  1. Well I remmebering hearing from somewhere that Sakurai said in an interview that they where doing away with clone characters (it was a pretty big topic in these forumns not to long ago). Ganondorf's moveset was almost exactly like C. Falcon's. I'm pretty sure out of the two, Ganondorf is the one to most likely have his moveset chaged, seeing as how C. Falcon came first and He uses a sword and magic powers often in the Zelda games. I'm just guessing, but I am almost positive he will have a different moveset. If you don't think thats the case, thats fine. You can simply come up with your own idea. Also this isn't some prediction (that Ganondorf and Sheik are confirmed), the official source came from GameInformer and I personally think they are very reliable. However I have to agree with Nicholas in that if you want a real confirmation, just wait for the update on smashbros.com. The same goes for peach.
  2. I am not sure if this has been posted already but if it has let me know. http://www.thewiire.com/news/879/1/Aonuma_Confirms_Sheik_Ganondorf_in_Brawl If this is true, its almost guaranteed that Ganondorf will have a new moveset. Sheik's design should be different as well.
  3. So an Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT would be good then, right. I doubt I can afford anything better which makes me thing its probably Nvidia's 8 series equivelant to 7300 GS. 8600 costs around 50 to 120 bucks more than than the 8500.
  4. This is probably the best update so far for me. I really excited about this mode. This could be the thing that sets Brawl apart from Melee in terms of new content and gameplay. The cinematics look like they'll look very nice as well.
  5. Thanks, that was what I was worried about. However, just so you know, I am not really concerned about running those games at the best possible quality. Decent quality would do just fine. Also, how good are Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT GPUs? This sounds like a good card and it is within my price range.
  6. Ok heres the deal. I recently got a new PC and I upgraded it signifanctly so I could run some of the newer games coming out decently. However, I am now worried a little about running some of the newer games avialable this year because some of my older games aren't running quite the way I expected. Here's my system specs: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Live DualCore 5000+ RAM: 2GB HD: 350GB, 200 GB of free space Graphics: eVGA Nvidia 7300 GS 256MB with HD support OS: Windows Vista Home Premiem DirectX: Direct X10 Systemrequirementslab.com says my machine is pretty good and from the numbers I displayed I think its pretty good too. However, recently I have been having some very slight perfomance issues with some games, games I wouldn't expect my machine to have a problem with. Here are some examples: Doom 3: The game slows down during some areas in the Hell portion of the game and areas where there are gases or fog. Everything else runs fine. I have it running on high quality at 800x600 resoultion with Vertical Sync and Ant-Aliasing off Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: The game is probably the game that runs the worst on my PC. It slows down quite a bit in very large environmental areas like the Sand Dunes. It also tends to freeze for about a second or two at times during the game. I run the game at 1024x768 at 60 hertz. Anti-Aliasing, Vertical Sync and Soft Shadows are completely off. Unreal 2004: This game actually runs very, very good. However, when I play some of the Assualt and Onsault maps, the game speed slows down a tiny bit. This really doesn't bother me a lot but I just didn't expect it to happen on my system. I run the game at 1024x768, 16 bit color, everything is on normal except for physics which is on low. I also disabled trilinear filtering. Fear: This game just perfoms overall kind of poorly. It looks worse than Doom 3 and the framerate seems kind of slow. However, the graphics quality and framerate stay consistant thoughout. I run it at 800x600 with vertical sync and anti-aliasing off. Call of Duty 2: This game runs really good at 800x600, with anti-aliasing off. However anyting higher and it slows very considerably. This game doesn't look all that great to me so I thought I could run it at higher settings. Note: Fear was a demo, not the whole game. Games I have no problems with: Warcraft 3: Runs excellent through out at 1024x768 with everything at high. Age of Mythology: Runs excellent as well at 1024x768 with everything on high Rise of Nations: Runs how expected it to run but not much of difference from my old PC Half-Life 2: Runs very well at 1024x768 with vertical sync and anti-aliasing off. Never slows down. Note: Half-life 2 is a demo Now for every game I listed, systemrequirementslab.com says my system is good enough to go above the recommended requirements. Some more than others. Also I close running programs, disable some start programs before I play the games. I also defragment and disk cleanup a lot. Now that you have the info here are my questions. Is my system pretty good, bad, crappy, or broken? Should the games I listed be running better than they are? Is Vista and Direct X10 causing some of the perforamnce problems? Did I expect too much out of my machine? Am I overly ignorant about PC peformance? and finally the most important question, Is my system good enough to run some of the newer games that are coming out like Unreal Tournament 3, Quake Wars, and maybe even Crysis? I know its a lot of reading and a lot of questions but I would really like some help answering them. Any help, if possible, is very, very, very much appreciated. Thanks for your time.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the 20GB PS3 discontinued on March or April of this year. http://www.ebgames.com/productmerch.asp?groupid=635 At first I thought they might be selling them used but I can't indication of that anywhere on the site.
  8. I really enjoyed the movie but at the same time I wasn't expecting much from it. I wasn't sure if the translation from tv show to film was going to work out. However, after I watched the movie, I thought it actually did a good job. It had that same Simpsons feel but only on a bigger screen and with a longer story.
  9. I finally solved my problem. I did what Dshu said and now I have internet on my pc. Thanks for all the help agian guys.
  10. Thanks for your help anyway, its very much appreciated. I knew that but for some reason I never thought of actually doing it. I'll give it try but it will tough because my room and the living room are pretty far apart. Thanks for the suggestion.
  11. My lower-end PC is not actually mine, its my fathers. He pays for the internet so he doesn't like me to use it, so switching them is out of the question. Lan or Wifi internet is possible but I need money to set that up, which unfortunately I don't have right now. I'm trying to save up money to go to school in the spring, plus I have a large car isurance bill. I did have a wireless router hooked just awhile ago but it just doesn't work. Nothing can get a signal from that thing, including my wireless reciever, wii, and ds. So as you can see, I am in a little bind right now as far as aquiring internet access. So now that I have explained myself, How can I get steam running in off-line mode. I have already registered also. If new need more specific info, when I try to run Steam on my off-line PC, I get the message "Unable to run in off-line mode because Steam was unable to find login information." Any help is very much appreciated.
  12. Man that sucks. However, I think I found a solution. When I try to launch steam on my off-line PC, a message appears that says I can access steam offline but that I need to have my login information stored on my PC. Does anyone know how to do that.
  13. Would you guys know if the full game has the same problem.
  14. Just in case you don't know, that new Manga based 2D fighter from Capcom is called Sengoku Basara X and it is based off the the Sengoku Basara manga and anime series or Devil Kings as it is known in North America. Here are some screens. http://www.the-magicbox.com/0707/game070726b.shtml This game looks very similar to Guilty Gear. I have also never heard of this series and from what I have seen, it doesn't interest me much. Still hoping it could turn out to be a good game. Edit: It turns out Capcom is just publishing the game. Arc Systems, makers of Guilty Gear, is developing the game. This makes me even less excited.
  15. I know this seems like an odd question but I still need an answer to it. Is there a way of getting and installing the half-life 2 demo without using Steam? I ask this becasue my higher-end PC doesn't have an internet connection. Only my lower-end model has internet access. What I usually do in this case is download the demo and transfer it to my other PC. However, I have yet to find a way to this with Half-life 2. From what I see I need access to steam to download, install, and even play the demo. I really want to try this game out, so if anyone has a possible solution please let me know. Any help is very much appreciated.
  16. Wow, thats interesting but I have never heard of it until now. Looks very interesting.
  17. I actually don't like the SAC series. I prefer the movies more because they follow the story of the manga a little more than SAC. However, I really liked Solid State Society even if it was very confusing at times compared to the first 2 movies. Edit: I quess what I am trying to say is watch the movies first then, if you like them alot, check out the SAC series.
  18. That sounds great. I'll consider doing the same.
  19. Man this looks fun. This was something I had wanted to do since the first smash bros. I wonder if every character is going to have some sort of spring like animation.
  20. Happer birthday DJP. Thanks for the awsome site and your awsome remixes.
  21. I don't think Nintendo is releasing anything big in september. Mario Strikers Charged, Battalion Wars 2, and Raving Rabbids 2 could be considered big. As for me, the next few months are going to be expensive as well. I am planning on getting Metroid Prime 3, Guilty Gear Accent Core, Godzilla Unleashed, Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, Soul Calibur Legends, Namco Museum Remix, Dragon Ball Z BT3, Raving Rabbids 2 and Lego Star Wars 3. Not to mention I still want to buy Excite Truck and Wario Ware. I have never wanted so many games for one console in such a short time-span.
  22. Glad to see Yoshi is back (what a suprise!). I just like using Yoshi agianst my friends. They get so pissed when I own them with him because they think he is a crappy character. One word "Juggle". His lack of a 3rd jump is a big weakness for him but if you play him enough, you get used to it after a while. Great character to play in friendly matches.
  23. To many, the events of WW II are justified, at least on the allies side which is the side you play on most of these games. The events of the Columbine Massacre, I'm sure many would agree, are unjustified and senseless. It would be different to play a game where you play the role of a person who can justify whats he's doing as compared to someone who just commits mindless murders. I personally have nothing agianst the game but I also don't see what point its trying to make either. Then agian, I have never been a fan of very voilent and sadistic games (Ex. Manhunt) or Turn-based RPGs.
  24. I am really excited about Soul Calibur Legends. A action game with Soul Calibur animation just sounds awsome to me. Also I hear the controls are very immersive. You can't get stuff done by just making small flicks of the controller, you actually have to get the movement right with the correct timing which is similar to a fighting game. All in all it looks awsome but I think I'm still going to rent it first before I buy it.
