  1. I don't think you want to put on a DJ show using monitors. Well maybe not the ones I have. I have the rp5's and they are good, but do NOT crank them loud. They will blow.
  2. When I hit spacebar, I want to be able to pause and play, NOT stop and play. I hate how it starts at the beginning everytime when I hit space.
  3. hoboka is this the one you wanted me to play guitar for?
  4. the hold right click to zoom anywhere was much needed.
  5. o cool I get it now. One of my favoriute features of FL8 is that amplitube works in it now
  6. Ok well if you ever need them to be specific numbers, now you know how to do it. edit: or I could do it for you
  7. as far as money goes, reaper is the industry standard.
  8. They line up precisely with 12 and 2. Ignore all the custom template stuff and just look at the formula. It's a basic point and slope equation from algebra I. Nothing fancy here. (IfL(Input,0.3)*Input*(0.5-(0.1/3))/0.3)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(Input-0.3)*((0.25/3)+(0.1/3))/0.7)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(0.5-(0.1/3))) The IfL command is If Lower. The IfGE is If Greater. Then there are two cases: case one slightly below the origin (for vibrato as explained earlier) all the way up a slope that reaches exactly 2 semi tones on full extension (assuming the channel settings is set to 12 semi tones for pitch bending. Case two slightly below the origin and below down all the way to -12 semi tones.
  9. Yes that will work for equal pitch shifting in each direction. You can select the number of semi tones by changing the number above the pointer. However, by using the method illustrated in this guide, you can have a different number up than down, I like 2 up 12 down. Of course you could have 12 up and 12 down and have the dexterity to slide the pitch wheel exactly where you want it, but the 2 up 12 down method has an iota of a learning curve.
  10. Solo Pitch Wheel Guide 2 semi tones up, 12 down First you need to make a folder in your computer where you installed FL studio. C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 7\Data\Projects\Templates\Minimal\Empty Pitch Wheel 12 2. That's what I used. Now you should open up the .nfo file with notepad and type something into it then save it in the same file. Now open one of the Icon.png files from another starting template folder, C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 7\Data\Projects\Templates\Minimal\Club basic\Icon.png for example. This will be the picture that shows up next to your template description. Now go to remote control omni pitch and type this in - (IfL(Input,0.3)*Input*(0.5-(0.1/3))/0.3)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(Input-0.3)*((0.25/3)+(0.1/3))/0.7)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(0.5-(0.1/3))) Now make sure to set the pitch bend range in the channel settings to 12 semi tones. Also note that the extreme pitch changing downward doesn't start until a little past the center point. This makes vibrato easier. Thanks and feel free to ask any questions. Edit, Better is (IfL(Input,0.3)*Input*(0.5-(0.1/3))/0.3)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(Input-0.3)*((0.25/3)+(0.1/3))/0.7)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(0.5-(0.1/3))) I noticed that the previous method has a pretty rough middle section. This should be better. (IfL(Input,0.3)*Input*(0.5-(0.1/3))/0.3)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(Input-0.3)*((0.25/3)+(0.1/3))/0.7)+(IfGE(Input,0.3)*(0.5-(0.1/3)))
  11. After some 15 minutes of searching hammersound, sf2midi, kvraudio, and google, I am having trouble finding a good applause sound effect. The track I am working on is sort of a metal/rock track and it starts off with the keyboards playing the classic riff. Then the audience swells into a shouting applause and the guitars/drums/bass take off with it. Tanks
  12. Yea I definitely want to do the finished product on a piano roll. Ok thanks for the generous input everyone. For some reason I thought using a music notation sequencer would be faster
  13. Well I mean like changing from major to phrygrian without manually moving each note its corresponding 1/2 or whole step. Mainly to QUICKLY get a feel for what it would sound like in a different mode. But I guess that would handy for experimentation. I guess for actual composing, the time it takes to change to a different mode is tiny compared to the total time spent?? edit: O thanks moseph. Do you know a program that can do this? I think melodyne can do it (with audio too!!!) but that's out of my price range.
  14. I wanted some help composing in terms of software. I have finale 2007, but it sucks. I always compose using the FL piano roll because it is faster than finale (even though it should be the other way around) So is there any good, fast composing software out there? Thanks. Also, in FL studio, or something else (composing software), is there a button I can press to shift the highlighted melody around to different modes? To click every note and drag it its corresponding distance to morph it into a different scale/mode takes a while. edit: Or maybe cubase or sonar. I've heard those have musical scores. I am fine composing in the FL piano roll, it's just that I think composing with notation would be a hell of a lot faster.
  15. Ok That is plenty to work with thanks.
  16. I am willing to remix any song. Just pm me and post here or only pm me. Please include link to source file or youtube video or something else. Thanks. ok that is plenty to work with people - thanks for now
  17. what kind of a guitar do you got? Ibanez Rsomething?
  18. don't shell out money for some stupid crap. Reaper IS the way to go. edit: if you are spending money, consider getting reaper + a good synth or library or two.
  19. It helps to compose it in a different program because piano roll is hard to look at and see what is going on. (if you can't read music, then this won't be a benefit). It also helps to compose everything in one pattern except maybe the drums. Depending on how good your computer is, you might also want to compose using midi sounds and then make producing it a completely different step. My computer is 1.4ghz single core and 1gb ram so I can't have too much going on at once. What works for me is to compose, then produce by rendering down to wavs and other techniques. If I try to do both at once, my computer can't handle it. Usually most songs start with a kick and snare groove. Then add in highhats, bass, melody, and filler pads. Although you can do anything you want. Post in the WIP forum and on other popular music forums to get feedback for absolutely free. good luck
  20. it's really not that big of a deal. More effort goes into to composing and making the song anyways. As long as the piano roll gets the job done, it's fine. On the other hand, I can't stand FL's automation clips. Although I just upgraded to v8 and they seem to be on par now. They actually show you what you are editing instead of a %. The other thing I don't like about FL is that the program takes up too much screen space. IMHO, any daw works fine because they can all load the same vsts.
  21. these were the cheapest I could find. I think i am going to get em http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/ernasoearpl1.html
