Supposed) pic from the patent: So...anyone know the patent in question referred to? This does sound a little interesting if true though.
  3. Well, I have no PC controller...and I refuse to use keyboard (I've done it before against a friend, that sucked ass).
  4. I'd call that trashing when you got sites like Gamespot & IGN giving those scores. I still haven't played it yet, as I'm busy on FF3 DS first. I'll start that after though.
  5. Actually, I hear the US has FF7 fever far worse than Japan - Japan is more crazed about the Dragon Quest games than FF.
  6. Nah - my childhood best friend likes FF7 a lot, but he's not gaga over it. He has grown up with the likes of FF5, 6, Chrono Trigger, SMRPG, and all that other good stuff before they ever graced the US though (minus SMRPG, we got it first).
  7. Wow, DKR DS is getting trashed by sites. I'll start on it when I beat FF3 DS. So far, I have to say this - if you can stand the old leveling up style in RPGs ala FF7, then it won't be a horrible buy, but I'd stay far away from it as long as it sports the $40 price tag. Of course, this won't stop those hooked on FF from buying it.
  8. Yeah, it's probably better to go with the GBA versions simply because of load times. Also, the Anthologies bonus music CD was fairly crappy (no Battle With Gilgamesh? Who the fuck voted on the tracks?)
  9. I was playing a lot of FFIII DS last night, and the battery lasted me 5-6 hours before turning red.
  10. It ships today, comes in tomorrow. I'll be picking it up tomorrow, although right now I'm busy with Wario Ware Smooth Moves and FFIII DS.
  11. So wait, Windows Vista doesn't add DRM when you rip a CD onto your computer, right? Does it do anything to mp3s you downloaded not from your computer?
  12. That's why I use Bit Torrent - none of that bullshit.
  13. So, I just got back from an EB, and I heard good things about DKR DS - this EB employee says he normally doesn't like racing games either. Just bought FFIII DS too, so comments on it later (after I finish my hw) Edit: Funny you should mention the drop of battery life there - I noticed a drop in the battery life of my DS Lite. It could be from lots of playing though...
  14. Search for songs by the power metal band Running Wild, from the albums Under Jolly Roger and after. Here's some samples of lyrics: Under Jolly Roger "Weigh anchor, hoist the sails Cruisin' for booty on watery trails No exploiter we see can still sail on Our cannons fire till his ship goes down Fly our flag, we teach them fear Capture them, the end is near Firing guns, they shall burn Surrender or fight, there's no return Under Jolly Roger Venerable scoundrels, no blood on our hands Our engagements are tough, but only for defence Carefully we sail around the reefs To force those die-hards to their knees Fly our flag, we teach them fear Capture them, the end is near Firing guns, they shall burn Surrender or fight, there's no return Under Jolly Roger Coming through the waves to free all the captives Boarding the vessels we know all the tactics We're the menace, the curse of the sea We pulverize the men'o'war, pay or flee Fly our flag, we teach them fear Capture them, the end is near Firing guns, they shall burn Surrender or fight, there's no return Under Jolly Roger" Riding The Storm "Breaking the waves, a ride on the wild raging sea Playing with fortune, oh, what a lust to be free Flashlights and thunder, the pattering rain on the hull From a stormy horizon we get our course The cry of freedom Face in the wind, we're riding the storm We'll stay our course whatever will come Wandering souls in the sea of the damned Death or glory, oh, we're riding the storm Cracks in the planks, the rigging moves upwards and down Staggering masts, the pounding splash of the prow The wind in our sails, our flag flies high on the top From a stormy horizon we get our course The cry of freedom Face in the wind, we're riding the storm We'll stay our course whatever will come Wandering souls in the sea of the damned Death or glory, oh, we're riding the storm" Tortuga Bay "[1. Verse] Man or boy - we'll fight all as one Bending the rules - it's the call of the wild Last resort - to be shot down in pains Playing your very last card [Prechorus:] Hoist up the mainbrace and fasten the sails Crowsnest is screaming for shore Ready the rum that is stored in the hold Bringing what we need and more [Chorus:] Where the streets have no name Where the devil's in all men If you knew what was a slain Pay or flee in Tortuga Bay [2. Verse] Fight to death - games that men play Flashing of steel and the clash of the sword Last breath - the kill of the day Proving what all men must fear [Prechorus:] Hoist up the mainbrace and fasten the sails Crowsnest is screaming for shore Ready the rum that is stored in the hold Bringing what we need and more [3. Verse] Live by stealth - cover your track Enemies scuttled but who needs to see No escape - knife in your back Proving what all men must fear [Prechorus:] Hoist up the mainbrace and fasten the sails Crowsnest is screaming for shore Ready the gras that is bound up in bales Bringing what we need and more [Chorus:] Where survival's the game Where you fight for your freedom If you knew what was a slain Pay or flee in Tortuga Bay"
  15. Nobody mentioned Neskvartetten? For shame, all shall now download this greatness. http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01050/ http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01408/ http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00989/ http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01197/ http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01231/ http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01516/
  16. Unfortunately, my celebration will involve lots of algebra work.
  17. I found plenty of Wii remotes back home...but none around here. Also, Wario Ware is awesome.
  18. I ended up feeling Hotel Dusk was too much money for what it was. I rather would have spent it on 4 Agatha Christie mysteries instead.
  19. You can't really go wrong here - even if you don't like the style of the remake, it contains a direct port for those complainers. And Symphony of the Night. The PSP just looks to have more and more software - it's like the N64 of this generation, it has lots of good games but is overlooked.
  20. For $135, it's hard to pass up one at that price for what you get. Sure, it may have DRM, which is technology that restricts how your mp3s can be used, but it uses the DRM on the Zune, so it shouldn't affect you unless you like pulling your mp3s from your music player into another computer, which is an unlikely scenario. Note, this is coming from someone who vehemently hates DRM and usually stays far away from it.
  21. What about remixes by the likes of ziwtra? They're electronic and still pass by.
