  1. I live close enough but...I don't really know many who's going, and I don't know anyone who lives there so I wouldn't have a place to stay. Plus I'm not huge into anime.
  2. I turned out to be disappointed, mainly because I didn't like how short most of the songs were. That sample track was quite a tease. Oh well, I do have to say that the production was pretty good though.
  3. Nice, will listen sometime in the next few days!
  4. I've seen some of these videos before, and probably at some point will see them all - I've just been too busy lately finishing up my last academic work ever (!!) and preparing for the impending job search... BUT they are indeed awesome - I'm surprised someone even thought of using a DDR pad to beat another game, but not really surprised it was Nario .
  5. I wouldn't say the graphs are completely accurate - for example, it is reported that the band members of Manowar, the world's loudest band, have excellent hearing. Still, it wouldn't hurt to take precaution when in a relatively high decibel area.
  6. This is a unique song from Jordan - I don't think I've ever heard him do anything like this. It really does have a happy sound to it. Nice song
  7. I can barely hear 16k, and I can't hear 17k at all. I'm about to turn 26.
  8. Hm, so one of the first things I notice is how thin this song seems to be in the mid frequency areas early on. The song could benefit from more instrumentation I feel. Other than that, there's some good ideas here, but I get the overall feeling that a lot more needs to be done in the production realm to get this up to snuff.
  9. Here's a teaser for everyone! http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~wcho6/MRPreview.mp3
  10. Happy birthday! I still enjoy your Bukki's Tango mix .
  11. I need a new video card for this game - it really performs crappy on my Geforce 8800GT while running dual monitors . Just a few months...
  12. That's pretty awesome - it looks like they're being receptive to the fans. Also, I'd like to thank atmuh for recommending this game - it's really fun! Some of my music makes for an insane play it seems, like X-Japan - Art of Life, Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum, Kiko Loureiro - Outrageous, and Dream Theater - Octavarium...ugh. On the other hand, doing survival mode to Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time album seems to flow pretty well - got the 20 minute mark achievement!
  13. Some of these are great, a few I haven't heard before! While of course I love any suggestion, there is a particular version I've never been able to find and that grabs me the most. I remember as a kid hearing a version of it being sung by a female in the classical style on PBS. I've never been able to find it since then . Here's another one that I know of - Blackmore's Night: Note: Blackmore's Night is a folk rock band collab between Ritchie Blackmore, of Rainbow fame, and Candice Night, hence the name. I remember finding that one like 4 years ago - I <3 it for sure. The origins of that one I think is actually an opera he did, Sir John in Love. I have the album, but it's back in NY . In particular, it's this track: Act III, Scene 3: What John! What Robert! (Mrs. Ford) - Alas my love, you do me wrong (Mrs. Ford) Searching Wikipedia, it apparently is Ralph Greaves who created that particular arrangement based on the opera one, Fantasia on Greensleeves I indeed love this song greatly - I do own that particular album, it's a great one by her overall. I shouldn't be surprised that Rainbow did one too - see above.
  14. So because I'm sort of obsessive about the melody - anyone have any links to versions/covers/rearrangements/etc. of this enduring song for me?
  15. Better get moving then - east coast is the best coast ! If I move back to the east coast, I'll possibly be up for this. Much moreso if I move into the Baltimore/DC area.
  16. Whoa - although I still have to wonder about their lyrics heh.
  17. Updated the list to match the project thread's list.
  18. Happy birthday to The Prophet! May he enjoy a day full of cake & birthday tidings!
  19. So I was almost right - almost finished WIP from Dr. Manhattan!
  20. So, anyone got something awesome on the way? It's ok to finish early . I did get wind of something quite awesome lately - perhaps a completed track coming my way?
  21. Happy birthday to perhaps one of the most mysterious regulars of the site!
