  1. Still upset I haven't been able to go to MAGfest thus far. Hopefully some people make it to PAX east.
  2. Happy Holidays peeps. I got so much Tim Horton's coffee products. They don't have them in Boston! Sooo happy!!
  3. What do you expect? They want to cater to oldschool gamers and introduce the newer ones by offering a "baby mode" for them. It'll just be funny when a friend is all excited and relieved at beating said mode and you tell them "Yeah, that's great. That wasn't normal mode. You're still a pansy."
  4. VERY nice. It's surprising how just a few paragraphs from the big-man himself can re-invigorate the hope that VGMix will actually return to the limelight. Thanks for the news, Jake.
  5. Hah...oh man. Let's see if I can actually finish what little I have.
  6. I had a decent idea, but it's not getting done with job searching and interviewing like I've been doing. I'm pissed.
  7. I guess the only way VGMix is going to revive anytime soon is if they find coders who aren't busy at this time, who are willing to put X-amount of hours into finishing the site. I'm not meaning this to insult any of the current staff or coders that are there now, but like was said....they're busy with other things. Logic would say that, rather than let an awesome idea stagnate, find some more people willing to pitch in to take the pressure off of the current team.
  8. Is the idea of evolving the WIP forum even doable? If so, I say go for it. It can only help people achieve the necessary level of quality the judges look for, while also providing the rest of us with the works that may fall short but still fall within the range the rest of us still deem interesting for our individual reasons.
  9. Nobody corrected me. People (like Sinewav there, though he might not have known either) gave me the impression the reason it wasn't going forward was because of Virt's busy schedule, which just led me to believe he was why it wasn't going forward.
  10. You know, I too thought Origins was pretty crappy.....but now that GT mentions it, it was more Silent Hill-ish than Homecoming was. Dunno if I'd say "better" really....but had more of the SH atmosphere about it. Thanks for making me realize that. I'd been dumping on Origins otherwise. (I still will...but less so now)
  11. So have a site half-done for years and not letting someone else step in (even temporarily) just to get the ball moving again is so hard a concept? I totally get that VGMix is his baby and he wants freedom to do what he wants, but the current product is that what is done is left to stagnate. I know...you can't blame the guy for having an idea, trying to get it done, and halfway through the opportunity for greatness in the form of composing popular mainstream game soundtracks knocks on the door that he would have been stupid to walk away from. My reasoning is that he's gotta realize with his current schedule, that the site will never get done if he doesn't have others come in and work on it in his stead. So, while he might not be working on it directly and that might take a bit of the joy away, at least the site would be finished with all the grand ideas they originally had for his version. (there was a lot too, if I remember correctly) It's not like it wouldn't be his site anymore, either. If the plans and ideas were his, and he has them all drawn up and just doesn't have the time to code them, it's still his stuff....just with another person's manpower helping out.
  12. Yeah, damn Virt for becoming successful and being too busy with his own life to dink with finishing VGMix 3. Seriously though, I'm surprised nobody from his team stepped up and took the reigns, or that Virt didn't try passing it on to someone else to take over. If enough people got involved, it could be finished before too long, I'm sure.
  13. Loved the video, Seph. As always, you bring up excellent points in regards to the possibility of video games becoming n art form, and should be given the privileges of other media. I also give you props for not once mentioning Jacko. Good on you.
  14. Yeah, I'd also say get both, if they're at those prices. Turbo's are rare and both the system and its games are hard to come by. (though that may also be your problem)
  15. Very interesting theme. I'll have to make sure to make it this time.
  16. Ok....I saw honest to goodness wall-jumping. That alone gives me hope.
  17. Ok, I concede my previous statement. The resulting submissions for this contest exceeded my expectations. Good job to everyone.
  18. Very nice surprise for Halloween. I think I most appreciate the fact it spans even to the most recent Castlevania games, which even if you don't like the gameplay, each has at least a few wonderful songs, which Mr. Morse here seems to have capitalized on very nicely.
  19. Boyfriend and I are going to a Halloween party as two of the Voltron pilots. He's making little lions to drive the point home a bit more.
  20. Eh, when you said a "WTF Month" I thought you would mean a surreal theme, like your favorite WTF moment from a game. That would have been a fun challenge.
  21. I think voting ends whenever Bonzai gets around to posting the results.
  22. This man speaks wisdom. Get the game out before 2011 please.
